Chapter 167: Chapter 63: Beating The Gods

Days were passing by, the camp was still congratulating Rin’s group for completing a quest for one of the big three. Artemis was able to meet Lilith, Annabeth, Thalia, Hestia, and even Medusa who was visiting more frequently. Though Thalia seemed to be acting weirder and weirder as it got closer to her birthday.

Then came the fateful day, Thalia’s 16th birthday. It started like normal, there was even a birthday party for her and everyone in the camp came and celebrated with her. She was so happy that tears even escaped her eyes. Rin then took her to a small hill filled with light blue flowers. He then held her in his arms. She enjoyed the feeling of being safe and loved. Though it all stopped the second a lightning bolt struck down right in front of them.

Zeus was there standing in a darkish gray robe with his Master bold by his side. “Hello daughter, I came here for one reason and one reason only,” Zeus said domineeringly. “Now  come here and I will make it painless,” Zeus said. Thalia was shaking in Rin’s arms holding him tightly not wanting to let go. Rin then patted her head, calming her down, and smiled at her. He then stood up and placed her down on the hill.

“I will be back soon, ok?” Rin told Thalia. Rin then turned to Zeus and his face changed completely. He had pure hatred and anger in his eyes but he was making sure not to shift, just yet at least. Rin’s aura was growing every second, and even let a certain goddess and Titaness sense it. “You dare stand back against me!!” Zeus roared. Rin just brought out Katori and unsheathed it. He then walked towards Zeus without fear. Zeus immediately called down a lightning bolt on Rin. Though this did nothing as Rin just walked through it and sliced off Zeus’s right hand. Zeus could only groan in pain as he rarely got hurt.

Rin just kept walking and sliced off his left leg. Zeus could only fall after losing his balance. Rin then stood at his feet and looked down at him. “You actually had the balls to try and kill my lover, but that action will cost you your life,” Rin said as he raised Katori and brought it down towards Zeus’s head.

Before Katori could reach Zeus’s head, Zeus exploded in lightning. Rin quickly stood in front of Thalia to protect her from the lightning. The entire environment turned into clouds as Zeus stood there without any of his limbs missing and lightning coming off of him from time to time.

“Be proud that you actually forced me to use my Divine domain, but you shall now die,” Zeus said as he aimed his Master bolt and shot it at Rin. Rin quickly Raised Katori and used it to block the strike. Though the strength of the strike was enough to push him back 3 meters back.

“Damn it, it seems I can not take care of you by myself,” Zeus said, seeing Rin block his strike without a single scratch. Zeus raised his bolt and struck it down on the ground. Soon after 12 figures appeared behind him.

Apollo came in a ray of sunlight, Artemis appeared from behind a tree, Hades came out of the ground, Ares came out of a burst of flames, Hephaestus appeared from a falling anvil, Hermes flew in with his winged sandals, Aphrodite appeared inside of a limo, Poseidon walked out of a hurricane, Athena just flew on an owl, Dionysus walked out of a bushel of grapes, Hera just teleported to Zeus’s side, and Demeter was just sitting in the grass.

A few of the figures were surprised when they saw Zeus and Rin with their weapons drawn. “This impudent mortal dares to fight me, so now he must suffer divine punishment and die,” Zeus said as if it were law. 

Though soon Hades, Artemis, Apollo, Ares, Hermes, Demeter, and even Hephaestus walked to the side. “What are you doing?!” Zeus yelled at them. “I owe him my life brother, so I can not go against him,” Hades said. “Father, we are very close to this demigod and cannot lay a hand on him,” Apollo spoke for him and Artemis as she was pissed at Zeus for trying to kill Rin. “He helped my son from going the wrong path and I will not go against him,” Hermes said. “I will only fight him one on one,” Ares said simply. “I will not fight with such a weapon as I know it can kill any one of us,” Hephaestus said while looking at Katori with a fascinated look. “He had protected me before so I shall not fight my savior,” Demeter said while looking at Rin with love struck eyes.

Even though there were only 6 gods to fight, this would be a hard fight for Rin with his sealed stats. Rin could only grit his teeth as he could not use more of his sealed strength or he would end up doing major harm to the world. Though that is when he heard a ring in his head.

Rin could only smile at what just happened. He also looked at the God Limiter on his neck, as this would allow him to continuously grow stronger without having to do anything. Now that he could fight without limiting himself he was ready. 

All of the 6 gods against him shrunk back a bit as his aura condensed as if Rin got stronger while fighting them. Rin just started to walk towards them.

Aphrodite started to cheer and it seemed to make all of the gods become stronger. Athena then signaled to Dionysus to do something. Dionysus then throws two bottles at the feet of Rin. They are meant to get anyone drunk off the fumes and if it doesn’t then it will mess with their vision.

Rin countered this by just activating his Kaminun. He could see everything in front of him even better. He could even predict their attack to a small amount.

Poseidon then called a hurricane on Rin so that the smoke would stay focused on him while he would be pelted with small tridents of water. Rin would just dodge them and even grab them as a taunt.

Hera then summons her peacock to keep Rin busy. Though it only lasted one second as its head was cut off in one second.

That second was enough for the gods to surround Rin. Poseidon quickly summoned his trident from a pool of water. Athena summoned Aegis, a spear, and her helm which made her invisible soon after putting it on. Hera summoned her scepter and started to say spiteful things which would have given heavy debuffs to anyone else. Aphrodite just started to sing a love song which kept on buffing the gods. Dionysus brought out bottles of berserker wine and threw them to everyone, which allowed them to double their strength.

Zeus smiled as Rin was still in the hurricane of drunk smoke and everyone was prepared to kill him. Though Rin surprised him as he just walked straight through the hurricane towards Poseidon.

Poseidon, seeing Rin’s figure, quickly thrusted his spear at him. Rin just sidestepped it but out of nowhere tilted his head back. “Nice try Athena,” Rin said before slashing at both of their weapons with Katori. Soon the top half of Poseidon’s spear fell. Though right next to it was another top half of a spear that appeared out of nowhere.

Poseidon and Athena could only look at the other half of their weapons on the ground. Rin just smiled and walked towards Zeus. Zeus seeing that Katori can cut divine weapons, and Hephaestus' words about Katori being able to kill gods frightened him.

Zeus started to walk back and Hera, seeing this, quickly got in front of him to stop Rin. Rin just looked at her and shook his head at her. “You truly are a faithful woman and I commend you for that,” Rin said before disappearing and reappearing behind her and skillfully neck chopped her. He then caught her and placed her down on the ground softly.

“How does it feel to hide behind your lover that stayed faithful even after you cheated on her more than 100 times,” Rin said disdainfully at Zeus. “Wait, you could not cheat as I stopped you from raping all those women long ago,” Rin said with a smile.

Zeus was enraged at his words. “You stopped me from bedding them all?!” Zeus yelled. “Of course they don’t deserve such a horrible future,” Rin said. “They should be happy to have slept with me and even be happy to bear my child,” Zeus said as if it was an honorable thing to do.

Rin could not help it anymore and just rushed over to him. He cut off both of his legs. Rin then casted a small fireball in his hands and burned Zeus’ cut off legs. Zeus could only yell out in pain. “They never wanted such a thing and you would have ruined the lives of many,” Rin said with anger that was overflowing. “Did you know that most of those women would have been killed for infidelity, and even suicide as they did not want to carry the child of a rapist?” Rin said as he knew the future.

“But of course you don’t care as long as you get a good fuck,” Rin said with disgust. “These Greek gods need a better leader than you,” Rin said. Zeus was afraid after his words. Zeus tried to punch Rin away so he could teleport away but Rin just sliced his arms off. Rin then reached towards Zeus’s soul and ripped it out.

He then squeezed it and Zeus was crying out in agony. Rin continued to squeeze his soul before it shattered and Zeus’s body went limp. “Your king is now forever dead and there is no chance for him to ever reincarnate as his soul was shattered,” Rin said to the other Greek gods.

“Though you all need a better leader than this,” Rin said as he looked at the leftover shards of Zeus’s soul. He quickly grabs them and puts them together while getting rid of the horrible parts of it. Then Zeus’s body flashed with lightning which blinded everyone but Rin.

A bulky man with blonde hair and a blonde beard soon walked out of the lightning. He had a dark gray suit on that seemed to have rain falling in the background. He finally opened his eyes only to show a lightning blue color.

When he saw Rin he quickly knelt. “My lord,” he said. “You are tasked to rule the Greek gods as their past ruler was a horrible one,” Rin said before transmitting Zeus’s old memories to him. 

“HOW CAN THE KING OF THE GODS BEHAVE IN SUCH A WAY!!!!!” Zeus yelled out loud. “Do not worry my lord, I will lead the gods the correct way and never commit such atrocities,” Zeus said solemnly while bowing his head.

Rin smiled and nodded. He quickly rounded up the gods and woke up Hera. “This shall be your new king, Zeus,” Rin told everyone. “What happened to our old King?” Hera asked. “I killed him permanently for all of the crimes he would have done had I not stopped him and brought him back after removing all of the horrible qualities he had making him a better leader, father, king, and husband,,” Rin said. “Hera, I can not call you my wife as I am not the same Zeus you knew but I would love it if you would give me a chance to become close to you,” Zeus said while kneeling down.

Hera was surprised that anyone with the name Zeus would actually bow their head down. Hera just nodded as she could sense this was the Zeus she knew but he was completely different behavior wise. “He shall be a great leader and be able to help the world much better,” Rin said. 

Rin then walked to Thalia who was perfectly safe due to him putting a mana barrier around her. “It is ok, I told you, they won’t take you from me,” Rin said as he hugged her tightly. Thalia then held on to him for dear life and made sure he did not have any wounds on him.

After they were done with their cuddle session Rin walked up to the gods. Hera slightly knelt at Rin. “Thank you for helping my husband see the wrong in his ways and reforming him,” Hera said happily.

Rin just waved it off before remembering something important. “Zeus this is your daughter, that you had tried to kill,” Rin said while bringing Thalia into his arms once again. She was slightly scared that he would try something again and maybe even hurt Rin.

Though he surprised her as he patted her head. “I am sorry child, for giving you such fear and fate,” Zeus said caringly. He then remembers one rule the old Zeus made. “I have to fix this,” Zeus said before activating his godly strength. “I, Zeus, as the new ruler of Olympus will change the rules once and for all!” Zeus yelled. “Gods, shall now be able to be a part of their children’s life though with the limit of helping them out with their quests, ordeal, or anything of the sort,” Zeus said.

Apollo who was there had some tears in his eyes as he could finally say hi to his children and tell them how proud he was with all of their accomplishments. He had felt horrible since he could always sense the sorrow they had when they could not meet their father. He wanted to go down and comfort his children so many times but was held in place by Zeus.

“Now I must leave to fix the horrible actions by the past me,” Zeus said before disappearing. All of the other gods and goddesses soon followed except Demeter. Rin thought she just needed some time to leave so he turned around and started to walk away. Though before he got far he was hugged from behind by Demeter.

“Why?” was the only word Rin said. “Did you think I would not remember your aura after protecting me?” Demeter asked. “You know I have been searching for you for so long,” Demeter said. “I had fallen in love with someone I never met and no one believed you even existed but I persisted to look and I finally found you,” Demeter said with happiness practically dripping out of her voice.

“I would love to accept your feeling but it is best that we get to know each other first,” Rin said with a caring smile on his face. “Of course, I can’t force you to fall in love with me but I will definitely try to make you fall for me so be ready,” Demeter said. Rin just nodded. Demeter then let go of him. Rin turned around and saw her about to walk away.

Then all of a sudden Demeter turned around and landed a kiss on his lips before instantly teleporting. Though Rin could still see the silly smile on her face before she disappeared.
