Chapter 232: All the More Reason for Us to Go with You
When she heard this, Feng Tianlan froze and looked at them. “There’s no need. The Xuantian Continent is too dangerous, and it would be safer if you both stayed in the Guiyuan Continent.”
“You’ve never been there before, so how do you know that the Xuantian Continent is dangerous?” Luo Yunzhu latched onto the most crucial point.
“Wherever Miss goes, I will follow,” Chuling replied resolutely.
Feng Tianlan looked back at her porridge and continued drinking it. “Don’t come.”
“Then that’s all the more reason for us to go. We can’t just let you brave all the dangers by yourself.” Luo Yunzhu put her bowl down firmly. She looked at Feng Tianlan with all seriousness. “Anyway, it doesn’t matter if you protest. We already agreed that we’d walk together to reach the highest peak, so don’t even dream of abandoning me somewhere.”
Chuling nodded in agreement.
Feng Tianlan looked at these two who insisted on following her no matter what, then looked back down and continued drinking her porridge. A warm feeling filled her heart, but she was also filled with worry, especially given what had happened to Chuling last time. She was afraid that she would drag them down with her.
The Xuantian Continent was a dangerous place. There was Shen Yunya, the Shens, the Jiangs, and all sorts of powers fighting one another. Right now, to those people, the three of them were worth even less than ants, and she couldn’t bear to see danger befall the people she cared about.
BAM!
A loud slam of the table made Feng Tianlan snap back to reality. She looked up in confusion at Luo Yunzhu, who had stood up violently, her hand still on the table. Her eyes were all red, and she was furious.
“Your protests are pointless. If you still want to be like this, then I’ll…I’ll…I’ll…” Luo Yunzhu took a while before she finally squeezed the words out. “Then I won’t be your friend anymore. I won’t be your confidant, and we’ll have nothing to do with one another!”
When she saw this reaction from Luo Yunzhu, Feng Tianlan felt warmth in her heart and wanted to burst out laughing, but she kept a poker face on and calmly replied, “Up to you.”
Luo Yunzhu was stunned. Tianlan would rather not be friends than let her follow her to the Xuantian Continent?
Chuling was also stunned by this. Why was her Miss so cold? The three words she’d uttered were short and straightforward, but also cold and heartless, which made her feel sad.
“Feng Tianlan!” Luo Yunzhu went to block Feng Tianlan’s way and stared stubbornly at her. “If you don’t take me with you, then I’ll look up Tu Xiupei. I’m sure that she’d be more than happy to bring me along.”
Feng Tianlan frowned. To defeat her, Tu Xiupei would be more than happy to bring Yunzhu along and squeeze every single benefit she could get out of her.
“Since the Xuantian Continent is so dangerous, that’s all the more reason why I must go with you. I won’t let you go by yourself. Even if I’m not much help, I don’t want you to go to a strange place and have nobody to share your deepest thoughts with. It’s so hard to always be by yourself, especially in a place like the Xuantian Continent.”
“Besides, it’s not like I’m just accompanying you. I’m going to go out there to see the world, stand on the highest peak, and show those people that I, Luo Yunzhu, am not a good-for-nothing.”
“I mean it, if you don’t bring me, I’ll look for Tu Xiupei. When that happens, don’t blame me for not acknowledging you as a friend or for attacking you fiercely.”
Feng Tianlan looked at Luo Yunzhu as she stubbornly insisted on going with her. She sighed and could only comply: “I’ll go to the academy with you tomorrow.”
“What?” Luo Yunzhu looked at her in surprise.
“We’ll get into the top ten and go to the Xuantian Continent together.”
Luo Yunzhu immediately squealed and hugged her when she heard this. “OH, MY TIANLAN YOU’RE WONDERFUL!”
Feng Tianlan smiled faintly as she allowed Luo Yunzhu to squeeze her tightly. She was so excited that she nearly started jumping while hugging Feng Tianlan. Then, Feng Tianlan quietly said, “Don’t insult yourself like that anymore.”
The things that Yunzhu had said were insulting to herself. She wasn’t that kind of person at all. She was lovely and genuinely wonderful.
