(Yep, that was terrible treatment, even for me)
I tried reminiscing about the past, but it was pretty terrible.
Just then the Count stops kicking me.
“Haa… Haa… You are not my child! I don’t want to see your face anymore! Get away from here! I won’t forgive you if the name of Lunan Forseed slips your tongue!!”
After kicking me for a few minutes, and panting like a dog afterwards, the Count tells me that I was exiled from the house of Count Lunan Forseed.
Saying so, he leaves the room.
After confirming the Count had left, I stood up.
There weren’t any particular bruises or anything, but my clothes were torn and I couldn’t wear them anymore.
Today, I was no longer a frontier aristocrat, and later the same day I couldn’t even remain an aristocrat anymore.
Well, it’s not like I have any attachment to being an aristocrat so it’s fine.
I was only one in name, anyways.
“…Hm? Wait, am I now, unemployed?”
Until now I was working as a hunter while calling myself a frontier aristocrat, but that job itself has now disappeared, and when I thought I’d get work as an aristocrat, my title of an aristocrat itself had disappeared.
“…Well, it should be fine.”
I think I can manage being unemployed.
The work I was doing till now was only taken over by me from my mother.
“I wonder if I can just leave for some place far away.”
All the items I need to remember my mother from are in my [Storage].
The Count said he never wanted to see my face again, and it’s hard to work in this country.
If so, I have the option to leave for a faraway country.
Fortunately, I have strength.
I don’t feel like I’ll lose to a random stranger.
“Now that that’s decided, let’s leave.”
I leave the room in my state, and head out of the royal palace while being given curious looks by the passing-by servants. The royal citizens looked down on me with the whites of their eyes as if saying “What? Got into a fight?”.
I didn’t see it since I came from a horse-carriage, but there were vast grasslands outside the Royal Capital.
“Now then, I wonder where should I go.”
I began thinking this, while walking along the long road in the grasslands.
***
I proceeded slowly till the Royal Capital became visible far in the distance.
It should be fine this far away.
I usually run around while strengthening my body with magic, but the use of magic was forbidden around the capital.
Life in the Royal Capital is made convenient by the use of magic tools, and there seems to be security force armed with offensive magic tools.
Also, there are sensory magic tools set in place so that if you use magic, those security forces will jump on you.
Outside the Royal Capital, a weak body strengthening magic or using magic unknowingly might be within the margin of error, but strengthening your body enough to run at high speeds would definitely alarm the security forces.
That’s why I walked slowly till I was far away enough from the capital.

Besides, there’s something I always wanted to try.
Something anyone would have wanted to if they could use magic.
Yep. It’s flying in the air.
If I tried it while working as a frontier aristocrat and failed, I might have caused trouble for others, so I only tried small-scale magic till now.
Specifically, if I used movement magic and got shifted to some place far from home, it would be especially troublesome.
However, now I am grass in the wind.
Even if I can’t return home, it’s no longer a problem.
[Storage] even has food supplies worth a few days.
“Let’s try this right away.”
I started the flight experiment which could be called the dream of mankind.
***
Flying.
That was a dream of humanity since time immemorial.
It is realized in various ways in modern day Japan.
For example, an airship.
This uses “a gas lighter than air” to float in the air like bubbles float on water.
For example, an airplane.
This uses wings to convert forward moving force into ascending force to fly in the air.
For example, a rocket.
This uses an explosion in the downward direction. By injecting downwards, it goes up in the air due to the reaction.
There are many ways to fly including these, but I believe the third choice which is flying like a rocket, is the simplest one.
More than a rocket, I think that iron guy who appears in American comics is closer, but basically if you can float by using wind pressure from bottom to up, you can fly right? That is the rough idea.
Well I know the perfect magic for it.
I can’t use the magic spell itself, but I can replicate it using [Wind Blade].
In fact, since you have to activate it towards yourself, and in order to fly you need to activate it for a long period, [Wind Mallet] itself can’t be used for flying.
“Let’s try it out for the time being.”
The principle is simple, so if it’s just trying, I can do it without preparation.
For the time being, I apply [Robustness] to myself.
This is a magic to strengthen my body, so if the worst case comes to pass I’ll at least survive.
I’ll also apply [Windbreak].
If the [Wind Mallet] has too much energy, I can avoid grave damage at least.
[Windbreak] seems to have the effect of removing air resistance, and it can deflect the opponent’s wind attacks, but you still feel the pressure of the wind so it’s perfect for this experiment.
‘To begin with, I’ll try for 10 seconds.”
My preparations were complete, so I begin casting [Wind Mallet].
Make the tip as flat as possible, and make the effect time 10 seconds.
“Alright, ready for launch. 3, 2, 1. G-ooooooooo!”
If there were people nearby, they might have witnessed me becoming a shooting star.
After activating [Wind Mallet], I was blown away at tremendous speeds into the beyond.
