51 – try to kill me, i kill

ON NOVEMBER 21, 2021 BY MOONCHILDKHZ

Putong!

Wei Yile’s head tumbled across the martial arts stage. His face still showed a happy expression, though it was now tinged with surprise.

The happy expression was inherent.

The surprise was from seeing Jun Changxiao create an afterimage and avoid his attack.

A martial artist of the Meridian Opening Realm had such quick speed. Was it possible that he himself was the inadequate one?

That was the last thought that crossed Wei Yile’s mind before he died. Then his head was lopped off and his thoughts were annihilated, and the man left the earth without suffering much pain.

What was most extravagantly insulting was…

After Jun Changxiao killed him, he’d asked, “Elder Wei, this blade, is it real or not real?

Very real!

Unfortunately, Wei Yile was thoroughly dead and could neither hear the question nor provide a response.

Putong!

The headless corpse knelt on the ground and collapsed with a loud thud, splattering blood upon the stage.

“Third Brother!” Wei Yiai cried out. His mind was instantly dominated by red-hot anger and he pulled out his own spear, stabbing towards Jun Changxiao.

Hu! Hu!

The spear was covered in spiritual energy, moving with an irresistible force. It slashed through the air like a hot knife through butter.

Jun Changxiao smiled coldly and took a step to the side, leaving another after image where he had just been.

He had obviously slowed down his speed.

In fact, when he killed Wei Yile, his speed was not completely released either. That was because City Lord Xie was watching — the full speed would be a little too shocking.

More importantly, if his performance was too exaggerated, Second Elder Wei would certainly not have the courage to rush forward.

“Die!”

Jun Changxiao, who had avoided the attack, hadn’t stopped yet.

Wei Yiai’s attacks were like roaring dragons, puncturing through the air as the spiritual energy exploded.

If you touched the spear, you would inevitably meet a cruel death!

Jun Changxiao kept his speed in a controllable range and circled left, wielding the Azure Dragon Naginata to sweep over.

Bang!

Wei Yiai had quick reflexes and used the spear to horizontally block in front of him, but the shaft was cut in half.

There was no time for him to grieve his beloved weapon, as he quickly retreated several steps. He barely avoided another swipe from the naginata.

Now, what if Jun Changxiao were to ask Wei Yiai if the Azure Dragon Naginata was the real deal?

The elder would definitely answer that it was real! After all, the quality of his own spear was extraordinary. But even with the spiritual energy buff, it had still been cut in half by the naginata.

Jun Changxiao was unforgiving as he advanced, swinging the naginata. In an instant, he had disappeared and left behind another phantom.

“Not good!” Wei Yiai was panicking.

But no sooner had he thought that was there a pain from the nape of his neck. With a whoosh, his head flew off his body.

Putong!

Wei Yiai’s head dropped onto the stage, right by Wei Yile’s. On his face was a fierce expression. Obviously he had experienced some pain before dying.

Jun Changxiao stood before the headless body and stabbed the bloodstained naginata into the ground.

“Those that try to kill me, I kill.”

These simple words paired with a murderous intent, creating an exceptionally imposing aura.

City Lord Xie’s expression had solidified. Obviously he had not expected that the two Martial Disciple Realm elders from the Spirit Spring Sect would die under Jun Changxiao’s blade!

“City Lord, according to the investigation, Zhou Tianba and the other 200 bandits were all beheaded by a single, sharp blade.”

That was what his subordinates reported. Recalling it, City Lord Xie darkly thought, Is it possible that he really destroyed the Black Wind Stronghold by himself?

Putong!

Wei Yiai’s headless corpse fell to the ground, blood pooling around the body.

Jun Changxiao put the naginata away.

“My apologies. The blood of two people has smeared this martial arts arena.”

“Sect Head Jun.” City Lord Xie curiously asked, “So unexpectedly mysterious. What kind of footwork did you just use?”

“Phantom Step,” answered Jun Changxiao.

“Phantom Step? Why have I never heard of it?”

City Lord Xie’s question obviously meant that he was indifferent to the death of the two Wei brothers.

Swords do not have eyes, fight at your own risk.

This had been clearly stated before the fight started, so of course he wouldn’t care afterwards.

The reward had been received and the enemies had also been killed so Jun Changxiao said, “City Lord Xie, there is still work to do in the sect. This Jun will leave first.”

City Lord Xie glanced at the bodies of the two Wei brothers. “Sect Head Jun has killed two Spirit Spring Sect elders. This enmity is absolutely irreconcilable.”

“They attacked me first,” Jun Changxiao said.

City Lord Xie shook his head. “The Spirit Spring Sect is supported by the Holy Spring Sect. They won’t reason with you about what is right or wrong.”

Jun Changxiao shrugged and indifferently responded, “This Jun is not afraid of trouble. If they dare to provoke me again, I will respond tit for tat.”

As he said so, his eyes exuded a rich killing intent.

“Farewell.”

Jun Changxiao cupped his hands and then turned around.

Looking at the departing figure, City Lord Xie stroked his chin. “This boy is not an impostor.”

That mysterious footwork from a moment ago… If he used that and an extraordinary weapon, it is highly possible that he single handedly destroyed the Black Wind Stronghold.

How did Jun Changxiao complete the side mission a moment ago?

It was not because City Lord Xie believed his nonsensical story, but because the man had carefully thought the situation over after seeing the Azure Dragon Naginata.

City Lord Xie believed that it was impossible for Jun Changxiao to have rushed up the mountain, happening to be the first person after the stronghold had been destroyed. If that was the case, he wouldn’t have known the bandits had all died. Climbing the mountain would have been sure death!

That left the second reason.

When the stronghold was destroyed, Jun Changxiao must have been on the scene. Perhaps he killed them himself, or was acquainted with an expert who helped him!

City Lord Xie thus came to this conclusion, fulfilling the side mission requirements.

Now that he saw Jun Changxiao display Phantom Step, he firmly believed that the bandits were destroyed by him.

“This fellow,” City Lord Xie shook his head. “In order to not expose your strength you created a story about spirits and possession. Do you take this City Lord as a three-year-old child?”

On the other hand…

“This child has such a mysterious technique. Perhaps it is not entirely false to say that the sect had an ancient history.”

Yeah…

It was said that all lies stemmed from the truth.

You could not blame the intelligent City Lord Xie for having some doubts.

Jun Changxiao’s speed just now was too fast. Whether it was the so-called Phantom Step or the wild stories about spirits, it was obvious that a sect with no background wouldn’t be able to have such a mysterious technique.

Lu Qianqian, after cultivating the Tendon Altering Sutra, had also momentarily wondered if the Ironbone Sect really had ancient history.

“Whatever the truth is, it would be best not to provoke this decisively-murdering fellow.”

City Lord Xie did not fear Jun Changxiao. Instead, he was curious. If the Ironbone Sect truly had such history, would it rise again under Sect Head Jun’s management?

After Jun Changxiao left the city lord’s mansion, he did not immediately leave Qingyang City. Instead, he went to the bank and exchanged the treasures from the Black Wind Stronghold’s treasure vault for cash.

At first, he had speculated that the treasures had a total value of 10,000 taels. After he exchanged them though, he actually obtained 30,000 taels of silver.

This was also only the treasures. Inside his storage ring were also piles of gold.

If I count the reward from the city lord, I should have 50,000 taels now.

A respected family could make over 50,000 taels of silver by not doing anything. Still, to the poor Ironbone Sect, this was a great sum of money.

“Ah.” Jun Changxiao stretched as he walked out of the bank. “It feels great to be rich.”

Shua!

Suddenly, a petite girl ran from the side in a panic, almost running into him.

Jun Changxiao subconsciously patted his pockets, realizing that she had not robbed him. “Running so fast, are you rushing to reincarnation?”

Gah!

The girl screeched to a stop and turned around, joy on her face. “Sect Head Jun!”

“Do you know me?”

Shua!

Shua!

At this moment, several imposing cultivators appeared from the sides, rapidly surrounding him and the girl.

The man in front shouted some verbal abuse. “Motherfucker, you actually made this daddy run—”

His voice suddenly died!

That was because a blade was suddenly pointed right at his neck.

Jun Changxiao held the blade as he smiled. “Friend, your mouth is full of such vulgar language, not very polite. Moreover, you should have more dignity when speaking to women.”
