Chapter 163: Chapter 59: Mythomagic Match

Rin just learned the ruleset and called for a waitress. He then asked to buy a deck of Mythomagic cards. The waitress then gives him a golden box with 13 symbols on it. Rin then looks at Nico with a smile.

“Ready?” Rin asked. “Born Ready,” Nico said with a smile. They both then put their decks to the side and drew six cards each. Nico then flipped a coin and got tails meaning Rin would go first.

Rin smiles as he looks at his cards. He makes sure to draw one. “Icarus, down the center,” Rin said with a smile, placing down a fighter in his center (Icarus- Attack:1000   Health:3000   Hateful Sun (Special ability): Once activated, the player may now draw two cards instead of two for the rest of the game, and when the environment is changed to sunny, then all flying fighters can no longer fly.   Curse: This fighter will be destroyed the next turn)

Rin then activates Icarus’s special ability. Nico’s face becomes a bit serious as drawing more cards can be a major help. Rin then ends his turn. Nico draws a card and starts to think about his next move.

Nico then places down three cards. He places down an Argus to his far right (Argus- Attack:100   Health:500   Eyes Everywhere (Special Ability): Can be activated once every turn to see one card in your opponent's hand). He then places down a Cerberus to his far Left (Cerberus- Attack:500   Health:3000   Three Heads(Special Ability): Can attack three times instead of once.   Feast(Special Ability): Activates when Cerberus kills an opponent fighter, healing the player by 500). He finally places an Alcyoneus on his center (Alcyoneus- Attack:500   Health:2500   Home Ground(Special Ability): If Alcyoneus can live for 5 turns, he will become immortal and be unable to be killed, but will be disabled once the environment is changed, then he must live another 5 turns).

Nicon then activates Argus’s ability and picks one of the cards in Rin’s hand to see. Rin then flips it over just to show a normal shield spell. Nico just ignores it and then attacks Icarus with Argus. Icarus’s health goes down to 2900. He then tells Alcyoneus to attack Icarus. Icarus’s health goes down to 2400. Finally he orders Cerberus to attack Icarus with all three of his attacks. Icarus was barely holding on with 900 Health left. Nico then ended his turn.

Rin then drew two cards and smiled at his hand. Though he sadly had to discard Icarus due to his curse. He places down two Cerberus on his left and right. He then places two cards to his very left and very right. He put an Apollo on his far right (Apollo- Attack:1000   Health:3500   God Of Healing(Special Ability): Can heal the player for 300 health every turn   Never Meant To Be(Special Ability): This card can be sacrificed with Daphne allowing the player to draw five cards from the discard pile). He placed Daphne on his very left (Daphne- Attack:100   Health:1000   Tree Grave(Special Ability): When Daphne falls dies, a tree will be left behind with 0 attack and 3000 health   Never Meant To Be(Special Ability): This card can be sacrificed with Apollo allowing the player to draw five cards from the discard pile).

When Nico saw the two being placed down, he realized that Rin could easily get all the cards that will die the next turn back. Though his face became completely pale when he saw the next card Rin placed down.

Rin placed down a Kronos card right in his center (Kronos- Attack:0   Health:∞   Vengeance(Special Ability): When Kronos dies, all other fighter do 2* the damage   Time Rewind: Every Time an Opponent's fighter is killed, the player gets another turn when their turn ends   Curse: Will die after 3 turns, counts the turns given by Time Rewind).  That card was very overpowered and could easily end the game in one turn. Though he soon calmed down as he thought that since Rin was new he did not know how to use the card to its best potential.

Rin then told the Cerberus on his left to go and attack Nico’s Alcyoneus. This left it with 1000 health. Rin then finishes it off with Apollo. He also healed 300 health thanks to Apollo’s ability, leaving Rin with 2800 health. The Cerberus to his Right then goes and attacks Nico. This left him with 1000 health. He then lastly tells Daphne to attack Argus, leaving it with 400 health. Though instead of ending his turn Rin’s turn started again thanks to Time Rewind.

Rin drew another two cards. He then tells his Right Cerberus to attack Argus, fully killing him with one attack. Cerberus’s Feast ability activated and gave Rin another 500 health, leaving Rin with 3300 health. He then sends his right cerberus to attack Nico but Nico places down a card instead. The card placed down was the shield spell Aegis (Aegis (Player Rigged) - When the player is under attack, block all damage, and petrify enemy fighters, effectively killing it). Rin’s Cerberus was then sent to the discard pile. Rin then chose to use Apollo’s ability once again and heal another 300 health, leaving him at 3600 health before making him attack Nico’s Cerberus leaving it with 2000 health. Rin once again activated Kronos’s Time Rewind ability.

Rin then draws another 2 cards. Rin makes Apollo shoot Nico’s Cerberus who now has 1000 health. Finally Rin makes his Cerberus kill Nico’s Cerberus, killing it in two hits. Cerberus Feast ability then activates giving Rin another 500 health, who now has 4100 health. Rin then attacks Nico with Cerberus' last attack leaving him with 500 health. Rin then activates Apollo’s ability giving him 300 more health making him reach 4400 health. Then for the last time activating Time Rewind, before discarding Kronos.

Rin draws 2 more cards. Rin attacks Nico with Cerberus but Nico plays down another card. The card he placed was the player rigged spell, Eternal Damnation (Eternal Damnation(Player Rigged): When the player is under attack from a fighter, kill that fighter and discard a card from your opponent's hand   Cost:300 Health). Rin’s Cerberus was destroyed, and Nico’s health went down to 200. Nico then chose a card from Rin’s hand and he got lucky as it was an Aegis spell card. Nico had one card left but it seemed he was not worried. Rin could already guess it was a shield spell so he could not kill him this turn. Instead Rin sacrifices Apollo and Daphne to activate their ability and bring back 5 cards from the discard pile. Though doing this meant he had no more fighters on the field, so Rin finally ended his turn.

Nico only had one card in his hand. He drew one card and his face completely changed. He placed down one card with a huge smile on his face. This card was Hades (Hades- Attack:3000   Health:5000   Soul Steal(Special Ability): A normal attack would heal half the damage dealt   Last Breath(Special Ability): The player can choose to destroy this card allowing them to do 4000 magic damage (5000 if player was hurt since last turn) in one attack). Rin would have been safe if there was a fighter protecting him but since his center was wide open he was in danger. The reason being Magic damage cannot be blocked by normal shield spells and can only be blocked by very rare spell cards. Rin could already guess what Nico was going to do.

Nico activates Hades’ Last Breath ability. He dropped his Hades card into the discard pile. Then he attacked Rin with 5000 damage. Though instead of frowning Rin smiled and showed one card. It was the spell card Equality (Equality- When the player takes more than 3500 damage in one attack both players will equal the same amount of health after the damage is calculated). Rin’s health after the damage is zero so that meant Nico’s health would be zero as well. Nico seeing both of their health go to zero counted it as a finished game and stretched out his hand for a good game. Though Rin had other plans as Rin showed one last card. He showed the spell card Thanatos Blessing (Thanatos Blessing- When a player's health reaches 0 activate this card and would instead have 500 health). Rin’s health then became 500. Rin then smiled and reached out and shook Nico’s hand.

Nico could only shake his head at such a turn of events. Though he was excited that there was someone who could give him a run for his money. Bianca on the other hand was looking back and forth at the card. She was still thinking about what just happened but failed to understand the game. “But he went 4 turns in one go, and then you killed him but he did not die but instead you died,” Bianca said, completely confused. Rin could see steam coming out of Bianca’s head. Rin just smiled and patted her head. Bianca calmed down in an instant and also felt as if she was safe and cared for. Though once Bianca realized what Rin was doing, she blushed red and quickly shook her head, shaking his hand off. Rin just smiled at her actions.

“Well I got to go and pick up my buddies, hope you guys enjoy the rest of your day,” Rin said before getting up and starting to walk away. Nico felt a bit sad that he could not play one more game with Rin. Bianca felt a bit of longing and sadness when Rin was leaving but she held herself back. Though her heart jumped when she saw Rin turn around and walk back to them.

“I forgot to give you guys something,” Rin said before bringing out three things. He brought out a Skull Ring, a necklace with a black rose hanging from it, and finally a necklace with a pitch black ore hanging from it. He gave Nico the Ring. “This ring will give you luck in many situations,” Rin explained. He turns to Bianca and tells her to turn around. Bianca listens and Rin puts the necklace on her. Bianca turns around only to reveal the huge blush on her face. “This has the same effect as his skull ring, except this one will protect you from many unlucky situations,” Rin explained. “Now this one will find its owner as long as you take it with you,” Rin told them. Though what he did not tell them was that wearing the items would allow them to actually escape the time loop and age while they stay here.

Rin then finally left. Not long after a woman with tanned skin, black hair, and warm black eyes. “Why are you both standing st-,” the woman said before her eyes landed on the necklace with the weird ore on it. She quickly grabbed it before tapping the ore on the small gem connected to the ring on her ring finger. Both ores then started to sparkle as if there were millions of stars inside of them. “Abyss Sky,” she whispered to herself. Abyss sky ore is a special ore that will sparkle when it touches another piece from the same vein. 

The tears then rolled down her cheeks. She didn't even know why. Bianca and Nico were confused at their mothers actions. Though when their mom put on the necklace her eyes grew cloudy for one second before clearing up and showing eyes with so many emotions flashing through them. ‘So you did this for our safety’ she thought as she looked at her ring. She looked at her children and realized that their memories must still be locked. She could have unlocked their memories but she chose not to as monsters would be able to sense them once again. ‘I am sorry but I will tell you when you are older and strong enough to protect each other’ she thought to herself before smiling at them and calming them down.

Rin just smiles as Maria was able to get her memories back. He then makes sure to grab everyone and walks outside the casino with them. Annabeth soon realizes how a whole day had passed and it was the 10th of December. A whole day had passed since they had gone in there. Percy got a bit worried and told everyone to hurry up before dashing into the Lamborghini.
