Chapter 6.1. Ladies and Gentleman
Three times in the next half month. Each time, Stanley would accompany me for an hour or so to practice dancing.
I was no longer embarrassed to the point of not being able to dance, but in contrast to my still nervousness, he never showed any embarrassment or any other kind of emotion on his face.
It was really frustrating.
It’s okay, I told myself. He’s going to see me as a woman after we get married.
That’s all I could think about, and more questions come to my mind.
Did I want Stanley to see me as a woman?
Did I want to kiss Stanley and do other things with him?
I spent my days floating around in a daze with no answers, and when I thought that my body was somehow hot without Stanley, I had my first fever in a long time.
I was so used to it that I could tell just by the symptoms at the beginning of a fever. This time I was just tired and it wouldn’t get much worse.
As expected.
“The fever has gone down quite a bit.”
Aishe smiled reassuringly as she took the thermometer that I was holding in my hand while sitting on the bed.
It has been four days since I had a fever, and I was sure it would be completely gone by the day after tomorrow.
“It was no big deal after all, was it? I was just a little overexcited.”
“I see.”
“…Was I that excited?”
“Yes, very much. Especially in front of Mr. Arliss.”
Without thinking, I got up on my knees on the bed and buried my face in it.

“I’m so embarrassed. I want to dig a hole.”
After that, I wanted to be buried in that hole.
“When your fever is completely gone, you can go to the garden. It’s just the time to plant spring flowers, which will help the gardener.”
“Speaking of Mr. Arliss…”
When I looked up, Aishe, whose eyes met mine, lifted the corner of her mouth in a smirk before continuing.
“He’s very worried about you and has been hanging around in front of our room.”
I could almost imagine it, and it made me smile. He has always been a worrier.
I knew why. For about ten days after I first met him, I was on the verge of life and death. I was told that if I had another major seizure, I would not survive.
It was a miracle that I am alive today, but it must have been a shocking event for him.
“Ask him to come in.”
He would be relieved to see me already up and talking to him. There were no symptoms of infection.
But Aishe shook her head with a difficult expression.
“Even though he’s going to be your fiancée soon, I can’t have him in your bedroom.”
I shrugged my shoulders.
“He used to come and go as often as he could.”
“My Lady. The two of you have grown up very well. You’ve both grown up and become a lady and a gentleman.”
“Ladies don’t dig holes in the garden, though.”
“Have you noticed? Have you noticed that Mr. Arliss has not been around My Lady much lately?”
