The carriage started moving forward, and Si Rong hurriedly ran along behind, raising his hands above his head and shouting, “Lan’er, I was wrong!”
When Chuling heard the first shout, she couldn’t resist pulling the curtain back and peeking out the carriage window. She thought about all the awful things Si Rong had done to Feng Tianlan before, and her face was immediately filled with contempt. She angrily let go of the curtain and looked at Feng Tianlan, who was lazily leaning against the carriage. “Miss, are you really going to forgive him?”
It would be foolish of her to take back this awful scumbag. Surely her Miss wasn’t going to repeat her mistake, right?
Feng Tianlan looked at Chuling, who was angry and spiteful, and she laughed. “When did I say I was going to forgive him?”
“But Miss, earlier you…” Chuling laughed and clapped her hands. “Too bad!”
Si Rong had put aside his pride. He was raising his arms and yelling that he was wrong while following behind her horse carriage to gain Feng Tianlan’s favor. This was causing countless passersby to watch him curiously and murmur among themselves. Giving up crossed Si Rong’s mind, but then he thought about that powerful alchemist, so he clenched his teeth and endured the humiliation.
Meanwhile, at the Spiritual Foods Restaurant…
The place had only opened barely three months ago, but it had become the top restaurant in all of South Winds Nation. The restaurant was now filled with guests, and everyone was shocked by Feng Tianlan’s ability. She had booked the entire restaurant and invited all the strongest fighters and most important people in the nation.
Tu Xiupei rode over a horse, so she arrived ten minutes earlier than Feng Tianlan. The moment she entered the hall, all she heard was praise for Feng Tianlan. Her face darkened, and she quickly formulated a plan. She smiled and addressed the crowd, “Thank you, everyone, for coming to our banquet at the Spiritual Foods Restaurant.”
The murmuring crowd was stunned for a moment before looking up at Tu Xiupei.
“The Feng Clan Head is hosting this banquet, right? What has this got to do with Feng Xiupei?”
“Have you forgotten what happened last night? She’s been removed from the genealogy, so she’s not the Second Miss of the Feng family anymore. Now, she’s called Tu Xiupei.”
“Oh, that’s right. I nearly forgot. After snatching away the family, it’s high time to return it to the rightful owner.”
“Don’t be too quick to judge. They are sisters, after all. She’s a disciple of Flying Frost Pavilion, so maybe this banquet is only possible because of her and not Feng Tianlan. The whole place is booked, you know?”
At first, Tu Xiupei was angered by what they were saying, but after hearing more, it seemed like they were slowly beginning to trust her, and her mood improved.
“You! Come over here,” Tu Xiupei wanted to look like she was really the one in charge, so she summoned a very busy server.
“How can I help you?” The server thought that she was a guest and made his way over.
“Can’t you see what time it is? And you still haven’t served any dishes? Can’t you at least serve some tea or liquor, or maybe some side dishes?” Tu Xiupei saw that the server seemed to be willing to obey her, so she started blaming the server as if she were in the right.
“Er…” The server stood frozen as he stared at Tu Xiupei, wondering where this barbarian had come from, and whether he should throw her out or not.
“What are you staring at? Hurry up and bring the dishes out!” Tu Xiupei yelled at him. He was just a server. Even though this was the Spiritual Foods Restaurant, there was nothing to be afraid of. He was merely a lowly food server.
The server glanced at Tu Xiupei and thought about how the banquet tonight was very important and must not be ruined. So, he held his anger in and replied, “Please wait a moment.”
Once she saw that the server had gone obediently to do her bidding, Tu Xiupei puffed up her chest and looked at all the guests. “I’m so sorry for not serving you all adequately. There’ll be some additional dishes later to make it up to you.”
With that, she made her way to the second floor, where the room reserved for the host and special guests was. Of course, she was going up there.
“It looks like it really is because of her that we get to eat here.”
“Well, no matter what, she’s still a novice disciple of the Flying Frost Pavilion, and her Master is the Principal. That’s a top tier sect, so, obviously, she’s been given certain privileges.”
