Ronald waved as he mixed himself with the crowd.
“So how much for the clam??”
“Did you know about the sunken ship??”
“I told you, I’ve seen it!”
“Let’s go deliver these to old man Kovar before he gets mad”
Ronald stood still in the crowd as he took it all in. It was only now, that he truly realized, he was back in human civilization.
After going touring the area and meeting new people, Ronald then set out to find a place to stay first. He was controlling a human now, so he needed a place to stay.
But it proved harder than he thought as nearly all hotels were booked.
Soon, he found himself inside a tavern. At this point, his clothes had more or less dried.
He sat at the counter and asked…
“Hey, where can I find a place to stay??”
He asked the bartender a middle-aged man whom one could easily tell had tons of experience from his face.
“You new here? I got a place for you upstairs, it might be a bit shabby but there’s a bed at least, what say you?”
“Sure! How much though??”
Ronald only has a small amount of money, but still, he wasn’t worried, if he wanted to, he could bring a horde of fish and even rare sea beasts and treasures from the depths of the sea to sell. It isn’t wrong to say, the entire sea is his wallet.
“Only 20 kels a night”
“Great!” Ronald grabbed the money from his pocket and placed the wet notes of money on the counter.
The bartender took it, nodded, and said….
“Good, can I see your admission slip?”
‘Admission what?’ Ronald tilted his head as this was the first time he heard of it.
Seeing this, the man frowned and suddenly gave off a different air.
“Oh, the admission slip? Well, here’s the thing…. I lost it” Ronald could only improvise.
“Lost it?”
Ronald now wanted to say that he was actually from here but seeing as he already said he wanted to rent a room, he lost his chance.
“Yeah I did… so how much is it to get another admission slip?” From the name, Ronald had guesses as to what it was, he didn’t expect the people here to be so strict that they monitor each individual who docked into the city.
He didn’t hear any of this from the people he met, likely because it was common sense.
Then someone placed his hand on Ronald’s shoulder…
“Hey buddy… Mind if I take you to a little drink??”
Turning around Ronald couldn’t help but curse inwardly. The man was wearing the typical uniform of the city’s sailor.
Which means he was an official. ‘When did he get inside?’ He wondered; things were getting out of hand.
Then he noticed the surrounding people become tensed.
‘Really? All this just because of having no admission slip??’

In the end, Ronald decided to tell the ‘truth’.
He sighed and said with a deep horse voice as if he had faced a great calamity…
“Actually… I only washed up ashore….” He then told the story about how a ship was attacked by a gigantic shark.
It was a merchant ship coming from the Creta Kingdom. He told how the shark rammed itself into the ship and caused damage and water leakage. The ship eventually drowned and he could only grab onto a barrel as he desperately swam ashore.
The story wasn’t a lie, there was indeed a ship that was destroyed by a gigantic shark just a while ago. He was eavesdropping on the crew’s conversation when a monstrous shark attacks them. Its size were about half the ship’s size so with one ram, it sank the ship to the depths of the ocean.
Of course, Ronald later ate the shark as revenge.
Listening to the story, it seemed the people somewhat believed him as the tension eased.
The official, unsure of whether what he’s saying is true or not could only say…
“Nevertheless, come with me for verification”
Seeing as the situation calmed down, Ronald followed the official, but not before he remembered taking back the money he gave to the bartender.
Following behind the official, Ronald thought things, won’t be that bad.
“What a bitch….”
Ronald couldn’t help but curse as he held the iron bars like a prisoner. Scratch that, he was a prisoner.
After he was brought to an office, he was subjected to a deeper level of questioning, like who was the captain, and crew, what cargo where they carrying, where they port and more, in the end, all he could say is that he lost his memories while swimming for his life.
Naturally, the officials didn’t believe him. They were many holes in his story so in the end, he ended up here.
“Really? All this just for not having an admission slip?? What’s up with these people, I could have just bought one if I didn’t have one…”
Ronald muttered in complaint…
“Hehe… that fact that you say that proves that you’re not from around here”
Ronald turned around and saw one of his cellmates, leaning on the wall.
“Everybody knows about what happened to the Seawine Family”
Ronald raised his eyebrows and asked…
“Why? What happened to them?”
The man was about to continue when…
“Huah!… monster…. Monster.. monster….”
Their last cellmate who was asleep woke up, shivering and muttering something.
“Tsk… great, we woke up crazy…”
“What happened to him?”
“He said he saw the sea god or something… probably just traumatized by what happened to his ship”
Ronald, raised his eyebrows as he tried to remember the pranks he made on a couple of ships.
No matter, it seems he had traumatized this man.
