The Raven Tail section: it was the part of the documentary the duo had been most interested in, mainly for two reasons, Micheal and Dimitri. Unlike the other Ravens who shaped history, these two shaped/were shaping the present. The duo wanted to know everything they could about the pair of Ravens.
The documentary started with introductions, introducing all ‘ten’ members and their known circumstances. It was information the duo already knew beforehand, so they mostly focused on the images of the legendary figures flashing across their mind's eyes.
Just like Kai, they were all teenagers, though their faces wouldn’t have you peg them as such. Looking at them, one would be convinced they were in their mid-twenties.
That said, while they were extraordinary, the thick and dreary coating of reality on their person wasn’t unique to them. All who lived/survived the Great Scramble had a dark cloud hanging over their heads. Even during the happiest of times, a hardened light swirled in people's eyes, the Ravens being no exception.
Concluding introductions, the Great Scramble’s undoing was shown. The duo sat in awe at what they witnessed it. They had read about Raven Tail’s dominance, but seeing it for themselves was eye-opening, literally. Seeing them and Kai in action, the duo once again reminded themselves of their current weakling status.
Mountains shattered with a single blow, bolts of lightning hundreds of metres wide, dozens of tornadoes summoned in an instant, lakes of water descending from the sky, whole towns beings flash-frozen…
God-like feats were aplenty.
Raven Tail had a habit of recording themselves, resulting in dozens of videos. As the worldwide telepathic network was being established, they flooded these videos of themselves and their activities to all parts of Inis, to spread awareness of their capabilities and their message to end the Great Scramble.
It wasn’t just of work either, many off-times were recorded as well. The latter was of the greatest interest to the duo. Joking around, chatting, sparring, and playing games; watching these videos, the legendary ‘makeup’ fell off the Ravens and their true identities as a mishmash of teenagers revealed itself.
The Micheal of that time, yet to discover his creation abilities, was shy and sheepish, nothing like the confident Ascendant he would later become. The Junior Sage had the same handsome face though, which had earned him the title, 'Radiant Face'. Besides that, everything else about Micheal was completely different from what the duo and the rest of the world considered him to be.
One of the major things people focused on when viewing these videos, was spotting the warning signs for Dimitri’s later betrayal. There were undoubtedly signs, at least from Dantry.
The duo assessed Dimitri and Dantry as well. When looking at the former, they found themselves baffled. The handsome youth was charismatic, calm and jovial. He held the respect of everyone he spoke to, and radiated a clear warmth and kindness to him, and also a mysterious strength.
The duo could easily see the future Bellusian Army Supreme Commander in him. What they couldn’t see was the unparalleled monster he would later become. Observing how he interacted with Mira pained the duo. Love was palpable in the air surrounding the two, this fact was undeniable, so knowing how it ended hurt the duo's hearts.
While they couldn’t see any warning signs in Dimitri, Dantry, his second vessel, was nothing but warning signs. In all the videos he was in, he would be alone, head in a book, wearing a blank expression, all the while radiating a miasma-like aura.
Other Ravens would approach him and try to make conversation, only for him to completely ignore them, treating them like the passing wind - no, passing gas.
Had it not been for the tragedy that was the Great Scramble, these signs might have stood out, but alas, Dantry's gloominess and antisocial behaviour were extremely prevalent during these times.
Dimitri and Dantry.
There were many theories regarding the eventual betrayal. The leading one was that the Dimitri twin represented Dimitri's good side while the Dantry twin represented Dimitri's evil side and that the two sides had fought for supremacy. Given what transpired, it's believed that the Dantry twin emerged victorious in the clash.
The duo didn't speculate about the Raven too much; too many details were in the dark to do so. The documentary didn't either and quickly moved on.
Next and finally, the War of the End.

War was Hell: this saying was no more true than for the War of the End. The duo was treated to graphic displays of violence, gore and destruction.
Humans versus aresians - no demons; for the first time, the duo were able to truly understand this term’s prevalence. Their savagery and wickedness were on full display, with dozens of videos showcasing them feasting on human flesh with bloodstained smiles on their faces.
It was a hard watch for the duo. Seeing their fellow man slaughtered in mass, and even feasted upon, stirred something dark in them. Luckily, Raven Tail and the Bellusian Army stepped up to raise their moods. Watching the tides turn felt good, even fulfilling in a way, and caused the duo to entertain the idea of making an anime about the whole event.
At the same time, the duo examined the various aresians in view. In terms of looks, aresians didn’t differ too much from humans. Aresians varied quite a bit, with the only common point being their red eye colour.
Aresians had four pure races, which were conveniently differently coloured.
Besides their colours, each pure race had a defining feature (s).
Red aresians, besides being various shades of red, had reptilian-like tails. Blue aresians were tailless but had a single small horn protruding from the middle of their foreheads. Purple aresians were a ‘best of both’ situation, having both a horn and a tail. They were rarer than Blue and Red aresians and boasted the best physical stats of the pure races.
On the other end of this spectrum, were the White aresians. They were the albinoes of aresiankind. They fared better than human albinoes but not by much.
Out of the four pure races, White aresians bore the closest resemblance to humanity, in a bad way. They had no tails or horns, and their physical stats were comparable to humans too. White aresians were frail by aresian standards and had a weakness to heat and light, just like human albinos. In the cut-throat might-makes-right aresian society, these attributes didn’t do them any favours, resulting in very few numbers. Also, they didn’t have any special abilities involving electromagnetic energy.
While recalling these facts about White aresians, the duo found themselves deeply curious about the special white aresian that was used as a model for their White Asura inheritance.
Whatever it was, it ran counter to everything they learned in their textbooks. They made a mental note to ask Micheal about it, being sure that there was an interesting tale to be told about the original White Asura.
The last thirty minutes of the documentary were dedicated to humanity’s counter-attack, the wrapping up of the war and the aftermath, including Dimitri’s betrayal.
Of everything the documentary had shown, the last segment involving Dimitri had been the hardest to endure. The despicable method he used to kill Mira was unforgivable in the duo’s - and everyone’s books.
Dark emotions bubbled within them as they viewed the documentary's coverage of the act. Deep down inside, a silent declaration was made. It wouldn’t be today or tomorrow, but someday in the future, they would rid the world of its shadow.
Following the documentary's end, the duo thanked George for his service and left the library, their moods dragging on the floor. There were several other interesting videos that they wanted to watch, especially the ones about Micheal, but they decided to watch them another time.
Thoughts and emotions coloured in dark hues, the duo sought a distraction and decided on their go-to. Ralf returned to his student dorm room and made himself comfortable on the bed before shifting to the Mental Space. The duo then entered a long string of duels, which did much to clear away the sludge from their hearts. Afterwards, Ray and Ralf went on to work on anime and games, respectively.
At 9 pm, Ralf met up with the group at the hotel, and just like their previous get-together, minus the introductions, the group played, watched, drank and snacked till the next day, merrily and without a care in the world.
The sight of their carefree faces and bright smiles was the best medicine for the duo, whose minds continued to replay the earlier documentary in the back of their heads. They found themselves appreciating their current circumstances that bit more.
