Outside the tripod, Xuan Lingzi’s sword already slit a wound on Blood Pill Master’s throat. Blood oozed out, but the Blood Pill Master still insisted, “Look, Xuan Lingzi, I don’t know what you are talking about. Though I respect you, but you are indeed younger than me. To me, you’re just like a kid! I’ve been cultivating for more than two thousand and nine hundred years, and that’s quite enough. If you insist on killing me by some ridiculous reason, I could do nothing but let you. However, it would be impossible for me to turn in something that I don’t even know what that is!”
Blood seeping out from Xuan Lingzi’s lips, but he kept the sword where it was, having no intention of letting go of the Blood Pill Master.
They were stuck in a stalemate, but suddenly, a husky voice sounded behind the Pill Master’s back, “Is this the legendary Blood Pill Master? Oh no, my bad, I believe Blood Pill Monster would be a more proper name. Blood Pill Monster, do you really have no idea what Xuan Lingzi… Sir Xuan Lingzi is asking for?”
“Kid, watch your mouth!” The Blood Pill Master put all of his attention on Xuan Lingzi, without noticing there was someone approaching him from his back.
Lifting his eyes, Xuan Lingzi recognized Mo Qiu, but he didn’t say anything to him.
Mo Qiu continued, “Well, I believe you already saw that gigantic black vortex eight thousand three hundred miles away. In the area from here to the center of the vortex, you are the only Da Sheng Period cultivator who is still lingering around. All of the Fiend Cultivators in the world knew that you are already reaching your limit. Why are you running while carrying the Towering Fiend Tripod right now instead of staying at somewhere idly enjoying your last few years? Do you really think we are stupid enough to believe you are simply doing your daily exercise?”
The Blood Pill Master was so mad that he almost spat out a mouthful of blood, but Mo Qiu went on saying, “Sir Xuan Lingzi, I am the disciple of the Fiend Exalt. My Master once told me that though the Blood Pill Monster wasn’t a talented cultivator, his Fiend tripod is a high-grade item. This furnace could devour heaven and earth. It contains a space inside which only the Blood Pill Monster could get in.”
Blood finally came out from the Blood Pill Master’s mouth, “Nonsense!”
Mo Qiu showed him little tolerance, “Shut your mouth up!”
Tilting his head to look at Mo Qiu, Xuan Lingzi asked with no expression on his face, “How can we get access to the space?”
Thinking it over, Mo Qiu replied, “Ask him to give us an access. The ward of this Fiend Furnace is constructed based on the Spiritual Power of his Primordial Life. Therefore, he is the only one who can draw back the Spiritual Power and release…”
Mo Qiu came to an abrupt halt.
Astonishingly, he saw Xuan Lingzi pierced through Blood Pill Monster’s heart with no hesitation. With blood billowing from his mouth, the latter stared at Xuan Lingzi in disbelief, “Why… why are you doing this to me! If I didn’t kidnap your disciple, aren’t you slaughtering me for nothing…”
Hearing his words, Xuan Lingzi’s ice-froze face melted a little. A trace of surprise and relief emerged from his visage, the Master didn’t answer Blood Pill Master’s question. Instead, he drew out Xuan Ling Sword and turned back to examine the tripod.
This time, when he looked down, he saw the person he’s been desperately looking for.
Luo Jianqing was standing in the deep bottom of the tripod, gazing at Xuan Lingzi, while his Master was looking back at him as well.
The moment their eyes met in the air, time froze. They looked at each other for a long time. Suddenly, Xuan Lingzi reached out to Luo Jianqing’s hand. The disciple tapped the floor with his foot and got out of the furnace.
Lips moving, Xuan Lingzi was about to say something, but he noticed the blood scabs covering Luo Jianqing’s body. He frowned immediately, fingertips trembling, “You… are you hurt? Is it serious? I’ll bring you back to Tai Hua Mountain at once. I’ll take you to Yu Qingzi, right, I’ll take you to her and ask her to heal your injuries…”
Xuan Lingzi mumbled nervously, losing all of his calm manner. Luo Jianqing’s heart melted.

“It’s okay, Master. I’ve got no wound on my body right now. I’m all right.”
Xuan Lingzi stared at him abstractedly, not believing his words. “Jianqing, don’t treat me like a fool. You are covered with blood right now and you must be badly wounded. Let’s go back to Tai Hua Mountain now, I’ll take you to…”
“Wu Yin!” Luo Jianqing embraced the man dressed in white standing in front of him. Lowering his voice, Luo Jianqing whispered beside his Master’s ear, “Hey, calm down, I said that I’m okay, and I mean it. You came here just in time. It wasn’t late at all. Nothing devastating happened to me.”
Feeling the warmth of his disciple, Xuan Lingzi was stunned for a while and then hugged him back.
The Master and disciple stood beside the roaring river for a long time, holding each other in their arms. Then a cough interrupted them. Luo Jianqing tilted his head in surprise and finally found there was someone else staying around!
Luo Jianqing released his Master from his arms immediately, “Mo Qiu? What are you doing here?”
Mo Qiu replied expressionlessly, “Well, why can’t I just pass by?”
Mouth twitching, Luo Jianqing almost lost his manner but immediately realized that his Master was still around. He coughed, and said in a serious tone, “Why is it so hard for you to say the truth? Anyway, today I managed to steal my life back from the death and even you are here to rescue me. A blessing in disguise, I guess. A good thing indeed…”
Suddenly, Luo Jianqing found his hand was gripped tightly by Xuan Lingzi. Looking at his Master in surprise, he saw Xuan Lingzi frown and heard him asking, “Why do you think it’s a good thing to see this Fiend Cultivator?”
Luo Jianqing widened his eyes, “Master, you know that he is a Fiend Cultivator?”
Xuan Lingzi nodded, “Yes, but why do you think it’s a good thing?”
Luo Jianqing asked, “How did you know that he is a Fiend Cultivator?”
Before Xuan Lingzi answered him, Mo Qiu sneered, “I told your Master that I am the Fiend Exalt’s disciple who knows how to destroy the ward covering the Towering Fiend Tripod. What else could I be as Fiend Exalt’s disciple?”
Luo Jianqing was speechless.
Then, Mo Qiu told Luo Jianqing about Blood Pill Master who kidnapped and imprisoned him.
Though breaking though Periods at an incredible speed, Luo Jianqing was just a young cultivator who had only cultivated for fifty years, while Blood Pill Master was living incognito for hundreds of years and his name was known by fewer and fewer cultivators. What he knew about Blood Pill Master was just the fact that he was a Da Sheng Period Fiend Cultivator who was very good at Pill Forging and that’s all.
Recalling something, Luo Jianqing said, “That Blood Pill Monster claimed that he’s going to forge me alive into a Human Pill.”
Mo Qiu was shocked.
Xuan Lingzi’s gaze turned ice-cold, “He wanted to destroy your soul, end your samsara, and erase you completely from the world in order to forge you into a Human Pill?”
Xuan Lingzi was incredibly talented on Pill Forging. Neither Luo Jianqing nor Mo Qiu knew what it meant to be forged into a Human Pill. The former literally knew nothing, while the latter only heard a little about it. However, Xuan Lingzi knew clearly. Massacring villages after villages in order to absorb the Spiritual Power and Life Energy out of the victims, the Fiend Cultivators were already acting against the Heavenly Will, and forging human into pills was the most villainous way of cultivating among Fiend Cultivators.
Condensing every bit of Spiritual Power and Life Energy into a pill and then consuming it could skyrocket a Fiend Cultivator’s power. If a person was only slaughtered by a Fiend Cultivator and lost all of his or her Spiritual Power to the murderer, the victim could still enter samsara, but once being forged into Human Pill, the person would lose his or her soul forever, completely eliminated from the world.
Hearing this from his Master, Luo Jianqing was shocked in a cold sweat.
