Standing in the doorway and gleaming down at his Generals, the Lords of the Darkthouched, the 'Demonkind', the 'Demis', or as they were referred to as of recently by mankind: the 'Filth'; a robust giant clad in dark metal armor bereft his horned head and long, black mane cascading below his shoulders, drooping over his back stood like a statue.

His ebony, dark skin, those, deep, dandelion-tinted eyes that burned like two brimstones only added further support to his already dominant, proud stature. Four large, curved ebony horns protruded from the upper regions of his skull, starting from his temples and reaching towards the skies.

This fearsome creature was none other than Cahal, the Demon God, leader of all the non-human collective, and the present Lords.

As the room ascended into a sudden silence, either by his abrupt intrusion, or his perplexing words. Every eye, each gaze was focused on the robust giant lost in his confident smile.

"Yes, my brothers, and sisters…" He began to speak again, taking dominant strides towards the leading seat, the biggest and most dominant throne sitting at the helm of the room.

Arriving there, he took his seat, resuming his speech whilst slowly scanning the stunned faces of his generals. He seemed to enjoy their bewildered, puzzled looks, akin to a gourmet savoring a good wine or a filling, sumptuous meal.

"This endless war that ravaged our lands and tormented our people for more than a century will soon come to an end! The long-sought conclusion is just in front of us! We only need to grasp it hard, and not let go of the opportunity!"

A sudden bump on the road sent Aziel to fly up from his seat, bringing him back from his reminiscing.

"Ehrm…" A meek, timid voice of the teenage girl reached his ears once more. As he slowly turned his bored-looking gaze towards the girl, she shuddered suddenly, making the questions she wanted to ask again, freeze in her.

She hurriedly averted her gaze, whilst fixing the frame of her glasses nervously.

"What is it… child?" Aziel asked, forming a polite-looking smile on his face. "What is it that bothers you? Do not be afraid to ask. You especially should never fear me."

"Ehrm…" Myra gulped again, fixating her to the insides of the bus. "I-I…" She stuttered, not being able to form anything meaningful.

"A-Aziel, she wanted to ask what are your next plans? Do you have anywhere to go at all?" Growing annoyed by this timid, frightened friend of theirs, Jake sighed and finally spoke up, asking the question the girl herself was just unable to do so.

"Hmm…" Aziel flashed a mysterious smile at the question, returning his attention to the window once again. For a bit, he watched as their vehicle drove through the traffic, soon taking a temporary stop at a bus stop.

He watched with interest as people stepped out, only for a new group of figures to replace them.

"A-Aziel?" Not receiving any answer, Jake asked for the strange, peculiar boy's attention again. Though he acted rather weird, neither of them dared to show any signs of frustration or annoyance. Having seen what monstrosities he was capable of, they didn't dare to irk him.

Heck, they weren't even sure what he was. Some escaped secret experiment of the government? A comic book story coming to life? An entity from some far-flung place of the universe, outside their galaxy? They didn't know, though their imagination was running wild with theories ever since they had glimpsed on his ferocious combat strength.

The way he ripped apart a dozen armed gang bangers, was like a dance of its own. Murder perfected to the point of becoming an art style of its own!

Yet, the most pressing thought that they each shared and wished for an answer desperately… at the same time, the knowing it was probably the biggest taboo and just couldn't be worded, was how he seemingly 'ate' that brawny, bandanaed man.

Oh, what they wouldn't give to shed some light on the mystery!

Deep in thought, suddenly a loud ringtone wrenched the boy's as well as Aziel out of their reverie.

Jake reached for his jeans' back pocket. He glanced at the caller ID which read: Mom!

"Jake? FINALLY!" A loud exclaim came from the other end. The mature woman's voice exploded with worry in the next moment. "WHERE WERE YOU, MISTER?! I was worried sick ever since the news came! Why did you turn your phone off? I was just about to contact the police!"

Hearing his mother's harsh voice for the first time since surviving all the morning's ordeals, a warm current through Jake's body; tears welled at the corner of his eye.

He wasn't sure how to even begin recounting his tale, but finally felt some relief hearing the worry and concern in his mother's tone.

Taking a moment, he sighed to calm his nerves before responding to the barrage of questions.

"Mom, I get it. I'm sorry, I have no idea why you couldn't reach me. We are all fine… nothing bad happened."

"Where are you now? Is Jay and Myra with you?" Jake's mother's question came in the next second, right after an audible hefty sigh.

"Y-yes they are here… Hey guys, say something so mom can calm down.." He turned to her friend's with a questioning gaze.

"Good Day, Mrs. Green." Jay spoke up, sending his greeting first.

"Mmm… G-good M-m-morning Mrs. G-green." Myra took a few extra seconds before she could gather her wits to the point of stuttering a timid greeting. After blurting it out, she hurriedly swayed her gaze towards the inside once again, still not having the mental prowess to look in the mysterious boy's direction. Not until she could somehow quell the chaos raging in her heart at the very least.

"Right. At least you guys are all saf-" Jake's mother, Mrs. Green noticeably calmed down after hearing all three members of their little group safe and sound despite the historical disaster, the eruption of their nearby mountain, Greytop Mountains.

"Good Morning, Mrs. Green."

Before she could finish her thought, suddenly another voice reached into the phone. It was youthful, somewhat similar to his son's yet it was definitely coming from someone else.

'Hmm… They finally got another friend after all these years? Thank god…" Not minding it too much, she shrugged her shoulders, not bothered to ask about the fourth voice for now. The more they had the safer they were, she thought.

Still, in sight of the dangers, she couldn't calm down until they returned. Giving it a light cough, she spoke up again.

"Ehrm.. Anyway, you still didn't answer the question young man! Where are you?! Get yourself home right as soon as you can, don't wander around!"

"M-mom…" Jake wanted to complain, but once again, before he could even begin, her mother exploded on the other end again.

"Don't you begin, mister! Haven't you seen the news yet? It's not safe out there, come home immediately! You can even bring your friends as well! I will call Jay's and Myra's parents as well, they must be just as worried as well."

Taking only a momentary pause, she spoke again in the next second.

"As for your new friend, I'm sure his parents are also looking for him. Don't loaf around anymore, you hear me?!"

"Y-yes, Mom. We are already sitting on the bus… Ah, we are just about to reach the station!"

---

While Jake was busy calming the mama tiger, and Aziel was engrossed in his reflection of his past life, the bus arrived at the destination.

As they got off the bus, Aziel looked at the flood of people passing by him at the bus terminal, reality finally hit him. He finally wasn't alone! After myriad years of loneliness, he was finally back to a time where he could start embarking on his quest for power and vengeance!
