After dinner, Luo Ziling gave Ouyang Lingyun a physical examination. He advised the older man on what he should pay attention to and even gave him some healthcare prescriptions.
When he finished, Ouyang Feifei sent him back to campus. He’d intended to hitch a ride on Ouyang Huihui’s car, but since her elder sister had asked him to ride in hers, he wasn’t going to refuse.
“Why are you doing this?” Ouyang Feifei asked as the car pulled out of the villa.
“What?” Luo Ziling knew what she was referring to, but feigned obliviousness. “What do you mean?”
She turned her head to look at him. There was a half-smile on her face, but she didn’t say anything to elaborate on her question.
It wasn’t long before the silence got to Luo Ziling. With an awkward smile, he said, “Actually, I couldn’t think of any request at the time, so I was hoping you could help me with it. You’re more experienced than me in this kind of thing, so…”
Before the meal, when Li Jiacheng had said that he was willing to accept any conditions that Luo Ziling would propose, Luo Ziling had thrown this difficult problem to Ouyang Feifei to handle.
His decision had not only surprised Li Jiacheng and his son, but also Ouyang Lingyun, not to mention Ouyang Feifei, though neither of them commented on his audacity. Ouyang Feifei had even nodded slightly, indicating that she was willing to do this for him.
Li Jiacheng and his son didn’t stay long. After Ouyang Feifei told them that she would send someone to discuss compensation with them in two days, they took their leave. When they left, Li Jiacheng repeatedly apologized to Luo Ziling, forcing his son to do the same.
Li Dongjun, who had not recovered from his injuries, could only humbly go forward and repeatedly apologize, though the sour look on his face clearly highlighted his reluctance to do so.
After the father-son duo had left, Ouyang Lingyun and Ouyang Feifei did not speak up on anything else involving them. Luo Ziling had been surprised by their actions, but he’d felt too uncomfortable to bring it up.
It was fortunate for him that Ouyang Feifei had decided to speak on it now.
“But why should I help you?” Ouyang Feifei asked, her tone rather unfriendly. He’d had the audacity to put her on the spot like that without any prior discussion, so why wouldn’t she be unhappy?
She didn’t expect Luo Ziling to be quite so bold.
Of course, she also felt that this guy didn’t take her seriously. He’d even treated her like a servant.
“Because I know that you will help me. You said it last time, remember?” Luo Ziling ignored Ouyang Feifei’s unfriendly gaze and smiled slightly. “‘As long as it is within my power, I will make it come true!’ was what you said. You have to keep your promises!”
Ouyang Feifei didn’t answer immediately. Instead, she looked at him with slight contempt. After a long while, she said, “You say that, and yet you yourself went back on a promise that was made ten years ago. Why should I keep mine?”
Her words immediately flustered Luo Ziling. She was also staring at him unblinkingly, which made the situation even more unbearable.
“Then what do you want?” His embarrassment had turned to indignation. “If you have something in mind, then say it!”
“I already have, but you don’t want to do it!” Ouyang Feifei replied, then turned her head and looked forward.
“Can you change your request? Anything except for this!”
Ouyang Feifei didn’t answer after that. She maintained the same posture as before, sitting elegantly, her eyes looking straight ahead.
This made Luo Ziling feel very awkward, and he became even angrier out of embarrassment. He did not say anything else, but turned his head to look at the scenery outside.

The car soon arrived at the entrance of Yenching University. After the car came to a stop in a quiet place, Luo Ziling immediately got out of the car.
When he did so, he noticed that Ouyang Feifei was still sitting in the same position as before, without even bothering to acknowledge that he was leaving. He could not help but become even angrier.
“If you don’t want to think of something else, then I’ll settle this matter myself.” As he said that, he closed the car door forcefully and left.
Seeing that Luo Ziling was a little angry when he left, Ouyang Feifei couldn’t help but feel depressed. After he left, she finally shifted into a more comfortable position as she leaned against the armrest. However, she didn’t immediately order the driver to start the car.
After a while, Wang Qing, who was sitting in a different, came over and knocked on the door. After receiving Ouyang Feifei’s signal, she got into the car.
“Mistress,” Wang Qing whispered, “Who are we waiting for?”
“Let’s go to the company,” Ouyang Feifei replied, waving her hand.
Wang Qing took the hint and immediately instructed the driver to start the car.
Tomorrow, Ouyang Feifei had to discuss the matter of cooperation with an important guest. Because she had returned to Xiangshan Villa early today, many things had been left incomplete, so she had to rush back to the company to work overtime.
As the car drove away from Yenching University, Ouyang Feifei suddenly said, “You have to personally discuss the compensation with Li Jiacheng and his son. Make sure that the total amount they will owe does not drop below one billion!”
Ouyang Feifei’s instructions gave Wang Qing a shock, but she did not ask anything unnecessary while in the driver’s presence. She only nodded to show that she understood.
However, when the car arrived at the company’s headquarters and the two of them entered the elevator, she could not help but ask, “Mistress, isn’t this request too high? Is his life worth that much?”
Ouyang Feifei calmly replied, “Ling Ruonan’s son, the grandson of the Ling family, was once my fiancé. Do you think his life is not worth one billion?”
“Yes, Mistress! I understand!” Although she’d agreed, Wang Qing hesitated and asked again, “I think one billion will hurt Li Jiacheng greatly!”
“If he doesn’t take out this small amount of compensation, Ling Ruonan will want their heads! She’ll also make sure to humiliate us!”
As she spoke, Ouyang Feifei had already walked into her spacious but simple office. However, she did not sit down immediately. Instead, she walked to the French window and looked out at the city skyline outside.
Wang Qing did not dare to disturb her and began to make her preparations quietly.
Suddenly, Ouyang Feifei asked abruptly, “Wang Qing, is he very outstanding?”
“What?” Wang Qing hadn’t expected her to suddenly ask her that kind of question, so she couldn’t react in time.
Ouyang Feifei didn’t repeat herself, however. She continued to look at the scenery outside the window.
“He is indeed very outstanding.” Wang Qing thought for a moment and carefully answered the question. “But I think he still doesn’t deserve you, Miss!”
“But he and his mother both despise me!”
Wang Qing didn’t know how to react when faced with Ouyang Feifei’s despondent tone of voice.
