•Space. It has endless possibilities. Space is limitless. It is vast and full of mysteries, one would be interested in. A place where many discovered unknowns.

Cosmo. Related to the Universe. Not many explored its existence yet known in the books. However, as time moved on many grew less interested. Until presumably forgotten. It is also a place full of new discoveries.

Universe. The one who holds both. Space is within its area along with the Cosmo. The Universe is huge as it has every creation inside it. None however has been able to dig deep into the concept. For all is unknown outside of it.

These three are akin to brothers. The universe is the oldest. Space is the middle. Cosmo is the youngest. One thing they have in common is having new discoveries and being full of mysteries. They are with no limits in possibilities.

***

Researchers. They specialize in discovering new knowledge. They thirst for it. However not many were alive in this profession. The danger it carries when having a curiosity for things they should not pry with plays with the hands of death itself. One wrong move could lead to disasters. The sole reason why many gave up, except for one.

There was once a man. He was young and full of curiosity. His passion for discovering knowledge he had not known can only be described as a sponge. Absorbs fast yet still yearn for more. The thrill of the journey it held. Though not many were passionate like he was.

A report stated that a new comet has appeared. The man, being a researcher decided to check it out. He climbed mountains and passed the wildlife. Struggling as he continued to walk through difficult terrains. Although his efforts were not futile in the end. Upon arriving at the destination. He saw something that cannot be explained by mere theories. Excitement made his blood boil. The sight itself was a wonder for many.

Not waiting any longer, he walked towards it. Upon a closer look, what he saw fascinated him. The comet had markings surrounding it. Moving as if alive. It weirded him out. But as his eyes continued to lay upon it he was drawn closer.

Drawn to it, he reached out. Once making contact, the markings moved. It climbed into his hands, reaching his arms and stopped at his neck. Shocked by what had happened. He checked the markings on his body only to find nothing. His eyes once went to the comet but were found gone. Everything that happened, happened so fast he felt like hallucinating.

Deciding to go back and rest for the day. If what he saw was real, then he might need to investigate what happened to him. Although he hoped that it was only a dream. A very realistic dream. Little did he know, his life is about to take a turn.

The next day, nothing out of the ordinary happened. The man was back to his old life. Life of a researcher. Until one day. He as usual was the last person to leave his institute. Arriving at his home, he trudged his tired body straight to bed and not even bothering to change his clothes to a comfortable one, fell asleep as soon as his body relaxed. He dreamt of what happened when he found the comet back then. The dream replayed the events like a broken music box.

Unbeknownst to him. Markings appeared and started to shine a green hue through his clothes. The same markings the comet once had. Then disappear like it wasn't there, to begin with.

The man, better known as Abel. Woke up feeling refreshed in the morning. Abel didn't know why he felt that way. Like some kind of huge burden has been lifted off him. He remembered having to work late and dead tired. He didn't have a memory of doing something that would have such an after-effect. While his work may be tiresome, it wasn't to the point of him passing out in the middle of the job.

Walking to the bathroom. He grab hold of the doorknob only for the doorknob to be broken in his grasp. Blinking multiple in shock, he looked at the supposed doorknob in pieces. Abel tried to process what happened. He knew that he didn't possess that much strength so what could possibly make it happen? Walking to the mirror, he noticed something strange.

The mark on his right neck was familiar to him. Also looked a bit like a tattoo. It went down to his right arm and reached the hand. And that's when he remembered. Gasping in shock, he stumbled back.

After he calmed himself down a bit. He inspected the mark on his arm. "What is this?" He could not help but ask aloud in curiosity. Eyeing it in suspicion, he tried to make it glow like it did when he grasped the doorknob. He concentrated and focused his mind back on when he touched the comet. Not long a hue of green shined and it surrounded his arms not for some reason, directly on the skin but only outside of it. Similar to a barrier.

As he made a grabbing motion, Abel thought back to what happened on the door and went to look for something far harder than wood. With not many choices at his home, he went for a rock in his collection. Abel could care less about it, right now he was focused on his hand. At the moment he wanted to know the limits of his newfound power. Making a chop motion and lightly hitting it. To his surprise, the rock was broken in half.

"Hmm, it seems that it increases my strength by a lot."

Abel murmured in thought. He didn't know exactly how far this 'a lot' goes and he needed to test that out. He was so focused on his train thoughts that the alarm on his clock startled him. Looking at the time, it showed that he was...late.

With wide eyes, he stood up abruptly. Not even making him dizzy in the process, which should've happened. Yet it seems that he did not notice it. He went to the bathroom again and did his business fast. He left without eating breakfast and was not even aware of it as well.

At work, Abel could not focus as his mind kept on wondering about the event that transpired earlier. The mysteries he needed to discover and will those said mysteries be a problem? That was for him to find out. So in the middle of his work, mixing chemicals and all, as his mind started to wander to a different route, his right hand slipped and spilt the content of the bottle to his other hand. Greatly surprising the one next to him.

"Hey! Are you alright!?"

The concerned voice snapped him out of his thoughts and looked towards the voice. The person that called out worriedly pointed at his left hand. He turned to look and it was bleeding. By a lot. His coworkers next to him were confused. Abel was well known in the entire facility as the always-inspired person and never once made a mistake. Yet now he did.

While the others panicked seeing the amount of blood oozing out of his hands, Abel was oddly very calm about the situation. After an emergency medication and the situation being handled, he was sent back home to rest. On the way, he stumbled upon a child. A boy in tattered clothes. His face was hidden by his long hair. Abel wondered why such a young child was outside in the cold but in the meantime, he decided to take the boy with him.

He had never taken care of someone before. Hell, he can't even take care of himself. His entire life revolved around him alone as well as research. He looked at the boy and noticed a resemblance with one of them. If someone would not look closely they would be interpreted as father and son. Abel knows he never engaged in any kind of act like that. So why did the boy look exactly like him? Alas, too tired to figure it out, he set the boy in his bedroom and slept in the living room. He drifted to the dreamland again but not before muttering, "Too many crazy stuff happening today" and directly fell asleep.

In the morning. The boy woke up peacefully. That's odd. He never sleeps well before. First, he was surprised at his newfound surroundings. The second was that the dream he usually has didn't appear. He got down from the comfy bed with hesitation as he didn't want to leave such a soft bed yet but he needed to know where he was and went downstairs. Then he smelled a fragrance he was familiar with. Living in the streets has its ups and down after all. Heading to the kitchen, he saw a man cooking some food he has never seen before. Slightly flinching when the man turned to look at him and froze. He wasn't very good at interacting with others considering his situation. At most, many would just forget he was ever there.

"Ah, you're awake. Sit down and eat your breakfast."

The boy looked at the food displayed on the table in a daze. There was a lot. Different kinds too. Was this the normal amount for a breakfast? He was homeless before so he wasn't entirely sure.

The boy sat down and asked: "For me?"

Abel with a smile nodded: "Yes, for you" and quickly added.

Abel's smile widened when the boy started eating. Together they ate in silence with a harmonious air, even though they are strangers.

At some point, the feast ended. Abel went to wash the dishes and the boy stayed seated as he relished the aftertaste of the food he ate. Apparently, the boy ate to his delight. And while washing the dishes. Abel could not help but ask. "Do you have a name?"

The boy flinched in his seat and Abel who saw this sighed. Of course, he had to make the boy uncomfortable. Curse his curiosity.

"I'm sorry. If it's hard for you, you don't have to answer."

He said smiling reassuringly at the boy. After that, the whole day was filled with silence. Oddly enough it was a comforting one. Both observed each other. Right now, words were not needed.

And so days passed. Abel taught the boy how some things work. He also discovered new powers and how to use them. Meanwhile, the boy now named Alan also had the same passion for research. Alan was a genius at his age. Abel found out about it and he was proud of it. At some point, he adopted Alan and became his official son.

He also decided to tell the truth. On how he found a comet and how it gave him powers. Showed Alan some demonstrations. Abel was basically a superman. Super strength, Enhanced senses, Night vision, Nigh Vulnerability, etc. What the humans could not have, he possesses. He became a hero. At least that's what people call him but to Alan, Abel was the dad one could ever find and that wouldn't no matter what. Time quickly passed by and a lot happened.

Months later, Alan was dubbed the youngest genius in history. He finished school at the age of 15. Alan helped his father in the hero business. He created technologies to help in support. Abel liked to call him his trusted sidekick. Always there to help him whenever he's in trouble. Alan was quite proud to be called that. It just means that his father has that much trust in him. Thus they were known as 'The Duo'. It was a pretty lame name but both of them were bad at naming so they stuck with it.

Years passed. Alan found his love. Abel approved of it and as he was getting busy as days passed, Abel worried that Alan may feel lonely. And in the end, he did not regret it giving his blessings to them. They were a happy family. Abel had a wonderful grandchild. Who also had so much curiosity. It seemed that curiosity was part of their genes now and would be for the next generation. Of course, the child is a genius. His father, Alan, was a genius so why wouldn't the child be? The intellect came from the father and the looks came from the mother.

Centuries arrived and their days were in a cycle. Although happy to say they were all a happy family all together. There were some occasional conflicts but it was solved peacefully.

This is how Abel, the researcher, truly felt happiness in his entire life.

And this is how a new person will begin their journey. How will they end up as? Will they be like Abel, who met wonderful people? Or will become the opposite?

The story, Fate has weaved will now begin.

Hey there!

This is my first time writing,  and for those who've read my past stories,  I'm sorry for not continuing them,  but with how often I have the writer's block,  my brain continues to make an entirely new and different story,  then those ideas bother me to no end.  Hopefully,  this one is the long-type series I'll have.

Sidenote: This is pretty edgy huh?
