Silvia and her little brother, Amich were having a joyous time in the shower despite the ordeal they went through just a few hours ago at Guillume Mountain. Aromatic bubbles were dancing all over their bodies, making them the freshest they’d ever been in their entire lives. They willingly drowned themselves in the essence of their bath to further relax their troubled minds and distract themselves from thinking about the members of their colony who were ruthlessly slaughtered by the Grand Inquisitor’s acolytes.
During the siblings relaxing bath, Amich’s keen sense of smell started picking up an array of scents separate from the scented detergent present in the bathroom. He thought Silvia should be aware of what he was smelling so he brought it to her attention. “Sister, I smell multiple warm bodies moving around outside.”
“What was that, Amich?” Listening to what her brother told her, Silvia thought it needed inspecting. Therefore, she turned off the shower and stepped out of the tub.
“Get dress Amich. I’ll go see who they are.” Covering her bosom with a towel she took from the hanger, Silvia cautiously made the door ajar and silently came out of the bathroom. She tiptoed on the floor with her moist feet leaving a wet trail behind as she moved closer to the window.
Silvia slightly shifted the curtains to the side and peeked outside the window. “Hm, who are those people?” She noticed a squadron of people garbed in black garments and some in blue hazmat suits, masked from head to toe. She also noticed them carrying around strange devices, behaving as if they were searching for something in particular.
“Could they be after us?” Silvia might have not been familiar with the customs of the current times but she wasn’t foolish. Her instincts were sharper than most humans.
Not taking any check to be discovered by the strange people outside, Silvia ran back into the bathroom and hurriedly get dressed in the fresh set of clothing that Chad had provided for her earlier. The siblings forgot to put on their footwear due to the haste they were in.
“Let’s go Amich. We’re getting out of here.” Silvia picked up her important leather bag before taking her brother’s hand and leading him to the rear exit of the house.
On their way to the back door, Amich inquired, “Are those bad people outside, sister?”
Silvia responded truthfully, “I’m not sure but my senses are telling me to run and that is what we’re doing.”
They arrived at the back door, Silvia glanced outside the window first to see if anyone was close by. When she discovered that the coast was clear, she snuck outside with her brother and trod carefully for several meters ahead until they were far enough to make a sprint for it without being noticed.

At the same time when Silvia and Amich were dashing through an orchard field at the densest part of the ranch, Chad arrived at the house looking pale-faced and concerned.
“Silvia.” He called out in a low voice as he made his way to the bathroom. It wasn’t that far so he arrived there very quickly.
“Are you inside?” The moment he asked this question, he recognized wet footprints on the floor leading 2 separate trails, one to the window and the other to the back exit. Just to confirm what he already thought, he poked his head into the bathroom and discovered that the Vaud siblings weren’t inside.
“Did they leave?” With this thought in mind, Chad followed the wet footprints until he arrived at the rear exit. They must have gone through here. A part of him was happy that the siblings were gone while another part of him was wondering if he had done the right thing by keeping their identity secret. Nevertheless, he felt relieved that the agents from the CRC wouldn’t discover them.
Deciding to keep their existence a secret, Chad reached for a mop and quickly dashed through the hallway while wiping up the wet mess. He hid the dirty shoes in a small basket that he kicked into the corner.
“Did I get everything?” As Chad was double-checking the area to make sure that he had gotten rid of all evidence that would have exposed that he had harboured the Vaud siblings, he heard a loud pounding on the door.
‘They are here!’ Chad made haste to hide the mop in the bathroom. That was when he heard a stern voice threatening to break down his door and ran there to open it.
Chad did his best to hide Silvia and Amich’s existence from the CRC agents but he failed to realize they possessed advanced technologies that could easily identify objects tainted with Outer Burst energy. These sophisticated technologies were how they quickly uncovered Chad's lies and rinsed him of all the information he had on them. They questioned him about the siblings’ whereabouts but he couldn’t give them any helpful information because he too had no idea where they went.
