"Since this is an ancient cultivation method, the method is simple." Cheng Sheng spoke as he recited some lines to everyone.
Everyone followed what he said and immediately felt the flow of qi in their limbs. "It is really simple." They spoke after they gathered qi from the surroundings and made it pass through their limbs before spreading the qi all over their body.
Although they also gather qi to first establish their body's foundation for cultivation before forming their golden core, but they gather qi and place it all on their dantian before they distribute the qi all over their body. This way, they could establish their foundation and also slowly but surely form a golden core in their dantian.
.
Yet, the Three Harmonious Forms Manual made them gather qi on their limbs and slowly distribute it all over their body. Although it is a crude method, as expected of an ancient cultivation method, but what's important is for it to be simple. This is for their disciples, after all, and not for them. They can also even teach this to their disciples who have lower cultivations since they haven't formed a golden core yet.
At least, in this cultivation method, they can strengthen their bodies first before their spirit and mind.
"You can understand this much…" Pai Lie sighed in admiration as he looked at Cheng Sheng.
"Even us don't know how to interpret the contents of this cultivation method, yet you can understand it." Zheng Yi smiled.
Cheng Sheng just shrugged and didn't mind what they said. "The second step is related to strengthening the mind and the last step is for strengthening the spirit." He spoke as he looked at them all. "Since this cultivation is about the harmony of the three forms, one must to follow each step carefully and not skip even one bit. You also can't stop in the middle of cultivating." He explained.
"Body, mind and spirit…" Jing Rui muttered. "The body is the container of our mind and spirit so it must be strengthened first, right?" he asked.
Cheng Sheng nodded. "Sect leader Jing is right." He answered. "If the mind or the spirit, or both, would be stronger than the body, the body cannot bear it and it would be exhausted until it finally collapses." He told them. "As sect leader Jing said, our body is the container. Our mind is our consciousness and our spirit is our will. With our mind and spirit working together, our body moves according to our will and remains conscious as long as our mind is working, and our body still has the strength left. This is how our body operates." He explained. "This is the way our ancestors interpret it." He added.
"I see…" they muttered in understanding.
"No wonder the cultivation method, aside from being effective, is simple to understand!" Tang Zhe spoke.
Everyone nodded in agreement. They were about to speak when they suddenly heard Cheng Sheng spoke.
"You can come out. What's the use of hiding?" Cheng Sheng said. His words are obviously directed to someone but then his gaze remained on the scroll in his hands.
Everyone's vigilance raised but then they realized that since Cheng Sheng is acting carefree, the presence of the person hiding shouldn't be a threat. They also didn't feel any hostility, so they finally relaxed their vigilance.
"Eldest young master Wu Tie, I still have to name you since you don't want to come out." Cheng Sheng spoke and finally raised his gaze to look at the entrance of the Yunxiao Inn.
Everyone was shocked. They didn't feel any presence outside thus they didn't realize that someone was outside! How did this happen?! They are all sect leaders so they have a high cultivation. But, they didn't feel a mere disciple's presence outside the inn!
"Am I right, disciple Ling Yun?" Cheng Sheng added and glanced at Ling Yun who is fidgeting on his seat.
Wu Tong's face reddened in embarrassment because he didn't think that his son would follow him, and even sneak outside. After uttering an apology to everyone, he walked towards the door and opened it, revealing Wu Tie who has his head lowered.
"Sect leader Wu didn't need to worry. It's just a son worrying about his father because it was already late in the night and the wind is so cold." Cheng Sheng spoke and ignored Wu Tie who looked at him.
"It was you." Wu Tie muttered.
"What do you mean?" Wu Tong asked his son.
The other sect leaders also were puzzled but Sun Rong knows that Wu Tie meant about that day when Cheng Sheng arrived in the Zhongyang and he tried to kill Fei Yinzi because of Wu Tao.
"I have offended elder Cheng before." Wu Tie spoke and deeply bowed. "My apologies. I am blind. I apologize for raising a hand against elder Cheng's disciple." He said.
Everyone was shocked.
Cheng Sheng just nodded, not caring in the slightest. "Swords have no eyes, after all, thus they aren't a human to judge what is right and what is wrong, nor are able to identify the ally and the enemy. Humans, actually, also err. How much more the sword?" He asked. "I also am not petty to squabble with a junior. You apologizing is already a proof that you realized your mistake. Raise your head." He said.
Wu Tie nodded and stood upright. Wu Tong sighed and patted his son's shoulder before they entered the door.
But, Wu Tie suddenly froze when he heard Cheng Sheng spoke again. "If you've brought a friend, isn't it rude for him not to introduce himself to us?" he heard him ask.
Tension rose in the air and they looked at Wu Tie while Wu Tong's expression changed again. Although no one can see what 'friend' Cheng Sheng is talking about, but they have an unconditional trust in Cheng Sheng. Ling Yun, who has special eyes, didn't see this 'friend' that Cheng Sheng is talking about so he can't give his uncle Ling Xi and Yu Wen an explanation of what Cheng Sheng meant.
Wu Tie sucked in a cold breath.
"You are also aware of the Spirit Tracing Bell your father has right now, so you should be familiar of the bell hanging in the Yunxiao Inn's entrance." Cheng Sheng continued. "Though, the bell didn't react. That means your friend is very strong." He finally met Wu Tie's vigilant gaze. "I know you aren't a bad seed, so I dared to let you take a step foot inside the Yunxiao Inn. But, you can't take another step further if your friend still won't make his appearance." He told Wu Tie.
Everyone inside is already antsy, especially Wu Tong since Wu Tie is his son and is currently making a 'trouble'.
"You wonder how I managed to find out even though the bell didn't react?" Cheng Sheng asked when he saw Wu Tie didn't answer nor the 'friend' made a move. "There are two answers. I'll tell you one: I am the one who created the bells." He told him.
Finally, everyone heard an unfamiliar, but seemed to be also familiar, voice spoke. "Apologies, apologies." Some spoke as they saw a figure appeared from the darkness. "Elder Cheng… you are truly the most brilliant person I have ever seen." He said as everyone finally saw his visage.
"Jin Yu?!" everyone was shocked.
As soon as they all identified him, Hui Qiu's expression turned ugly.
Wu Tong saw it so a cold sweat formed in his forehead. "How did you… befriend him?" he asked his son.
"It is a coincidence." Wu Tie answered while his gaze remained on Cheng Sheng.
Cheng Sheng remained smiling.
"May I ask what is elder Cheng's second answer?" Jin Yu asked, wearing the same smile on his face.
"Instinct." Cheng Sheng answered. "Do you also want to enter?" he asked him.
A cold sweat trickled on the side of Wu Tie's face.
Jin Yu just chuckled. "Of course not. I am already satisfied with my own lot." He answered. "I just accompanied my friend here to see his dear father." He explained and glanced at Wu Tie.
Wu Tie who never expected for someone to find out Jin Yu's identity regretted that he acted on impulse tonight. He really shouldn't have underestimated Cheng Sheng! Though, for some reason, Cheng Sheng seemed to have no intention of exposing Jin Yu.
Although this made Wu Tie relax, but also he can't feel anxious since he doesn't know what's running on Cheng Sheng's mind. Even if he heard that Cheng Sheng is kind for helping everyone save their asses every time, and also with his inventions, but nonetheless, he was still a scum. Truly a contradicting personality, yet only Cheng Sheng managed to do this.
"I apologize, elder Cheng. Everyone." Wu Tie finally spoke and bowed. "I only wanted to bring an additional garment for my father to wear because it is cold." He said and took out the garment from his qiankun pouch before he gave it to his father. "Again. I apologize for disturbing everyone. I and my friend shall be taking our leave now." He told them.
