The next day came and I was currently prepping my mental state.
And, going against all expectations held by both Char and Gwen, I was able to maintain a calm and cool facade, at least on the outside.
Of course, this was just due to my own powers working on me as I had asked Angel to make me emotionless today.
Getting into the carriage, I actually distanced myself from the both of them, instead of relying on Char's shoulder like I usually did.
By the time the carriage had arrived at the Endendyk residence in the capitol, I was prepared.
Helping myself out of the carriage, I entered the mansion, but a butler suddenly blocked me.
Remembering that I wasn't a part of the family anymore, I just bowed my head before retreating a few steps back, letting the butler explain.
"The Duke has asked that you be brought to the waiting room."
Knowing the reason why I was asked to do this, I just followed the butler whilst leaving Char and Gwen behind.
"You'll do great, Young Master!" Shouted Char from behind me.
Hearing this, I only lowered my head, but, it wasn't because I was fearful of what was to come, no, it was because I was hiding my smile.
After all, Char seemed to have already figured it out.
It was only Gwen who was left confused, standing there, the odd one out.
Repositioning my head so that it was held high, I walked into the room without saying a word back.
The strength to be emotionless, that was what I needed today.
And that was what I would bring.
...
Entering the "Waiting Room" I couldn't help but smile as I felt the mana fluctuations happening behind the walls.
You see, after thinking for some time last night, I had come to the conclusion that this would be the most likely thing that would happen.
After all, why else would the Duke call me here? He could have just relayed messages to me with Char as a medium.
Hearing the doors closing and locking behind me, I was unperturbed and sat down in one of the velvet chairs in the room.
Calmly sitting there even when I heard the machinery starting up in the background, I started whistling.
"Pang!"
A noise like the sound of a raindrop falling into a lake, but one hundreds time louder and clearer, resounded throughout the room, and suddenly, I became extremely clear minded.
The rippling of the water on the lack spread out throughout the entirety of my subconsciousness, bringing me to a state of clinical death as my brain activity completely ceased.
This was honestly an amazing experience for me, as my soul was separated from my body for only the second time in my life, with this being the first time that I was actually awake and aware of the process.
Finding myself in a completely white space, I waited for the goddess to appear and bestow on me my skill.
You might be wondering, "But wait, haven't you already gotten a skill?"
And some of you other readers concerned with plot holes might be like, "But didn't you say that one couldn't be awakened twice?"
Well, in all technicality, I was already aware of this loophole for quite a while.
You see, the first time I awakened, I had done it myself, without the use of a room, so it should be said that this is my first time using an awakening room.
But then, some of you will be like all whiny and complain, "Then why didn't you awaken back in the castle?"
Well, it was because I was still unsure if this loophole would work, so I only decided to test it out now, as I would die anyways if I refused the Duke.
To explain the emotionless part, it was because I didn't want any other variables affecting my awakening.
So, are all y'all happy now?

Anyways, as I lay there in the completely white world, I saw an owl descending from the sky.
'An angel? Hmm... well, it makes sense because she is the God of Wisdom.'
"Mortal, are you ready to be awakened?"
I almost responded with what the nobles usually told their children to say to the goddess, but then I remembered an answer that had allowed one of the supporting characters to receive a skill that was much more powerful than what they would have initially received, with the goddess even acknowledging them for their sharp intellect.
"Under my god, Millaros of the Moon, may I become one with the wisdom of this world."
"..."
After pondering my answer for a while, the owl suddenly transformed into a woman shaped, impossible to look at bright light.
It was the goddess herself.
"Let your wish be granted, my child, one who has been bestowed since birth with a gift similar to mine."
And with those words, she gently tapped my forehead, and I blacked out.
...
Opening my eyes, I found myself back in my dorm room with a strange mark on my forearm.
"May I assume that this mark will somehow limit the effects of my now awakened demonic seed?" I asked into thin air, knowing that one of them would come and answer me.
"Yes, Young Master." Replied Gwen, as she appeared out of thin air.
Seeing my questioning gaze, she continued,
"Char is receiving orders on how to keep a leash on you, so it's only me right now."
"Then you must know."
"I've known for a long time now, Young Master."
"Do you wonder what they are?"
"Only if you will allow me to."
"Why? You could easily force me to reveal them."
"But, over the course of these last few years, you have shown me more kindness than I could ever imagine coming from someone like you, so please, allow me to be presumptuous, Young Master."
She then leaned her neck over to my mouth, and I whispered something that only she could hear.
Nodding after hearing about them, she immediately retracted her head back and just watched me as I sat there in silence, pulling up my status window.
