A thin, skinny little boy, looking even younger than those three Aziel had come in contact first when he woke up, stood in the place where Aziel's figure was just a few seconds ago.

The boy had a scrawny, lean, and malnourished visage, sort of a child beggar that one could see in the underpasses and the metro stations. Although the fact that his skin was just as glossy, shining white as before, pale even... as well as his albeit ruffled but, at the same time shining silver locks of hair would have directly contradicted that fact.

Raising his small hands with their palms facing towards him, Aziel took a couple of seconds to carefully scrutinize his new outlook.

'Not bad, I guess...' He expressed inwardly showing an appreciative smirk as if stamping his 'approval' on the transformation. 'It seems I have claimed enough genetic material to alter my appearance according to my needs.'

"Still a bit too vibrant... I can't go out like this, I'm basically glowing like a lantern..." He muttered, noticing that his most defining features have been retained.

Closing his eyes, he once again focused on the ball of human essence deep inside his soul, revolving as the farthest and at the same time, latest orbiting the central core, the now [Aether] infused central core.

'Now... if I remember correctly from before, if I channel the orb's essence while infusing a bit of [Mana] into the mix, I was able to alter my current appearance with some small changes. Though I no longer have access to [Mana], hopefully, this [Aether] will do the trick just as fine...' He pondered, focusing on turning the theory into reality next.

He channeled the orb's essence, revolving it inside his body, whilst he also gathered a small wisp of [Aether] from his ever-growing resource pool and channeled the two together, focusing on changing the color of his hair.

The surface of Aziel's body wobbled yet again, as he focused on his unique trait and attempted to recreate yet another skill from his last life. Soon, the ripples began to calm down, only for his hair to suddenly gradually lose its silvery shine.

As if the bright moon under the previously clear night sky was suddenly mysteriously changed, dark clouds appearing to block the silver orb high above, so did his hair gradually, slowly losing its beauty.

Darkness, as if the taint of despair appeared at the edges, gradually creeping higher, further along, their already set path of the venture. They greedily gobbled up the allotted space, as the silver shine gradually vanished, turning into ebony, matte darkness in its place.

His hair, which after his transformation have also lost its cascading length, and instead could only reach its owner's shoulders, has completely changed in a couple of seconds, now perfectly melding into the night with its matching pigmentation.

Heaving a sigh, Aziel stopped actively revolving and channeling his energy, allowing it to return to its calm state once again. A couple of beads of sweat perspired on his forehead, as he reached for them with his arm only to smear them all along his forearm.

"Huah... This took much more out of me than I had wanted to..." He sighed, muttering to himself. "I am still not good enough, handling [Aether] is much harder compared to Nova's [Mana]. It's so complex... unlike anything I have ever seen..."

Raising his hands again, he clicked his tongue with a scorning, dissatisfied expression on his face. "I have drained way too much of my own reserves... I can't even change my skin color anymore, it would drain me too much."

He grumbled for a bit, before getting ready, and shifting his attention to the manor's grounds in front of them.

"It should still work fine, I guess. Even though my knowledge of this strange 'modern' world is still quite lacking, I can just use what I am best at and get better along the way..." Aziel sneered before his face shifted to a cold, insipid neutral, focused look.

He released another invisible pulse of energy to spread around himself, spreading to its surroundings and gradually forming a layout in his mind. He focused on the life signatures that appeared one after another, before ignoring most of them. They came from around him, mostly residents, citizens that have little to no use for Aziel.

He focused only on those signatures that were stronger than the average, showing either abnormal vitality or ferocity that made them stand above the common folk.

With the lack of proper cultivators he had come in contact with as of yet, Aziel wasn't too afraid to suddenly stumble upon one. From what he had seen from his short few meetings, the most that, at the very least, this small county could offer were Martial Grandmasters, which were still at most still equivalent to Peak Mortal Realm cultivators.

Basically the younglings, the children of his old world...

Still, even those could be quite troublesome to deal with, as with him still not being completely accustomed to using [Aether], his skillset was still quite lacking. He would have to resort in utilizing his physical traits, which wouldn't be as subtle as he would like it to be.

Transforming into a hulking amalgamation of primordial beasts wouldn't be the wisest method of subterfuge. Still, if things go sour, he could always use his abilities honed through the millions of years of the prehistoric era to get the job done.

Ultimately, he did not care about these wretched creatures too deeply. The only reason he was even mingling with them was that they had their uses towards reclaiming all that was taken from him.

He will find his back to his old world and enact his vengeance, his wrath upon those treacherous, scheming... conniving brothers and sisters of his!

...

After a couple more pulses, Aziel had more or less mapped out a route deeper inside the manor grounds, closer to the central, main building, which he would have to utilize other methods for finding a way inside. The strange, mysterious wards that protected the structure blocked each of Aziel's attempts to scan it. No matter how much and how hard he tried, he couldn't penetrate the magical barrier.

Still, Aziel wasn't too worried. His failure to invade the building premises with his scanning skill that he aptly nicked as [Aetheric Sense], did not mean he had no means to find out what was waiting for him inside.

No. Far from it. The patrolling juicy mounds of meat, the guards of the premises would surely know a thing or two... Aziel would just have to get a bit more direct and physical and grab a bite or two along the way....
