"...Have I made a mistake?"
Seol Jihu examined his appearance in the full-length mirror in his apartment.
After coming out of a sauna, he headed to a store with affordable prices for his budget.
In that, he bought a short and a shirt Hawaiian. Not only that, he even bought sunglasses...
"What the fuck was I thinking? It must all be that damn salesman's fault!"
Actually, Seol Jihu thought he would look cool, but he didn't want to admit that he had been wrong...
Not to mention that he had always been a person with zero sense of style, out of place in formal and even informal gatherings.
Besides, by the time he had left the sauna, he was already running out of time, so Seol Jihu bought it without much thought.
On the other hand, Seol Jihu began to focus on the remaining time.
'One minute less for it to be 10:30 PM...'
Seol Jihu grabbed a suitcase with various things he had prepared for the Tutorial and took a deep breath while looking at the clock on his phone.
"!"
And when the clock struck 10:30 PM, a circle of light emerged, surrounding him, until the light faded and Seol Jihu disappeared entirely.
Then, in what seemed like an instant, Seol Jihu awoke.
First, his eyes saw the worn ceiling. In the periphery of his vision the same clutter of clothes, cigarettes, and food.
However, Seol Jihu was not puzzled. He simply grabbed the suitcase and walked out of his apartment.
Seol Jihu whistled in amazement by the time he saw the dull gray sky and the completely empty streets. "It really gives a feeling of being the last person on earth."
As he looked at his surroundings, his phone vibrated, and along with the vibration, a robotic voice appeared.
[The message from the guide has arrived. We recommend that all contracted and invited confirm the message immediately]
Seol Jihu picked up the phone from his pocket and looked at the black screen obscured by his sunglasses.
[Identity confirmed. User registration has been completed]
The blacked-out screen lit up without him turning on the phone, and Seol Jihu tapped the flashing mail icon in the corner.
[Sender: The Guide]
[1: Arrive at Paradise High School assembly hall before time runs out]
[2: Time remaining - 00:09:45]
Attached to the mail was an image that turned out to be a map.
He quickly glanced at it, noticing that its location was not too far from his destination.
Although he had passed by that area a few times and there was no school by that name, he didn't think much of it either.
Thus, Seol Jihu walked in the direction indicated by the map while still intrigued by the gloomy scenery he found himself in.
Two minutes later...
The front doors were open, and next to them hung a conspicuous plaque with the name of the school, 'Paradise High School.'
If one thought about what being here would imply, it was a name that fit perfectly.
In this place, the invited and contracted would receive a glimpse of what Paradise would be like. Something akin to what was attempted to be given to students in school before entering society. Of course, most of the time, if not all the time, that attempt would prove unsuccessful.

Then, a voice sounded next to him. "That name sucks."
Seol Jihu turned his head toward the sound and stood a girl in a sweatshirt.
Her face was indifferent, and she possessed pale skin that indicated her young age. Without giving Seol Jihu a glance, she hurried through the open doors with her two hands in her pockets; her name was Yun Seora.
Due to the minute changes in his actions compared to the original Seol Jihu, what he read in the web novel was being reproduced in reality.
Mind you, it was something to be happy about. Life was full of unknowns, which was natural but also annoying.
As he thought about what would soon follow, he found the entrance to the assembly hall. Near it, murmurs could be heard from the people inside.
Also, next to the entrance stood a blonde woman dressed in a full maid's outfit. She waved her hand gracefully at him; her name was Maria Yeriel.
Seol Jihu nodded and walked up the stairs. After giving her a brief greeting and approaching her, he handed her the invitation letter.
Maria received the invitation letter and opened it. Following the review, she turned her gaze to Seol Jihu and again to the letter.
Seol Jihu laughed in amusement and said. "What, surprised?"
Maria looked at him with a pout, and by the time her expression was back to normal, she carefully folded the letter and slowly bowed in a deep bow.
The people in the assembly hall fell silent as they watched what was happening at the entrance; Maria had never acted so respectfully to they before.
However, that didn't bother her. She simply ignored the stares of the others. And guided Seol Jihu to an empty chair on the left side of the assembly hall, before smoothly retreating away as if she was riding on skates, while never turning her back to him.
During all their encounter, Maria had not said a single word, as if she were mute.
And once again, people began to murmur.
With his excellent hearing, Seol Jihu picked up words like, "What's wrong with her, why is she acting like that?" or "I wonder. She didn't do that when I showed up."
On the other hand, counting Seol Jihu, 8 people were sitting in this part: six men and two women. They were the invited.
On the right side, there were the contracted. Their number hovered around 30, and compared to the invited—they were sitting on the floor or standing.
If anything else set them apart, it was their attitudes. The invited were relatively calm, and the contracted were nervous and worried.
The difference was in the information they had. The invited were given information beforehand about what they would be facing, and the contracted were not.
'Well, you guys can relax. I won't let you die in vain. In the end, you guys will make me richer...' Seol Jihu thought with an amused smile.
"It must be fate, meeting in a place like this, why don't we introduce ourselves to each other?"
A man suddenly spoke up; he seemed bored with all the waiting. His robust, manly voice managed to get everyone's attention, including Seol Jihu.
"Hmm..." Seol Jihu's smile deepened.
On his smiling face, a dangerous gleam emanating from his eyes was hidden by the sunglasses. Anyone who knew him would know that someone was about to die.
His name was Kang Seok. If Seol Jihu had to describe him, words like an egomaniac, selfish and sadistic would be the first he would think of.
'Oh, and easy 'money' would also be a good description. Too bad that it 'money' wouldn't be useful in the short term...'
Meanwhile,
Kang Seok enjoyed being the center of attention while talking to the other invited.
At one point, he even asked Seol Jihu by name, but Kang Seok was ignored, which didn't sit well him, but he acted like he didn't seem to mind.
It was then.
When Seol jihu checked his phone to see the time, he saw the countdown from 00:00:01 to 00:00:00 and subsequently. "It's time." A voice came from the front of the hall.
