"Lieutenant Colonel Rose Noir From Special Army, if you don't mind, you can call me colonel."

Clenching her fists on the table, Rose looked at Kai casually as if trying to control the situation. Meanwhile, Kai, who had been drying himself in the fireplace, just stared at the cup of coffee Sonia poured.

Brown liquid and white liquid are poured into a glass. A small smoke that had a fragrant aroma emerged from it.

Despite having been given such a luxurious service, apparently the other person in front of Rose could only remain silent without saying anything.

Therefore, Colonel Rose looked at Sonia as a sign to be willing to give the two of them some space to talk to each other.

Sonia replied with a nod.

After Sonia left, Rose picked up the cup on the table and lifted it vertically. For a moment Rose's eyes turned to Kai, then said.

"Don't worry, this drink tastes sweet. Not like expensive drinks that have a slightly bitter but warm taste, like those given by some nobles. In fact, this drink is quite delicious when enjoyed at the right moment."

Kai just listened, his gaze now became serious.

Rose noticed that, then brought the cup to her lips.

"Of course, there's nothing in this drink that can put a person to sleep. If you want, can we exchange cups?"

(It's not bad to give a sign that one's position is enemy or not from the start. Even so, he doesn't seem to believe me.)

In the face of an interlocutor who has been very wary from the start, it would be wise to calm them down before starting a conversation. Even though Rose knew it would be difficult at some point.

Rose really felt like she was talking to herself right now. The other party was silent for a long time, as if they didn't want a long-winded conversation.

He took a sip of coffee, then put it on the table. A small white smoke came out as Rose exhaled.

Even though frankly speaking it was a good choice, but Rose rejected that choice from the start. Therefore Rose took the document on the side and then shifted it from the table in front of Kai.

"According to what I've read, some nobles often recruit villagers. They give out registration forms with a sword around one's neck, if one refuses, who knows what will happen to the village later."

Understanding hidden words, is an ability possessed by a follower. It would not be wrong to say, it was their everyday language. Rose knew that well to some extent.

As someone who has integrity, and as someone who serves the Organization. Rose has to adjust to the other person, how they say something or how they understand something.

It was all simply to avoid a one-way conversation.

"Are you involved too?"

Apparently the person on the other side started to open his mouth. Indicates that Rose's efforts paid off.

"Of course not. I'm just a person with lots of eyes and ears."

"So it was you who gave me the explosive necklace?"

"~Ahh.. That's what I meant."

(To understand the situation carefully is not an easy thing. But, he really can do it. As I would expect from the retainers.)

Drawing conclusions from vague information, was the minimum skill of a Dragon Lord follower. Up to this point, Rose could at least minimally assess competence.

This was the kind of person he needed right now.

At first Rose doubted what she got from Sonia. if he hadn't seen her in person, perhaps the choice of immediately moving Sonia elsewhere would have made the most sense.

As long as the informant provides accurate data. Rose will be happy to provide anything she needs.

Rose got up from her seat, then slowly approached Kai. Footsteps of leather shoes, giving a knocking sound from below. It knocked softly.

Just as Rose's fingers slid across the table. Kai started asking.

"If you weren't involved with them. Then why did you give me that? And why only me?"

"I don't know, unfortunately I only have one."

Naturally, if one is smart enough to notice the oddity. Then that person will suspect the giver is the main mastermind from the start. It was a simple trend and made sense given the information he got. At least in this world.

It was very difficult to associate the necklace giver with someone like Rose who never showed his face once. But if Kai is able to know or predict it, then it means.

(A Magic Swordman and Analytical type. Good, this will be easy. He must have understood the basic mindset of the people in the Guild.)

Rose smiled kindly while watching Kai's movements with narrowed eyes.

He lifted himself up and began to sit on the table. With his palms on the table and his gaze beginning to focus, They were now facing each other, Rose above and Kai below. Rose then said something.

"There was once a villager who lost someone he loved. Not long after, he got information that a group of people kidnapped him. Perhaps because of believing the sweet story of a hero who exterminated an army of demons for the sake of mankind, that person eventually tracked down the kidnappers and found their base. He departed with a sense of justice in his chest and believed in his experience as a former mercenary knight. But—"

Rose was silent for a moment then continued.

"We both know, what will happen to that person."

Kai turned to Rose. His purple eyes stared to see how Rose looked at him. Then answer.

"That person would have realized too late when dozens of blades stabbed into his stomach."

Rose smirked. The answer itself was quite appropriate, but what Rose had in mind was different from what Kai had in mind.

"To be more precise, what that stupid villager was doing, was simply being a snack for pets."

Hearing that, Kai again averted his eyes from the sweet grin of a woman.

"What do you want from me?"

Rose smirked again, To the point where it would make any man who has an oddity in his head, start to be attracted to Rose as the opposite sex.

Putting his hand in his pocket and grabbing something.

A knocking sound was heard as a small piece of metal the size of a knife but not a knife was placed on the table. It was a pistol with a 9mm bullet caliber.

A weapon that is currently rare in the world, and only a few parties have it. To Colonel Rose, it was the weapon he was most familiar with. Where he didn't have to spend time casting spells just to kill one person.

The gun slid off the table then stopped, right under Kai's head. Rose's eyes narrowed as she said softly to Kai.

"Information is power, and trust is a cornerstone that we find hard to ignore."
