On the other side of things.
While Lu Xuan was having a great time with his family, the entire Human Alliance was still reeling from the shock resulting from a string of news about that great battle, Lu Xuan still being alive, as well as the forces of the Myriad Demon Valley siding with the humans.
The forces of both the Heavenly Palace and the Special Task Force were mobilized before anyone else knew anything about it.
Using the identity of that Caucasian old man as the lead, the investigations looking into the circle behind that man quickly commenced.
On that night, in a lavish estate in the west side of the place formerly known as the US, the owner of the estate—a man who looked to be in his 50s and dressed in middle ages attire and sported an immaculate hairstyle—was seen standing inside.
That thick, cold air that emanated from his being was unmistakable.
“Sh**, sh**! How could this possibly be? How could this fail? No, I must leave at once!”
That Caucasian man wore a glum expression as he made his decision, that he needed to leave as soon as possible to evade the backlash that was to come.
Boom!
The door of the hall he was in was kicked down all of a sudden and a group of people were seen storming inside.
“Adam Smith, you’re under arrest.”
The leader of the group was an Asian man who looked to be in his middle age, who spoke in fluent Huaxian, and never bothered worrying if that Caucasian man he was about to arrest not understanding what he said.
“What are you people up to?” The expression of the face of that Caucasian man who was known as Adam Smith change, as he replied in Huaxian right away.
“I take it that you’re Huaxians? You’ve no right to arrest me. This is American soil!” That man shouted, “This is preposterous!”
“American soil? Do you really think that you’re still living in the era of the United Nations? This is the soil of the Human Alliance and we of the Heavenly Palace serve under the Human Alliance. We’re empowered to enforce the law and we know what we’re doing.” That Asian man then continued with a smirk, with a toothpick sticking out of his mouth. “You’re busted now. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can be used against you in court? Well, that was how they say it in the TV shows I watched as a kid, hehe.”
“You lot have a lot of balls plotting against our palace lord indeed. I’d make sure to cut you open later and see what is inside that gut of yours.” That Asian man continued with a cold smirk. The look in his eyes was so unmistakably cold, that one would not have expected him to say something so lighthearted.
He knew what he would be dealing with before he got on with the mission.
He knew that someone was plotting against their palace lord. All those hellspawns unleashed in the hundreds of thousands were meant to take out the Yunxuan Villa.
The Yunxuan Villa was the backing of the Heavenly Palace, and destroying the villa meant taking out the Heavenly Palace’s foundations as well. As such, everyone from the Heavenly Palace was very on edge at the moment.
Lu Xuan was no doubt like a god in their eyes, and they did not take kindly to anyone who was trying to mess with their god.
Those people then learned of the schemers’ evil intentions, that the latter was trying to turn the entire Fu City, even the Min Province or even the entire southern side of Huaxia into a purgatory.
All that was done just so that the Regions of America and Europe were able to catch up with a severely crippled Huaxia.
If it had not been for Lu Xuan appearing in the nick of time and stopping the invaders with the forces of the Myriad Demon Valley, the consequences would have been unthinkable.
That Asian man’s fury was boiling inside at that thought.
That Caucasian man that he saw right in front of him, was one of the culprits after all.
Adam Smith eyed the squad from the Heavenly Palace before him that showed up all of the sudden, with eyes that glittered with an unmistakable cold glint. Despite knowing that such a day would come after the battle that took place the night before happened, he nonetheless never expected retribution to come knocking that quickly.
“You people are really thinking too highly of yourselves, if you think that you’re just going to take me in like that!”

A low-pitched, bassy grumble was heard from Adam Smith, as if he was roaring like a beast.
A shocking transformation took place in an instant as his eyes turned yellowish and fangs shot out of the corner of his mouth. His hands became claw-like and a pair of large webbed wings shot out of his back.
“Vampires eh? Pfft!”
That Asian man continued wearing that smirk on his face. He was able to sense that terrifying aura emanating from Smith after the latter took his vampire form. That sight would have almost frightened a common folk to death with just a single look.
However, that Asian man was totally unfazed.
“Get on with it!”
That Asian man barked his order right away and the members of his squad behind him fired away.
Smith never thought of anything about the guns brandished in front of his eyes. His powers at Divine Treasure Realm at the moment meant that he could even survive taking a direct hit from shells, which also meant that small arms fire was nothing to be afraid of.
However, he quickly discovered that he was wrong.
The bullets fired from those guns pierced right through the flesh that served as armor on top of his skin without fail, penetrating right through his innards right away.
“Runic bullets!”
He realized right away the kind of ammunition that was being used.
The bullets fired were indeed none other than the legendary runic ammunition that was specifically developed to take on cultivators and otherworldly lifeforms like him.
He felt his body burning right away and his insides feeling terrible. He was quickly forced back to his human form as he shrieked in pain.
“Well, not quite an enjoyable experience, isn’t it? These are runic silver bullets developed specifically to take out vampires like you after all.”
That middle-aged Asian chuckled coldly and spit that toothpick he had dangling from his mouth before.
He knew that vampires possessed extremely formidable regenerative powers that far exceeded even humans of similar levels. However, it was due specifically to said regenerative powers that the vampire before him did not die right away, being subjected to constant torture from the silver runic bullets lodged inside the vampire’s body.
That extremely formidable vampire was unable to even flinch due to the workings of the silver content of the bullets, lying limply on the ground as he continued to wail in a horrifying manner.
“Tie this thing up with the strongest runic alloy chains there are. I don’t wanna see this thing breaking free and fleeing along the way.”
That middle-aged Asian man said with a cold smirk.
The team from the Heavenly Palace behind him took out the chains and tied Smith up right away. They looked very familiar with the procedure.
It was apparent that it was not the first time they took on creatures like Smith. They were very familiar with means specifically meant for taking out specific creatures, as well as how to proceed with capture afterwards. They looked as if there was no way they could not have been better at their jobs.
Smith continued to wail and yet, that middle-aged Asian man looked unfazed all the same. The way he saw it, those creatures deserved nothing short of swift executions.
As the captain of the special operations unit, he knew too much about things that many remained oblivious of.
There were at least millions throughout the world disappeared mysteriously every year, and a good number of those people were bought up by the vampires as food.
He saw that while those creatures were all members of the upper class, they were in truth nothing more than trash that went out to do anything and everything that was evil.
The political circles of the Region of America had long been infiltrated by the likes of such creatures, and he saw the politicians of the region to be just trash just like those otherworldly creatures.
“Take him back for interrogation. We need to mop up the remainders of their circle behind the scenes, eradicating them and wiping them out from the Human Alliance.”
That middle-aged Asian man said with a distinct brutal tone.
