Hana’s brows furrowed at the sound behind her. ‘Just when I thought I’d avoided him.’ She glanced back to find a young man.
After intruding, Turner made himself comfortable at her gateway. A lascivious smile adorned his face and a lecherous light swirled in his gaze as he ogled Hana’s figure.
At the receiving end of this, Hana’s expression stiffened. Disgust and anger surged in her heart. Still, she didn’t act on these emotions. The white band on his right arm depicting a five-pointed red star reminded her to not act recklessly.
‘He’s a pain, but I’ll put up with it. We’ll be out of this place soon.’
At this thought, Hana’s face relaxed a tad. “Turner, what business brings you here?”
“The personal kind, obviously,” Turner said, flashing his most charming smile.
“...Again, I’m not interested. Stick to those around your age.” Hana turned around. “If that’s all, please see yourself out.” Groceries in hand, she walked off.
To her, this was all that needed to be said.
For the last three weeks, Turner had been hassling her, trying to work his way into her heart…and perhaps another area. Trying and failing. Hana rejected his advances every time, yet he continued on and on and on. He was persistent, very persistent. At the shops, in the streets, in front of her house, he became an unpleasant shadow for her.
To Hana, this rejection was like any other. Turner would get demoralized and leave like he had a dozen times before.
But he wouldn't leave so easily on this day.
What she failed to take into account was the cascading effect each rejection caused in the young man's heart. Feelings of indignation and humiliation surged and fueled his anger. When combined with his carnal desire, unhinged thoughts began swimming in his head. After so many rejections, he was no different from a volcano, and with her latest rejection, he finally erupted.
'This bitch! After I was so nice to her, and she treats me like this, fine! No more playing nice.’
*Grab*
Hana’s stride was stopped dead in its tracks as his hand latched onto her wrist.
"What are...you doing?”
Hana turned back with a serious face. “Let go.” Saying in a low tone, she released her Psi.
'This bitch..'
Turner’s face twisted up at her action. Aggravated, he released his own Psi. The two auras battled to occupy the same space. The contest was shortly settled in Turner’s favour. His Rank 5 Telekinetic Psi bested Hana’s Rank 3 Psi easily, before wrapping around her figure.
Locked in place, Hana’s face tensed up. She moved to speak, but Turner prevented it.
“Silence is golden,” he said while using his free hand to cup her cheek. His eyes naturally moved to her cherry lips. The anger in his veins quickly subsided, giving way to his rising lust as his mind conjured pictures of what was to come...next.
“We could've done this the easy way, but I guess you like it hard aha, don’t worry, I won’t disappoint you. Now, let's head ins-huh, who’s this?”
Suddenly shadowed, Turner glanced up to find someone atop the roof, staring down at him.
If the anger burning in Turner's heart was likened to a red flame, Ralf’s would be a white flame. So hot, even the ocean in his eyes seemed to be evaporating in real-time. So hot, all coherent thought was incinerated to ashes.
With his enhanced hearing, Ralf had heard the two's entire interaction from all the way in the backyard. When he understood what was transpiring, he froze, then boiled. At present, Ralf was a maddened flame.
‘How…dare…this…trash…’
With bloodshot eyes, Ralf stared at the hand latched onto his mother’s wrist.
“Let go of her,” Ralf growled out in a seething tone.
Turner’s face twitched.
The anger from seconds earlier returned in full force. Their positions, the disdainful look in Ralf’s eyes, and the order; all served to agitate him even further.
Needless to say, he didn’t unhand her.
Ralf’s expression flickered as he took in the other’s inaction. ‘No no no no no no no no no good…’

His body leaned over the edge before dropping down. Landing with a hefty thud, he stood up and then approached the two. His gait was unsteady, but his gaze wasn’t.
It remained singularly focused on his mother’s wrist. All else disappeared as he tunnelled in on this alone. He stared at it unblinking, as though in a staring contest. His eyes burned with a crazed light. His face was contorted and twitching like a livid beast. It was an expression more akin to a monster than a human.
Watching his approach, Turner frowned.
‘Who is this kid?’
The sight of Ralf so casually hopping down from the roof without using any Psi stroked Turner's caution. As a Telekinetic, he feared no pure Body Enhancer, but one couldn't be too careless around them.
“You want me to let her go? Okay,..”
Saying so, Turner flung Hana to the ground.
Ralf’s eyes naturally moved to follow her figure. His concern triumphed over his anger at that moment…and this cost him. A glowing backhand suddenly raced across his vision.
Bam!
Slamming into his face, the blow sent Ralf hurling back into a rough roll that ended with him colliding with the house.
“Ralf,” Hana cried out. Propping herself up, her expression turned fierce and so did her Psi. Two Psi knives appeared in her hands, ready to slash out.
At the same time, Ralf rushed to get up. The hit had left his vision slightly blurry and his mouth trickling with blood, but this couldn’t stop him. Ignoring the dizziness, Ralf stood up violently. His anger had already broken his internal Y-axis a while ago.
Radiating a murderous aura, he set his sights on Turner. Feet against the wall and hands dug into the dirt, he readied a dash to close the distance. Images of Turner’s head being twisted off by him entered his mind. Following them, the steps necessary to reach this conclusion was conjured up.
But as he sent the signal for his body to move, an opposing signal was sent as well, causing the body to simply vibrate in place.
Understanding what this phenomenon was, his voice blasted loudly through the Mental Link.
[[Rei! What are you doing!]]
[[Calm down.]]
Instantly, the inferno in Ralf’s heart was robbed of its heat. These words, simple as they were, were delivered at a temperature seemingly below absolute zero.
This coldness wasn’t to be confused though. Ralf knew well what it meant. Unlike himself, where anger burned brightly, melting any semblance of rationality, anger turned Rei’s mind extremely cold and calculative.
Rei was seething. Ralf could feel this clearly as his emotions were being relayed via the Mental Link. Bathed in these emotions, his own frenzy diminished.
[[Rei?]]
‘Good, he’s back to normal,’ Rei thought. Eyes forward, he assessed the situation. ‘Things are getting too messy.’
Hana had entered a combat stance, posed for battle with her Psi blades. Turner responded in kind, Psi armour materialized over his body and a Psi short sword appeared in his hand. In the background, people could be seen scurrying around the streets. The noise had alerted the villagers, and a crowd was quickly forming.
[[Ralf, leave this to me. I’ll handle things,]] Rei proposed after taking everything in.
He had a high opinion of Ralf and would trust his other self to perform as well as he would…normally that is. But for this situation, he was clearly better suited to resolve it.
He understood this, and so did Ralf.
[[…okay, I'll leave it to you.]]
Following these words, Ralf didn’t only relinquish control, he returned to the Mental Space and seated himself on his couch.
‘Hmm…’
Seeing the trust placed in him, Rei’s frozen heart warmed up. ‘I won’t let you down.’
After allowing his real-time sensory data to flow Ralf’s way, he focused on completing the task at hand.
