He was reincarnated not only as a sinner but also as a weak-limbed man, Binh An for a moment did consider dying would be a more pleasant experience.
But while he was in despair, a man's voice suddenly rang up from the other side of the door.
Binh An felt resentful, if only that man had come earlier, he would not have been "crippled" and almost broke his shoulder and lost a leg.
The voice was low and hostile, as if giving out a warning.
“Which type of evil spirit are you? What's your purpose in coming here and performing this heinous deed?”
Binh An was still sore all over, struggling on the ground, losing all patience, he started screaming back at the man’s voice.
"Hunger! I want to eat! Even if you lock people up, you still have to feed them! Even death row inmates get to eat their last meal! Why would you abandon me to become a hungry ghost!"
There was silence behind the door, only a few whispers could be heard.
"So it turned out that that thing inside is a hungry ghost, I guess in his past life he couldn't have a nice meal and die of famine, his soul couldn’t cross to the other realms without getting his wish, now he is roaming around asking for food, we should still meet him needs, once he’s satisfied, he will automatically leave, the young master can then be at rest…"
Having said that, the two behind the door mutually agreed to let him out, some clicking sound rang up a little, the doorknob turned slightly and the door finally opened wide, letting an orange light flood in.
The two unfamiliar figures stood there, glued to each other, their whole faces showing the wariness of Binh An's presence while inspecting him from top to bottom.
The muscular man was probably in his forties, his attire was quite strange to Binh An but it was somewhat similar to what he was wearing right now. In his hand, there was a shovel with the handle full of talisman, it was to use for their own protection and to ward off evil spirits if needed.
The woman was also past her youthful days; she dressed plainly with a thin and light dress with no extravagant pattern. She was scared and dared not to leave the back of that middle-aged man. And she was indeed the person Binh An met when he first opened his eyes.
Binh An heard the door open, but he was simply too tired and too lazy to move, so he still kept his lying on the ground position, raised an arm in the air, waved and said the words as if he was dying, "A bowl of rice… please!"
The two strangers looked at each other, second later, the man leaned his head to signal her to go, the woman nodded, turned her back and ran down the stairs, leaving the two in complete silence.
After a while, she ran back up again with a tray full of food; it was a bowl full of leftover rice with a few side dishes, fish, meat and vegetables. It was a reward for Binh An's good behavior.
Binh An was still closing his eyes when he sniffed the delicious smell. He immediately got up and reached out towards the tray like a happy little puppy.
The three didn't say anything to each other, they just silently observed Binh An as he devoured all the food in a matter of seconds, can’t help but to pity him. As the last grain of rice went through his mouth and down his throat, the two middle-aged people couldn't help but feel relieved, thinking that this hungry spirit must have his wish granted and now would let go of the young master’s body.
They didn’t expect that right after he finished eating, Binh An naturally said thank you for the food and then went off to bed to get some more sleep like nothing had happened.
Wait a minute!
“Hey you hungry spirit! You wanted to eat and now that you have eaten, you should have been gone, what are you still doing here?"

The man pulled Binh An in the neck, forced him to get up, but his whole body was sluggish, he didn't have the strength to move even his fingers, his eyes were still shut tight and he only opened his mouth a little bit to say.
“If you want to go somewhere, you have to recharge your energy first before you have enough strength to go…”
Well… that sounded reasonable.
Wait! No! That’s not right!
The man tightened his grip again.
"You wake up now! Get out of the young master’s body! We have granted you your wish!"
The two pulled back and forth until Binh An got mad and raised his voice to speak up.
"I AM the young master! Stop with all the pulling already! Let me sleep!"
After a sentence like that, ordinary people certainly wouldn’t be that easy to believe, but when these two heard that, their faces lit up, immediately rushed to hug their young master and cried out loud.
"Oh, my prayer has worked!"
"The young master is back! The young master is back!"
“Thank goodness me!”
"The young master is blessed, the good-natured young master is truly blessed!”
Binh An finally saw through their acting, these two obviously trying to harass him using different methods rather than cursing and yelling. A vein popped up on his forehead, he started to miss being alone in a quiet desert, which was now a lot more attractive than hearing all these crying and touching. He said silently to himself.
“I should be a good person. I should be a good person. I should be a good person. I should be a good person…”
However, the crying wouldn’t stop, the two started to do some outrageous gestures, thrashing around like two fishes just got out of the water.
“...Starting tomorrow!” Binh An snapped and then turned to hold the man's wrist.
"ENOUGH! LET ME SLEEP IN PEACE AND THEN I WILL CONSIDER!"
But as soon as he touched it, the man let out a scream of pain, finally jerking his hand back. Binh An discovered, on the middle-aged man’s arm, there was a long deep wound, it was still very new, so he could make it out as a shape of the one left by a claw.
