Heavy snow swept across the vast expense of the night
The busy day was swept away.
Zheng Ren was alone for a few minutes. He went to check on all the patients before going to the on-duty room to lie down for a bit.
He would sleep for a while if he could. There was still a TIPS surgery tomorrow.
Although Zheng Ren knew that he was already considered a highly-skilled intervention doctor, he still had to carefully prepare for tomorrow’s surgery.
The second half of the night was very quiet. Only a few patients came in intermittently, and their conditions were not serious.
When Zheng Ren woke up early in the morning, he looked at the vast expanse of snow outside the window and felt a sense of satisfaction.
He could sleep for four hours a night in the emergency department. What else could he not be satisfied with?
After he got up and washed up, patients began to come in sporadically.
At around seven o’clock, Zheng Ren was checking in with patients and doing a physical examination when he actually saw Chief Physician Pan walk in.
He quickly finished the examination of the patient at hand, opened the blood test sheet, and sent him away.
“Zheng Ren, were you busy last night?” Chief Physician Pan asked.
“I’m fine.” Zheng Ren smiled. He was especially busy during the day yesterday. However, because of the snow at night, the busy rhythm instantly quieted down.
“Go back and prepare for the surgery.” Chief Physician Pan was essentially kicking Zheng Ren out of the department.
“Today…”
“Chief Xiao has sent a doctor from the Department of Internal Medicine to help us. Your job here is done,” Chief Physician Pan said to him.
It seemed that Chief Physician Pan’s visit to Chief Xiao’s house last night had been fruitful.
However, the Department of Internal Medicine would probably be very angry. After all, all the clinical departments were facing a shortage of manpower.
This was none of Zheng Ren’s concerns.
He bade Chief Physician Pan farewell and left the emergency department. Zheng Ren did not return to the emergency ward. Instead, he went to the operating theater to take a shower.
The scalding hot water pelted at his skin, washing away all the grime from his body. After taking a shower, Zheng Ren felt much more refreshed.
Zheng Ren did not wear his casual clothes. Instead, he wore an isolation suit and a white coat over it as he went downstairs to sign in for his shift.
Because of the heavy snow, both doctors and nurses were late. Only Professor Rudolf Wagner arrived at the emergency ward at 7.55am that morning. He was as accurate as a Swiss-made watch.
Gao Shaojie and Wang Qiang were afraid of being late, so they drove at a slow speed while rushing to Sea City General Hospital.
The early shift was canceled. Zheng Ren called Chief Sun and told him to bring the patient to the emergency operating room to prepare for the operation.
When the professor and the others changed their clothes, Chief Sun had already brought the patient over.
When Chief Sun saw Gao Shaojie, he was stunned for a moment. After that, he smiled and asked, “Are you Chief Gao of the Medical University?”
“Yes, have we met before?” Gao Shaojie smiled and asked in a refined manner.
“Last year, the provincial capital held an annual meeting for the Department of Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery. You expressed your expectations for the interventional treatment of liver cancer there,” Chief Sun said, wondering why Gao Shaojie was here.
The province was very big.
However, to the top medical circles in the Province, they were unaware of all others.
There were about a hundred people in total. Even if they were not familiar with each other, they could still recognize each other when they met. Whether it was the annual meeting, academic meeting, consultation, freelance surgery, or even surgery, there was always a way to get to know each other.
Of course, it was the doctors from lower-level hospitals who took the initiative to get to know the doctors from higher-level ones.
Just like Department Chief Qian and Department Chief Sun, if they came up to Gao Shaojie and said a few words to him, it would be to make an impression on him.
In the future, he would become a good connection for them to get further in life.
“Oh.” Gao Shaojie nodded his head in a reserved manner.
Of course, he would not pay attention to the Chief of Sea City General Hospital’s General Surgery Department. There were more than a hundred people in the annual meeting. For someone of Gao Shaojie’s status, there was no need to get to know him.

Although Chief Sun’s status was a little higher, there was not much of a difference.
“You are…” Chief Sun’s heart shuddered as he asked this question.
“I’m here to watch Chief Zheng’s surgery and learn from him,” Gao Shaojie said bluntly.
Chief Sun’s heart tightened, but immediately, he rejoiced. This was something he had expected!
Although he was not sure why, Chief Sun still rejoiced at his “correct” guess of what the other was here for.
The two of them did not have much to say. They changed their clothes and went straight to the operating room.
Professor Rudolf Wagner was already laying out the sheets, disinfecting them and preparing for the surgery.
Zheng Ren was still standing in front of the film reader, looking at the film intently.
It was quiet in the operating room. No one spoke as everyone was deep in thought.
“Boss, I’m done here. Come on up,” Professor Rudolf Wagner said in a deep and magnetic voice.
Xie Yiren had prepared everything and was waiting to tie Zheng Ren’s surgery gown. Zheng Ren nodded immediately. He went to brush his hands and put on his clothes. After Xie Yiren tied his gown for him, he left the operating room.
The heavy lead door slowly closed and the surgery began.
At the same time, the surgery live broadcast room in Xinglin Garden commenced.
Recently, the frequency of the surgery live broadcast room becoming live was decreasing. While many complained about this, everyone gradually accepted it with heavy hearts.
Many people were even prepared for the live broadcasts to cease at any moment.
After all, if someone performed a good surgery, there was no need to teach them for free.
Some people even guessed that this was the preliminary work for a publicity stunt. No one could guess who was behind it.
Were they selling surgical CDs? The other party’s world-class surgical standard that made others feel inferior?
Publicizing the hospital? The other party’s intervention surgery was extremely impressive. Their emergency treatment was also awesome. Even if this type of hospital was not the Montreal Medical Center in Canada, it was definitely a world-class hospital.
Why did they need to publicize it?
If they did publicize it, countless people would flock to it every day.
No one could guess the exact reason for the surgical live broadcast room.
However, the details were unimportant.
Being able to observe, learn about surgery, and climb the technological tree was already enough, was it not?
[What surgery is it this time?]
[You haven’t seen it yet? It’s TIPS surgery! Damn, is this God going to display his best intervention surgery techniques?]
[Wow, it’s actually TIPS surgery again! I… Why doesn’t the live broadcast room have a recording function?]
[Idiot, can’t you record it yourself?]
Before the surgery began, everyone was blasting comments at each other.
After all, the first step in intervention surgery was for the guide wire to enter through the blood vessels. Nothing could be seen from the outside.
[I still remember the last emergency TIPS surgery. I asked a few teachers and when I mentioned the words ’emergency TIPS surgery’, they all felt that what he was doing was impossible.]
[Yeah, I still remember the patient vomiting blood during the surgery. I wonder how the patient is doing after the TIPS surgery.]
[What else could have been done? To solve the problem of excessive pressure on the portal vein, whether it’s the oral administration of normal kidney ice and saltwater or the old-fashioned three-lumen and two-cystic duct, it can solve the problem of acute bleeding.]
[He probably used the most basic hemostatic treatment. I reckon the patient has successfully been discharged from the hospital.]
[I also asked around. It’s said that the Mayo Clinic, which is now the number one clinic in the world, has performed three to five needle punctures during the TIPS operation. The last time the surgeon performed the TIPS operation, he only used four needles. His skills are probably considered top-notch.]
[Could it be that Mayo Clinic has opened up a live broadcast room?]
[Didn’t people say before that it’s the Montreal Medical Center in Canada? However, I still have my doubts. At this hour, would they still be conducting a surgery?]
As the bullet messages flew past the screen, the video system was switched on.
