Earth, Region of Huaxia, Min Province, Wuyi Mountain.
Liu Wanrong and Lu Xuan both appeared on a dilapidated cliff.
Lu Xuan narrowed his gaze, committing the surrounding landscape of that cliff to memory as he gazed upon them.
Mere moments after scanning the area, a crude prototype of a formation appeared in his mind.
To put it precisely, that place had once been a formation on its own that linked to an extraterrestrial world. However, that formation had been in disrepair for many years.
It was obvious that it had not been used by anyone in so long.
“I came to Earth from the Holy Sun Continent through this very transportation formation all those years ago. That was when I met your father. That was when he saved me.” As Liu Wanrong spoke, the look in her eyes showed that she was reminiscing about what had happened all those years ago.
Decades passed in the blink of an eye.
At that moment, the expression she wore on her face looked virtually no different than how they looked back then. Even then, she had grown to become a mother over the years.
“Back then, I stumbled upon a small island as I run away from an arranged marriage. I barged into a transportation portal by accident and got sent here right away. As such, you should find yourself on an island when you cross over to the other side of the formation.”
Liu Wanrong paused. With a serious expression on her face, she then continued, “Be careful when you get over there. Your safety takes precedence over whether you get to see your grandpa over there, after all.”
Based on her expression, it was obvious that she was more concerned for Lu Xuan’s safety than whether or not he would be able to meet his maternal grandparents there.
Lu Xuan nodded and said, “Relax, mom. I know what to do.”
Liu Wanrong added, “I’ll get people to secure this place once you leave. I won’t let anyone come near this place until you return.”
“Sure.”
Lu Xuan nodded and began to work on repairing that formation. The formation was very complex, consisting of many spatial rules in its composition. Just about nobody else currently living on Earth could fix it at all.
Only someone like Lu Xuan, who had in-depth knowledge of spatial rules and formations, could even begin to repair such a formation.
The repairs alone would’ve consumed massive amounts of resources, including spirit stones and all kinds of precious materials required for patching up formations.
However, such requirements were hardly any concern at all for the Lu family, who practically ruled over both Earth and the Blessed Enclave. One by one, various resources were delivered to that place within just a day.
No one knew what those materials would be used for other than Lu Xuan and Liu Wanrong.
It took him three days to finally finish repairing the formation.
Once Liu Wanrong performed a seal, the formation burst into dazzling lights, signaling its activation.
She then watched her son walk into the formation and disappear from her sight.
She then took out her phone and dialed a number.
“Starting today, place Wuyi Mountain under military lockdown. No one shall go in or out of this place.”
It did not take long for an elite military force to enter the area and barricade the whole place, setting up a military base in the process.
With the exception of a select few, virtually nobody else knew what the military base was there for. Not even the higher-ups in the Earth Federation government knew anything about it.
Vroom.
Lu Xuan felt his eyes dazzled and heard a ringing sound in his ears. When he opened his eyes again, he was surprised to find that he was surrounded by neverending darkness.
He also found himself in boundless liquids all around him.
“I must be somewhere in the deep sea then.”

He surprisingly found himself in a very deep part of the ocean. The water pressure around him was staggering. Any average person in such a place would’ve been reduced to a blob of crushed flesh and blood within the blink of an eye.
Even cultivators of lower levels would have suffered the same fate.
He then cast a spell immediately: the Water Dispelling Chant.
An air bubble instantly formed all around him in an instant.
That spell had very practical uses.
Even though he could still move around freely even without the use of Water Dispelling Chant, a cultivator as powerful as Lu Xuan would still be affected by such staggering pressure in the deep sea.
The seawater around him would’ve reduced both his speed and power.
That was why the ancient wise ones created all kinds of Water Dispelling Chants. Even items like Water Stilling Orbs and Water Parting Orbs were developed for that specific reason.
He then focused his Spiritual Aether on his eyes just so he could make clear what was around him. He was able to confirm that he truly was in a deep part under the sea. He looked around him and saw some wrecked buildings. While there were not many of them, he was still able to see them as man-made constructs.
It was just like his mother told him before: the place had been an island.
However, the island sank to the bottom of the ocean for some reason. It was hard to determine exactly when it sank.
That was why he was sent into the water instead.
He was unable to dwell on it for long as he suddenly sensed danger nearby, which caused the hairs all over his body to stand.
That was a sign of something extremely dangerous approaching him.
Given his level of powers, it had been so long since he last experienced something like that.
A pair of massive lantern-like eyes instantly appeared nearby.
He then saw a body the size of a hill shortly afterward, shooting itself right before him like an arrow being released from a bow.
It was moving at an unbelievably fast rate.
That hill-like being was moving at such unbelievable speeds that it appeared before him within the blink of an eye.
It was only then that he finally saw what that thing was.
It was some unknown sea monster with a streamlined body, covered in pitch-black scales. The monster was tens of meters tall and hundreds of meters long.
That made it seem like some kind of enormous sea snake.
Its crimson eyes looked like those of demons from the depths of Hell.
That massive sea snake emanated an extremely old presence.
Lu Xuan instantly thought that the snake might’ve been some kind of far ancient species, a living fossil of a monster from far ancient times.
Furthermore, that ancient sea snake’s powers were extremely frightening, being at least at the ninth tier of the Divine Treasure Realm.
If that snake truly was from some far ancient species, it might’ve still been very young.
“Run!”
That was all that he could think of at the moment. An endless mass of lightning emanated from his back almost at the same time, materializing into a pair of massive wings of lightning, before he darted away at the speed of light.
Boom!
That massive snake opened its mouth far and wide at the very instant Lu Xuan left, chomping down on that spot where he used to be. The bite crushed a large mass of water through sheer brute force, kicking up terrifying currents in the process.
After missing its last attack, that massive snake monster darted forward like an arrow and straightened its body into the shape of a spear, chasing after Lu Xuan right away.
