"Why was I laughing?" You might ask, well it was because something had clicked once I saw my status window.
Then, out of self pity for not realizing this fact a lot earlier, I had started laughing like a madman.
I mean, everything had been right in front of my eyes, and I had just never taken the initiative to connect the dots.
You see, the status window in front of me greatly resembled the one in one of the books that I had read in my past life.
Specifically, it was a Korean Romance Novel.
Now, in my defense, I usually wouldn't read this shit, but, well, I was mindlessly reading at the time, and hadn't known what I was getting myself into.
I mean, only looking at the covers on these novels, one would think that they were actually good.
Well, let's just say, it was the first, and last Korean Romance Novel that I ever read.
Anyways, now, after making this connection, I realized that I was the main villain in the series, the villainous brother.
Now, I was going over the events of the novel inside my head.
A random Korean office worker had one day died after overworking herself.
Being an avid reader of Korean Romance Novels herself, she had been delighted to find herself reincarnated into a fantasy world.
She was reborn as a twin in a noble house with the rank of duke.
Growing up, she had shown her prowess in swordsmanship, generating a lot of praise around her.
Eclipsing her brother in her shadow, he grew to hate her, and became something like those arrogant nobles you see as villains in all Korean Romance Novels, as his burning hatred grew each day, he started plotting against her.
She, herself, had been oblivious to this, as she had just started ignoring her twin brother after she showed talent in swordsmanship, spending each day training hard instead of playing around like him.
But, when the secret of the prophecy had been revealed to her, she had been horrified.
After all, although she had ignored his existence, he was still her brother, and she didn't think that she would be able to kill him.
Anyways, after the events of her awakening ceremony, where her brother had been expelled from the family, she went through the usual training arc under a grandmaster after a fortuitous encounter, an academy arc, and then an exposing corruption arc where she exposed the demons hiding in the King's Court, whilst also dealing with a love triangle, of course.
Even with all the action, this had all been a backstory to her love story with the first Imperial Prince, so I guess it was still a Korean Romance Novel.
And, like in all other Korean Romance Novels, the ML had to be cold, brooding, and a bitch.

After she finally got together with the prince, her, along with the prince and a few supporting characters set off to kill the demon king that was ravaging a nearby country, namely, her brother, who had escaped from the castle in the north and had disappeared some time ago.
There were a bunch of fights, mid-bosses and such, before they faced the final boss, her brother.
After an emotional battle, she eventually killed him with the help of her party, and then they all returned to the kingdom.
The prince then proposes, they get married, and then it's happily ever after.
So, all in all, a generic Korean Romance Novel with some twists reminiscent of Shounen manga at the end, but generic, nonetheless.
But, obviously, I had already fucked up the storyline, as, first, I had been born first, making it so that she didn't feel the responsibilities of being the heir of the Endendyk House, so she was a lot weaker in terms of her sword strength.
Second, we were obviously a lot closer with each other than the original Endendyk, as I always took care of her and we had that mental connection, which was never mentioned in the original novel.
And finally, I had awakened to my status window a lot earlier than the original Lysander, meaning, I had a lot more time to accumulate my power.
Taking all of this into account, I actually thought that I had a pretty good chance at turning the situation around, as it would be a lot harder for her to kill me.
And, if I remembered correctly, 3 of the 6 members in the hero's party were currently up here in the north with me right now.
First, there was Karina, the shield of the hero's party, and our childhood friend who had played with us when we were little, and had then left when we turned 7, when she was 15, respectively, and was currently a knight in charge of the garrison up here in the north.
Second, there was Saria, a winter elf that was the ranger of the hero's party, who was the main tracker, navigator, forager, and the longe range fighter of the party. She should be showing up in a slave auction some time soon, and I definitely needed to get my hands on her.
Finally, there was Gwendolyn, the assassin of the party, and also the most dangerous one due to her skill.
You see, most skills would compliment the person's class, but, Gwendolyn had a very unique skill, one that was usually given to protagonists.
Her skill was named: Regressor.
Yep, she was a regressor, and that was the most dangerous thing about her, as she only saw me as the Lysander of the original novel, the noble pretentious brat that would go on to destroy the world.
And, if I was right, then she should've already infiltrated into the Endendyk House, just to get to me.
Opening my eyes due to the sound of a door opening, I looked to see a maid bringing clothes into my room, giving the clothes to Char to hang in my closet.
It was her.
