Prologue

500 years in the past

The Void Lords sat atop their thrones, above the air, where birds were soaring. Below them, there was devastation; vast swaths of land were consumed by purple flame, and the Beasts of the Void ran around, devouring every human they saw. The Void was chaotic, but they were also seen as beautiful. The purple bodies were made of mana, their eyes shone brightly, and their power alone could destroy armies. Death. That was the only thing you'd be able to smell if you were on the land of humanity. Corpses were piling up.

Their smile could be seen, and despite being made out of mana, they were visually seen to be humanoids. With what would be their hands, they grasp the swords on their sides. Their swords were sharp; they could kill somebody casually with just a single swing. If they were a Void Warrior, they could penetrate any armor; if they were a Void Lord, they could destroy the core of a planet. The void was something to be feared.

Men from the Void come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Void Beasts, Void Warriors, Void Guards, Voidwalkers, Void Lords—the list goes on. Despite the various types of Void, Void Lords are the most rare, with the rest being equally common as the others. They are, however, created by the same thing. The Void Lords are the princes or kings of Void.

"DESTRUCTION!!!" The Void Lord yells as he draws his sword from his side. He raises it, pointing the tip of it at the center of the planet they were on. Millions would perish with a single thrust of the sword; instead, they hold it there, pointing it directly. They didn't want to kill everything in their path right now, or they did, but they'd leave the damage to their beasts. They wanted the conflict between humanity and the Void to last as long as possible; they wanted their food to fight, not be caught easily.

Humans were distraught; they didn't want to lose the fight, but they realized they couldn't win. They understood that even if they fought with their strongest men, the Void would defeat them. Even if they had assistance from the universe's most powerful entities, they would succumb to the Void.

They were indeed strong, but in comparison to the Celestials or the Void, they were nothing more than ants. Humans, no matter how hard they tried, could never reach their level. They try and attempt again, but they are always beaten at the first stage. The void and celestials could be compared to demons and angels, but they were on an entirely different scale. Angels and demons previously existed; the void and celestials exist only as distinct entities. Nobody knew where they originated from or what they were at first; all they knew was that they were powerful.

The Void Beasts were attacking everything in sight; people were being pushed to extinction, which pleased the Void Lords. They only had one aim in mind: to destroy and conquer the planet they were on. They didn't care how; all they wanted was to do it. That was their only purpose. Destruction.

"We battle, we conquer, and we annihilate." One of the void lords spoke up in their own tongue. Humans couldn't grasp what they were saying. Even attempting to do so would blow a mortal's mind up. "We bring death to everyone!"

With their final words, they drove their blade downward into the planet's core, and the world cracked with a single little piercing. Even from afar, the fissures were visible; there was no disguising how large they were. The blade was massive; purple flames from hell consumed it, causing it to spurt out from the fissures, further destroying the globe. It only took a few seconds for it to totally devour the entire world. It was melting; the planet itself was slowly collapsing, its fragments becoming meteorites.

Humans on this planet became extinct; they had a couple more planets in mind to devour, but they were summoned back to the continent of Void, their home.

There was no light in their homeland, only darkness. They could only see purple light from their own skin and eyes. Despite this, they were content; they didn't desire anything else.

They only desired to conquer. They were chaotic beasts who didn't want anything else.
