Tu Xiang angrily made his way back to the Heavenly Phoenix Court, but Feng Tianlan had long gone, and bodyguards were protecting the place. He had no choice but to stomp back to the rundown courtyard without venting his anger. Xu Jiayi was scolding two servants for being useless, while Tu Xiuyu was looking at her surroundings with hatred in her eyes. She was like a poisonous snake lying in ambush to bite anyone who happened to pass by.
“What happened? Couldn’t you settle the matter?” Xu Jiayi saw how Tu Xiang had come storming back. It was evident that things hadn’t gone his way, so she didn’t speak too kindly to him.
“What do you mean by that? Are you looking down on me now?” Tu Xiang was now in a foul mood, and everyone sounded sarcastic to him.
Xu Jiayi threw him a glance. She didn’t even want to say anything. If she had known how useless he would turn out to be, she wouldn’t have chosen him in the first place. It would have been better if she had become a cherished concubine in the palace. At least then, she wouldn’t have had to suffer his bad moods.
She really did look down on him!
Tu Xiang was furious and stormed over to Xu Jiayi. He gripped her shoulders hard and roared, “Xu Jiayi, what do you mean by that? Spit it out. Do you look down on me? Do you regret marrying me? Are you mocking me?”
“You didn’t even drink, and you’re still behaving like some crazy person. How do you expect me to look up to you? If you have guts, you can go ahead and…”
PAK! Xu Jiayi’s face was slapped hard. She looked at Tu Xiang in disbelief. Did he just hit her?
Tu Xiupei had just finished washing and dolling herself up. She was ready to go to the Academy and use her position as a teacher to bully Feng Tianlan. She couldn’t afford to be late.
But the moment she stepped out of her room, she witnessed Tu Xiang slapping Xu Jiayi, and she saw Tu Xiuyu standing to one side smiling sadistically. Tu Xiupei immediately frowned.
“Tu Xiang, you little bastard!” Xu Jiayi recovered from her initial shock and roared at Tu Xiang. How dare he hit her!
This roar from Xu Jiayi made Tu Xiang’s anger go from 30% to 100%. He angrily called her a sl*t, then raised his hand to strike Xu Jiayi’s face again. Nobody had ever dared to insult him like this.
Xu Jiayi took one step back and dodged the blow. She glared at him angrily. “Tu Xiang, you’re still trying to hit me? Are you still a man? If you’ve got guts, then hit Feng Tianlan. What sort of man stands here and beats his wife?”
Tu Xiuyu’s hatred was ready to set the world on fire, so she purposely added fuel to the fire. “So, to Mother, Father isn’t bold or manly enough. Then, is the man who got into bed with you in the middle of the night manly enough for you?”
“You little sl*t!”
Tu Xiang had initially decided against slapping Xu Jiayi, but after he heard what Tu Xiuyu said, he hit the roof again and slapped Xu Jiayi.
Xu Jiayi had never been abused like this and wasn’t going to stand there and let him hit her. She lifted her hand and slapped him right back. “Tu Xiang, slap me again, if you dare!”
“I’m going to hit you, and you can see for yourself if I’m manly enough!” Tu Xiang’s face was dark, and his eyes were bloodshot as he moved close to Xu Jiayi. When he saw that she was going to make a run for it, he lifted his leg and kicked her to the ground.
Xu Jiayi felt afraid when Tu Xiang came close to her with such murderous intent, so she gathered some Spiritual force in her palms and sent it toward him. This man had gone mad!
When he saw that Xu Jiayi had used Spiritual force on him, Tu Xiang decided not to go easy on her and used Spiritual force to hit her back.
It had started with only a few slaps in the face, but after Tu Xiuyu had said one thing, it became a battle of Spiritual forces. They started attacking each other as enemies. They weren’t going to stop until at least one of them died.
Tu Xiupei didn’t want to interfere, at first, but then she realized that the situation was out of control. If they continued hitting each other like this, both of them were going to get hurt.
“Stop fighting!” Tu Xiupei rushed to stand in between them.
