Chapter 46: Alphie Likes You, Sir!

"Wait, you only did this to someone you like? Does that mean you actually like me?" Cha Junshik asked. 

"Oh, Alphie likes you, Sir!" Alpheus said happily. "Alpheus really likes you!"

Cha Junshik's eyes widened. He didn't expect this werepom to actually harbor a feeling for him. They had only known each other for like… 4 days at best, and he was already in love?! 

'That's not love. That's just him wanting to latch on me because I'm the only one familiar in this world for him,' Junshik concluded in his heart. He was pretty skeptical about love because he had gotten so many love confessions since he was a child.

He still remembered the girl who confessed to him when he was only 6 years old.

"Cha Junshik, Saranghae…"

"… You're 10 years old."

Then, when he was 12 years old, another girl confessed.

"Cha Junshik, Saranghae."

"Really? What do you like from me?"

"Because you're handsome!"

"… Is that all?"

"Yes!"

After he hit puberty and went to high school, the rains of confession started pestering him. Because he would get so many confessions, even daily, at some point.

He was basically the most popular guy in high school.

Cha Junshik was enrolled in all-boys high school, so all of the love confessions in high school were basically hundreds of boys liking him for his look.

Because… let's face it, men were visual creatures. They liked what they saw. Cha Junshik happened to fit all the beauty standards in Korea, so other than getting love confessions so many times, he also got scouted by many entertainment agencies to be an idol or actor.

But his true calling was always on academics. He loved teaching and doing research on many things. So he wanted to be an academician instead of an entertainer. 

Anyway, he was so used to banal love confession that he grew numb to it.

'I bet Alpheus doesn't really love me. He just likes my face,' Junshik thought. But of course, he wouldn't humiliate Alpheus for feeling that way. He just needed more insight into what Alpheus was feeling right now and tried to straighten things up, so it wouldn't be awkward for them to do so live together. 

"What kind of like that you have to me, Alphie?" Junshik asked. 

"Um… what kind of like?" Alpheus tilted his head confusedly. "I just like Sir Junshik Hyung!"

"No, not like that. Do you like me as your friend or…"

"Ah, yes! Sir Junshik Hyung is my SUPER MEGA BEST FRIEND! I like Sir Junshik Hyung!" Alpheus said happily.

Cha Junshik facepalmed because he was getting worried for nothing at all. Of course, a dumb wolf-like Alpheus wouldn't even think about falling in love or finding his mate. 

All Alpheus wanted to do was just kill his prey and conquer lands.

But that was a big relief for Junshik because he didn't like this dog as well. For him, Alpheus was just a new tenant who happened to be cute and fun to play with in bed.

"Sir, do you like me too?" Alpheus asked with a sparkle in his eyes. His tail wagged from behind, even before Junshik said anything. 

Cha Junshik had no heart to say that he didn't feel anything for Alpheus, so Junshik only nodded lightly, "Yeah, I like you too, Alpheus…."

"WHA!! Sir! You're my first friend and also my first SUPER MEGA BEST FRIEND! Sir, we're going to be sworn brother for life!" Alpheus said as his tail wagged so hard it became a fan that blew the small things behind him. 

"Wait, you never have a friend before?"

"Um, no? In my Eclipse Kingdom, everyone except my parents is scared of me. And in the forest, I live alone because I'm the King of the Beast!" Alpheus said. 

"And you don't feel lonely?"

"Mmmm, not really since whenever I found a cute little thing, I just want to eat them alive!"

"Well, just promise me that you will never hurt me. Not in any way possible, and you must control yourself whenever you're near me, understand?" Cha Junshik started making boundaries. He knew that Alpheus, deep down, was a wild animal. If he didn't set the boundaries from the very beginning, then he might accidentally become Alpheus' brunch. 

"Yes, Sir! In the name of Crown Prince of Eclipse Kingdom and the King of the Beast in Elune Forest, I, Alpheus Wolve Rytnic, will never hurt Sir Cha Junshik Hyung! If my oath has been willingly broken by my deed, may I get struck with the moonbeam from our moon queen, Queen Serenity!"

Alpheus looked severe when he swore an oath but returned to his usual dumb self after he finished. 

Cha Junshik was assured after the oath, and he nodded, "Okay, I believe you. You're allowed to stay here… for a while. Just don't make a mess, and don't you dare to hurt me."

"Sir, Yes Sir!" Alpheus gave a salute to Junshik by raising his right hand. Which reminded Cha Junshik of a certain regime that used the same gesture to salute. 

But maybe it was just his imagination. 

"Alright, wash your face and hand. I will start cooking for breakfast," Cha Junshik said. But the moment he was about to get up, Alpheus suddenly clenched his grasp on Junshik's leg.

"Sir, I haven't finished sucking on your tendon…." Alpheus begged. "Please let me do it again."

"You've literally sucked all the sweat off, you dirty dog."

"But not on your left leg!" Alpheus said as he quickly grabbed the other leg of the high-ranked holy mage. "Please let me clean your sweat and suck your tendon, Sir!"

Cha Junshik thought it was utterly ridiculous, but when he saw how eager Alpheus was, he sighed and leaned back on the sofa, "Fine, just remember not to bite."
