"You are right… Ah Sheng very likes Ah Tian's fan. It was Ah Tian's gift for Ah Sheng, after all." Chen Han spoke.
Jing Kang nodded, as well as Jing Bai. Jing Bai has also heard about this tale of the pair of master and disciple when he once went to the Xinfaxian Sect to visit Cheng Sheng and ask him to cure Jing Rui. He was also surprised that Cheng Sheng didn't hit Fei Yinzi, but also not surprised since he knows that Cheng Sheng wouldn't hit someone weaker than him.
Although he is a scum, but he is fair. He wouldn't bully the incapable, so, naturally, he wouldn't hit Fei Yinzi, who is a child, and also is weaker than him.
"So… what made Ah Sheng be this mad?" Chen Han asked.
Silence…
"… should we ask Er Zi?" Jing Kang asked.
Before Chen Han and Jing Bai, who is very gossipy and wanted to tag along with them, could answer, Jing Cheng returned and he heard what Jing Kang said. "Ah. It is no use even if you ask him." He said.
They turned to him. "Da ge. Did you already ask Er Zi of this?" Jing Bai asked, surprised.
Jing Cheng shook his head. "I didn't." he answered.
"Huh?"
"Because I can tell that even Er Zi himself doesn't know what he did wrong to Cheng Sheng." Jing Cheng spoke with a smile.
"… huh?" Chen Han, Jing Kang and Jing Bai blankly stared at him, couldn't process what Jing Cheng said.
Jing Cheng placed down the snacks and held Jing Rui's hand to massage his fingers and palm. "Er Zi didn't know that his master has abandoned him, so he was very shocked after I broke the news to him." He said.
"… huh? Er Zi… didn't know?" Chen Han muttered. "He didn't see his master leave?!" he asked.
"Yes." Jing Cheng nodded. "If he has seen him, do you think Cheng Sheng could easily return to Xinfaxian Sect like that, given how sticky his disciple is towards him?" he asked them.
"… you are right." The three men answered when they remembered that every time they see Cheng Sheng, Fei Yinzi would always be by his side.
Jing Cheng chuckled. "Er Zi looked like he doesn't know why would his master leave him here, though, so I think he didn't know that Cheng Sheng was mad, and at him, and is very mad." He told them. "Of course, he doesn't know that he did something wrong, again." He added.
Chen Han, Jing Kang and Jing Bai. "…" such a pitiful disciple. They thought. They don't know whether it was Fei Yinzi's luck or bad luck to be Cheng Sheng's disciple.
"So… we won't be able to know what caused this to happen." Jing Kang sighed and feel regretful for failing Lei Ling's expectation.
"You can still." Jing Cheng suddenly spoke.
"Huh?" they all turned to him. "What do you mean?" they asked.
"You can ask Cheng Sheng." Jing Cheng told them with a smile.
Chen Han, Jing Kang and Jing Bai. "…" as if we could! They thought. They still don't want to die… even though Cheng Sheng became weaker than them all, but they know that Cheng Sheng is still frightening.
Heck, he became even more frightening since they think that Cheng Sheng has blackened. Not because of his cultivation, but because of him losing Fei Yin.
Jing Cheng laughed when he saw their despairing faces. "Actually… there is one more person that you could ask." He told them.
"Really?!" they exclaimed.
Jing Cheng nodded. "The other person that night…" he smiled as he looked at them. "Ling Yun." He told them.
"Achoo!" Ling Yun suddenly sneezed and his sword he swung suddenly flew out of his hand.
"AAAH!!!" his fellow disciples screamed and immediately ran out of the way to dodge the sword that flew. "Whew!" they sighed in relief and wiped the sweat off of their forehead. Then, they turned to Ling Yun.
"Yun-er." Ling Xi, his uncle, called. "What's wrong? Did you catch a cold?" he asked as he approached him. Then, he raised his hand and Ling Yun's sword flew towards him.
"Uncle." Ling Yun called before he bowed. "Thank you." He said as he received his sword.
"You have done a great job last night. The Zunjingde Sect has already given us compensation for helping them catch the plant demon." Ling Xi said.
"I don't dare receive the compliment," Ling Yun answered as he lowered his head.
Ling Xi ignored his reply. "You also received a gift from elder Cheng Sheng." He continued. "I am really proud of you." He said and patted Ling Yun's head.
Ling Yun's eyes brightened and then he blushed. He has always admired his uncle and, after his parents died, his admiration towards his uncle increased. Ling Xi has a great sense of responsibility. Ling Yun knows that although they are relatives, but it was never easy to raise a child, particularly a child who just lost his parents. Ling Yun also knows that Ling Xi was also suffering after his elder brother died, but he suppressed his depressing feelings and raised his nephew without any complaints.
"Yes." He answered and smiled.
Ling Xi nodded, approving of his attitude, and opened his mouth, wanted to speak when suddenly, they heard a commotion outside. They turned and saw a disciple running towards them.
"What's the matter?" Ling Xi asked after the disciple stopped before them and catches his breath.
"E – elder Ling… elder Jing Kang and elder Jing Bai of Zunjingde Sect came." The disciple answered after he bowed and greeted him. "And elder Chen Han of the Youxiwang Sect also came, with them two." He added.
Ling Xi and Ling Yun were surprised. Although the Zunjingde Sect and Yuling Sect have collaborated last night in an operation, but they didn't establish a relationship enough to visit each other's sect. So, why did Jing Kang and Jing Bai come? What is more surprising, Chen Han came, too. They already know that the Zunjingde Sect and Youxiwang Sect have become close to each other because Cheng Sheng, Chen Han's younger brother, is treating Jing Rui, so it did not surprise them to know that Jing Kang, Jing Bai and Chen Han came together.
But, what is surprising is that the three of them came to the Yuling Sect. So, why did they come here?
Ling Xi and Ling Yun looked at each other before they went to the reception hall, only to find their sect leader Yu Wen is sitting across the three men while they are all drinking tea.
Everyone turned and saw Ling Xi and Ling Yun arrived. "Oh! Ah Xi, you are here! Come, join us for tea – !" Yu Wen spoke with a smile when Ling Xi suddenly walked towards him and hit him. "OW!" he cried and touched the top of his head with his both hands as he muttered in pain.
"Mind your image…" Ling Xi told him through his gritted teeth.
Jing Kang, Jing Bai and Chen Han. "…" what the hell… is this? They thought as they looked at Yu Wen and Ling Xi. Where was the cool sect leader and the aloof elder of the Yuling Sect? This is really a shock to them.
Ling Yun who was already used to this everyday sight. "…" I'm sorry for embarrassing our sect in front of all of you… he thought as he covered his face with his both hands.
Ling Xi saw the shocked expression of their visitors and he immediately coughed. "Ehem." He fixed his expression. "Elder Jing Kang. Elder Jing Bai. Elder Chen Han. Welcome to the Yuling Sect." he spoke. "May I ask what is the purpose of your visit here?" he directly asked them.
Jing Kang, Jing Bai and Chen Han immediately snapped out of their daze and altogether turned to the standing Ling Yun to the side.
"… huh?" Ling Yun muttered when he saw the three elders are looking at him.
Ling Xi's expression changed while Yu Wen finally stopped acting and looked at them in the corner of his eyes.
Jing Kang, Jing Bai and Chen Han saw Yu Wen's and Ling Xi's cautiousness. Chen Han smiled. "We came here because we have something to ask about elder Ling's nephew regarding last night's event." He finally answered.
Ling Xi's eyes narrowed. He glanced at Ling Yun who was surprised before he turned back to the three. "Did my nephew do something wrong?" he asked as he pulled Ling Yun behind him.
Seeing his action, the three men smiled at his protective stance. "It is the contrary, to be honest." Jing Kang answered.
"What do you mean?" Yu Wen spoke as he returned to his cool image.
Jing Bai turned to him. "We want to ask him about last night." He answered. "After we left Cheng Sheng to him, and when Cheng Sheng's disciple, Fei Yinzi, arrived." He explained.
