Chapter 19

TL-Mechatronic

It was when Luciel looked up at him, preparing his heart to follow the Duke. He opened one arm and with eyes that were showing to give her a favor, he said.

“I will carry you.”

At those words, Luciel put herself in the Duke’s arms and waved her hands over his shoulder to Rose and Bessie.

“I will be back.”

“I’ll pick you up later, Miss Luciel.”

Luciel, like a puppy picked up by a stranger, was stiff and unable to move. She felt like she was in an unfamiliar environment. It was different from when Grandpa Gillard picked her up.

Grandpa was kind and warm, but the Duke was a scary person, so naturally her body became tense. Nevertheless, the Duke’s broad arms were firm and quite warm. A soft and sweet wood scent mixed together with an unknown good scent tickled Luciel’s nose.

For example, it was a good smell from an adult.

‘Isn’t this what it feels like to be hugged by your father?’

It’s an unfamiliar and awkward feeling, but it’s a warmth I’ve never felt before. While Luciel was immersed in such a thought, the Duke was entering the conference hall, moving his long legs with gusto. Two cushions were placed on the sofa next to the Duke and Luciel sat down on them. Dozens of pairs of eyes full of curiosity fell on her.

‘These are the vassals of Bellstein.

Luciel looked straight at them, not avoiding their gaze.

“Oh, little madam. I heard that you are a very clever person, but you were such a small and young child. This old man is Viscount Berga.”

The Duke said she didn’t have to say hello to each of the vassals, but it seemed she had to show respect to the older vassals. Luciel lowered her head and said.

“I’m Luciel.”

“I have also heard from Lord Gillard. As I heard, you are a very lovely person. I have never seen a child with such bright eyes in my entire life.”

Viscount Berga, with gray curly hair, looked intently into Luciel’s eyes.

“It’s a jewel-like eyes that fairies would have.”

At his words, the other vassals laughed and added their words.

“You’re such a small and pretty baby girl, like a fairy, haha.”

It was simply a compliment for being like a fairy, but Luciel was unwittingly wary of the vassals. She was afraid that the identity of the fairy bloodline might be revealed. Luciel, who clenched her little fists like a conch, shrank her body slightly.

Some vassals tried to pet Luciel’s fluffy silver hair, saying how cute she was.

Luciel stuck close to the sofa and grabbed the Duke’s hem. Louivid eyes narrowed for an instant, avoiding the vassal’s hand that was trying to stroke Luciel’s head, he held the child towards him to protect her.

“Don’t touch her. She’s shy and tends to hide her face.”

“Aww, so cute, I’ll stop it. I’m sorry, sir.”

“Apologize to the child.”

As the Duke’s narrowed eyes turned to look, the vassal apologized to Luciel.

“I’m sorry, I was rude because you looked like my daughter.”

Luciel quietly shook her head and glanced at the Duke. He felt more reliable than ever. The vassals surrounding Luciel suddenly pulled up the chairs and sat down.

“There were a lot of compliments for the young lady among the villagers. You predicted the landslide incident in advance, right?”

A vassal named Count Gillen politely put his hands together and asked. Luciel blinked and answered.

“Yes….”

“Thanks to Luciel’s prediction, the estate was able to survive without damage.”

“Ho, you’re so smart. How did you know that in advance?

Count Gillen and other retainers all had curious eyes on the Duke’s recent family addition.

“I had a dream that the earth was collapsing. After hearing some type of sound, I knew there was really going to be a landslide.”

“Sound?”

Count Gillen asked, and Luciel answered, recalling the events of that day.

“I have read in books that the sound of the soil collapsing on a rainy day is a harbinger of a landslide.”

“When I sent out a scout that day, strange noises were heard in the Lafayette Mountains.”

The Duke replied while looking at Luciel with a peculiar gaze.

“Huh, then, does the little madam really have foresight dreams?”

“If it’s true, isn’t it a really great ability? It will be of great help to Bellstein.”

Following Count Gillen, Viscount Berga praised Luciel, and the vassals became sympathetic. But Viscount Theo, seated farthest away, smiled as if it was nothing.

“Isn’t it just a coincidence? My wife often has such dreams, hahaha. The last time I fell off a horse, she said that she had an ominous dream and blocked my way.” When Theo himself laughed and rambled, Luciel spoke calmly.

“I don’t know much about such personal things, but I can give you a little bit of information for Bellstein’s sake.”

Count Gillen asked cautiously but with anticipation

“Little Madam, did you have any other dreams?”

As expected, I thought it was a good idea to think ahead, so Luciel said with a bashful smile.

“I know where there are minerals that will greatly help Bellstein.”

“What kind of mineral?”

“Mithril.”

“Oh, if it’s mithril, isn’t it the divine metal that is as light as a feather and as hard as steel!”

Count Gillen and his vassals were excited.

“Mithril is a rare mineral that is hard to find!” Before her return, the empire had been buzzing for a while after a mithril vein was discovered in a tourism development project in Lake Frandel Cave, it was a joint project of Marquis Cavill and the Crown Prince.

God’s mineral that many people covet.

The Crown Prince and his elite troops made it into armor and achieved great feats. So, if Beilstein preempts Mithril, with this incident, it will also help to prevent the Crown Prince’s attack in the future.

“I saw in a dream that a mithril was buried in a cave beside Lake Frandel. The armor made of steel worn by the knights is too heavy to move quickly, so it’s at a disadvantage in battle. But mithril is light and strong, so it will be easy to move. Right?”

“Ho, you have such deep thoughts, you’re such a smart kid, Little Madam. Ha ha ah.”

Viscount Berga looked at Luciel with great respect.

Hearing this, the Duke’s eyes widened and he rubbed his chin.

She even thinks about that. As Luciel said, if he could obtain that precious mithril, the Bellstein knight would have the strongest defense and speed. The Duke looked at the map placed in the conference hall with a smile on his lips. The perceptive Count Gillen quickly opened the map.

“If it’s Lake Frandel, it will take about three or four days even if we leave now, sir.”

“Hmm. In this case, then, Count Gillen will lead the way to rescue Mithril.”

“Yes, thank you for entrusting me, Sir! I’m going to set up scout squads and workers right now and go.”

He looked at Luciel with moved eyes, as if Count Gillen owed her his life.

“Little Madam, thank you very much. I will never forget this grace.”

Count Gillen thanked Luciel over and over again. Thanks to Luciel, he was given the opportunity to take on a major role, and the Count was deeply interested in improving his internal strength. Then the vassals made a fuss and asked if Luciel had had any other dreams. But Luciel shook her head and stuck out her words.

“Not now. I’ll let you know again the next time I dream.”

The information that Luciel knew was limited, so she had to save it. Because right now, that’s her weapon that made it possible to stay in Bellstein.

“You just need to take out one child. “She’s a girl with silver hair and jewel-like crimson eyes.

Count Orbia, who was giving orders in the dark, gave the man a large sum of money. If the child is successfully taken out, he promised to give three times more.

“What kind of fortune is this?!”

It was an eye bugging amount that could not be more rare for a foreign mercenary who earned a daily income. The

man headed for Bellstein with a smile in his torn mouth, but was bounced off by a magic shield before crossing the fence of the black barrier.

“Argh!!”

The fainted man was soon dragged somewhere by those in black cloaks who appeared silently.

Recently, several shields were overlapped on Bellstein’s black wall.

A layer of preparation for landslides or earthquakes. A layer of blocking and bouncing off intruders who secretly try to cross the barrier. And the last layer was implemented by the Duke and Gillard with all their might, but it was not known what kind of incident they prepared it for

Jarga, the leader of the Black Wings Knights and a member of the 1st Unit, ordered the advisor to dig up the intruder’s information, and then entered the office to report to the Duke.

“Was there a crazy man who dared to climb the wall of Bellstein?”

It really hadn’t happened in years. It was rumored that Bellstein’s sword and magic were sharp enough to say that even pickpockets, let alone thieves, could not even go near Bellstein Castle.

“Looking at his outfit and belongings, he seems to be a mercenary from another country.”

Jarga pulled out a chubby bag of gold coins.

“It looks like they were trying to break into the castle after being commissioned.”

“…Right.”

Even though it was a rather serious matter, his master was still calm.

“How will you deal with it? He’s been in the works for a while, so we’ll find out the source soon.” To Jarga’s report, Louivid responded briefly as if it was natural.

“Kill him.”

“…What?”

A bewildered light appeared on the knight’s face, who believed it was the norm to find out who ordered it.

Louivid said as if it was a bit annoying.

“Do I have to say it twice for you to hear it?”

“No. My Lord.”

Jarga immediately lowered his head. The master looked like he knew something.

‘Is there a source that he can guess?’

After Jarga retreated, Louivid bit the crackling candy. He frowned at the bitter sweetness.
