[ALARM!

You have the qualification to be a player. Will you accept?]

"Huh? Player? Is this some kind of a game?" Raaf scratched his head.

It felt surreal to him. This was not inside the VR set that he played inside where this kind of notification would come, it was the real world. He couldn't make out the situation.

After pondering for a while, "If I have the qualification then might as well take it."

He thought for some time and came to the conclusion that there was no downside to accepting it.

"I accept!"

[Congratulations on becoming a player.]

[Checking the body status...]

"Did it just pff me after seeing my job?"

Peep peep

"Oh shit! I am in the middle of the street. Gotta move now or I'll be late for the delivery."

Vroom

He went on to complete his delivery and did his other part-time jobs for the day.

It was now nighttime.

Whiish

He covered himself with a blanket.

[Notification!

The Voidnet Tower will open tonight at 12:00 AM.]

"The Voidnet Tower? That's the VR game that I played previously... or should I say in the future. Is it the tower that suddenly sprung out today afternoon?"

"I should check it out tomorrow morning. For now, I'll just..." As he was thinking, he fell asleep deeply.

***

The next day, Raaf woke up at around 6 AM and quickly went to the site of the tower.

There were a large number of people outside the tower. Some were taking pictures, others were talking to each other and a few were looking at the towers with a smile.

From far away, there was nothing significant about the tower except for its medieval-style looks and being tall. However, upon being closer to it, it exuded a huge aura almost as if it was the center of the world.

There was a single large door in front of the tower and nothing else.

While some were able to enter the tower through the door, there were also those forcefully kicked back by some unknown force preventing them from entering.

It seemed like some conditions needed to be made in order to enter the tower.

"Alright, I should try going in."

Raaf stepped up to go to the door.

"Haah look at that fool. He will just get kicked back in a while. Does he even know that only chosen people can enter the tower?" A voice emerged from the crowd.

Raaf ignored it and tried going through to the tower.

As he touched the door, a voice appeared, it was the sound of the notification.

[Confirming the entrance of 'Raaf' player...]

[Welcome to The Voidnet Tower. Good luck on your journey.]

[Will you proceed to the tutorial?]

"Yes!!!"

Just as the sound faded away, he saw a light emerging in his vision. The surrounding was becoming clearer.

He arrived at a room similar to a dungeon. This was a scene familiar to him.

"This looks exactly like the VR game..."

Then a group of slime arrived in front of him.

[The tutorial will now begin.]

[Please use the provided spear to kill the slimes]

The spear appeared out of nowhere in Raaf's hand.

"This brings back the memory."

He had a smile on his face as he took an attacking stance.

"The newbies will have quite a hard time with these slimes. They can't be easily killed with this spear by just stabbing anywhere. There is a trick to killing these slimes."

The group of slime jumped at him but Raaf easily killed them with just a few stabs.

"These slimes have a secret core in their body. It is so small that it will be difficult to notice it with just a glance. But not for me. I spent hours previously just to kill a single slime. That's when I noticed these cores."

"If you know about these cores then it's pretty easy to deal with. This is also the reason the weapon for this part of the tutorial is a spear."

Raaf stabbed the last of the slime.

[Congratulations! You have cleared 1/10 part of the tutorial.]

[You will now be moved to the second part of the tutorial.]

This was another scene familiar to him.

A bunch of goblins standing there with a weapon in their hand.

[Please use the provided sword to kill the goblins]

A sword appeared in his hand.

"Again, the goblins are very weak. If you can defeat one of them, you can defeat all of them. The problem is with their grouping. You have to kill the one acting as the leader and other goblins will fall in dismay. This is the go-to strat for this stage."

Raaf looked closely at the goblin group.

"There it is!"

He spotted a goblin slightly taller and wider than other goblins with a staff in its hand.

"That must be the leader."

Raff swiftly moved around the goblins behind rocks and sliced the goblin leader in half. Soon after all the goblins fell into panic and it was an easy kill for Raff.

"Okay, Let's move on to the next level."

Raaf finished off the other remaining goblins.

[Congratulations! You have cleared 2/10 part of the tutorial.]

[You will now be moved to the third part of the tutorial.]

This time it was a large queen ant and a bunch of other ants guarding it.

[Please use the provided bow and arrow to kill the ants]

"Alright, let's do it."

He moved above the rocks to have a better sight of the ants

"The key here is to find blind spots of the warrior ants and snipe the queen ant from a distance."

After looking for a while he found a perfect spot to target the queen ant from.

He stealthily went behind a rock close to the queen ant and readied his bow.

Swoosh

The arrow went off and it hit right in the head of the queen ant. The blood gushed off from its head and it fell right to the ground.

Like the goblins, the warrior ants started panicking and Raff sniped all of them one by one from the same position.

[Congratulations! You have cleared 3/10 part of the tutorial.]

The tutorial went on without a hitch from his past experience and knowledge.

[Congratulations! You have cleared 4/10 part of the tutorial.]

[Congratulations! You have cleared 5/10 part of the tutorial.]....

Until he reached the final stage of the tutorial.

[Congratulations! You have cleared 9/10 part of the tutorial.]

[You will now be moved to the final stage of the tutorial.]

[Survive the waves using any means possible.]

This was the stage that Raaf had failed on previously. As you only get to play the tutorial only once, he couldn't try anymore.

[The wave will begin every night at 12:00 AM until dawn.]

[You will now be teleported to a sieged city.]

[Good Luck]

It was as if even the game was telling Raaf about the difficulty of this stage. But of course, he already knew how difficult it is.
