“Mark, can you just let me go already?” I grounded through gritted teeth as I tried to knead the arms that had secured themselves around my waist apart. My back was perched against Mark’s torso as we still sat on the small sofa couch in his office. Mark had buried his face in the crook of my neck, nuzzling his nose against it to produce small continues shivers down my body whenever I felt his breath hitting my skin.
Mark hummed, indulging himself in my scent as he slowly turned deaf to my words. I huffed in defeat as his muscular arms refused to relent their hold on me. I went slack in his arms. My eyes went to gaze at the clock that hung above the door, informing me that I have been in Mark’s office for way too long.
I groaned inwardly. I still have a lot of work to do. I can’t waste my time away here. My eyes then shifted to the stack of papers that were on Mark’s desk. “Don’t you have work to finish, Mark?” My eyes glazed over at the man who had holed himself away and had refused to come out.
“I have that done in a matter of few minutes. I only have to check the reports and accept or deny them. Even a drooling toddler can do that work.”
“Don’t you have any meetings?” I wondered, as I rarely saw him coming out of his office.
Still not looking at me, he responded with a groan freighted with annoyance, “I do, but I’m rethinking whether I should proceed with it or just cancel it. Those dimwits only have a talent for enraging me with their idiotic ideas.” He lets out a shuddering breath as if to hold himself back from spilling profanities inside the room and then inhales deeply in my neck. “I have always thought this from the first moment that I had met you, but you smell so scrumptious. It calms me down. Do you wear some kind of perfume?” He queried.
Red clouded my face and I wished so badly that he would just stop sniffing me like that. His nose that went up and down the column of my neck felt ticklish, inducing a soft sigh from my lips as his very touch left a brandishing heat on my skin.
“N-No, I don’t wear perfumes. I do wear deodorants maybe that’s what you’re smelling?" I reasoned.
“No, it’s not that.” He shook his head before taking another whiff. “There’s this scent wafting off your skin.”
To his words, the skin between my brows wrinkled, and I brought my arm up to smell it, but I couldn’t smell anything at all. “What do I smell like?” My voice took a different tone as curiosity took over the steer.
“You smell like strawberry with a hint of chocolate in it.” Mark explained.
“I smell nothing like that.” I scrunched up my nose skeptically before taking another whiff of my arm. I should be able to smell something like that, but my nose wasn’t picking up on anything. “You’re the first one who had ever told me that.”
Mark hummed delighted, his arms tightening their hold on me as he inhaled my scent again. “Well, whatever it is, it is damn soothing. I just want to stay like this for the rest of the day.” He mumbled languidly.
“When does your meeting start?” I asked when I felt how his breathing got even, letting me know that his body was about to hit the snooze button.
With a listless yawn he answered, “In five minutes.” His eyelids then slowly drooped.
There was a long stretch of silence before my eyes turned wide. “In five minutes!?” I exclaimed. I started to struggle in his hold, trying to use my hand to push his head off my shoulder, but whenever I did that, he would just bring his head back to nestle on it. “This is not the time to take a nap, Mark!”
With his eyes still shut, Mark grumbled against my attempt to extricate myself before standing up, still holding me in arms to have my legs dangle above the ground.
Huh? What’s happening? I asked myself, alarmed, not understanding what Mark was planning on doing until he reached for the remote that was resting on the arm of the couch. He pressed a button on the remote that soon resulted in me being in awe as I watched how to sofa dismantled and assembled itself into a bed that was meant for two people to sleep on.
With me still in his arms Mark plopped himself on the bed. My back was still planted against his chest whilst his face was in the crook of my neck. “Yes, it is the time to take a nap. I hired those sleezy bastards so that the company could operate without me, thus I am sure that they can hold the meeting without me.” He voiced before shutting his eyes close again.
After a long stretch of silence I could hear slow even breaths from behind me, tickling my skin and waking me up from the daze-like-spell that Mark had put me under by casually turning the sofa in to a bed.
Is he seriously sleeping right now? I thought in disbelieve. “Mark.” I called out to him to receive no response. I tried to slap and pinch his arms, but I wasn’t even able to induce a stir out of his body.
I groaned frustrated, and wondered if I should just sleep and wait until he wakes up, but the thought of the work pile still waiting for me to clear them up I couldn’t. But what else can I do when Mark refuses to wake up? I thought despondently. Watching how the minute hand in the clock kept on moving the more I waited the frantic feeling to get away only increased and before my brain got to register what was happening, I blurted out, “I’ll reward you if you do your work.”
I somehow turned around in his embrace when I said that and not a second later jolted in shock as Mark's eyelids flew open, revealing the icy-blue eyes that were now fixed on me as bewilderment and excitement were dancing in them.
I don’t know if it was because of the inclining sun that was basking us in warm light, but Mark’s eyes were incandescent, turning them hypnotic and I could only stare at them with bated breath.
“What did you just say?” It was not like he had awoken from a deep slumber, but his voice somehow came out dangerously low sending shivers dancing down my spine.
Even I, myself, questioned what had possessed me to sound those words out. My eyes flitted for a second to his lips that were dangerously close to me before looking back into those navy eyes. Mark caught that little movement and I watched how his eyes almost turned inky as thirst was brandishing behind them.
“What type of reward are we talking about, kitten?” He hummed mischievously, bringing his hand up to pinch my chin, and I felt my heart slam against my ribcage at the sight of his sensual smile breaking through.
His voice that beckoned me to sin, his touch that can scale and sooth me at the same time and his pine wood scent that bewitched me like a witch luring kids into her house made me want to yield and spend the rest of the day with him on this sofa.

I started to inch closer to him and Mark’s lips pulled up into a grin at the sight of it. He lowered his hand down, allowing me to have better excess. He closed his eyes at the touch of my hands cupping his cheeks, expecting a kiss on the lips. But I broke that expectation by brushing my lips barely against the corner of his lips. There was a momentary stillness in his body movement before he slowly opened his eyes again. “What are you doing, kitten?” Came the question filled with confusion and frustration, as he wanted more, but wasn’t getting it.
Using this chance, I broke myself free and leaped out of the sofa bed- pushing my feet to the door in a haste. I managed to open the door ajar when a pinched booming voice sounded from behind me. “Bring your peachy butt back to bed this instant.” He commanded, and I could hear the strain in his voice as lust took reign over his body.
I felt thrilled that I caught Mark off guard and smiled like a Cheshire cat, purring. “But it won’t be a reward if I give it to you now before you have finished your work. Who knows, maybe the reward is something bigger than a kiss.” I bite my bottom seductively, but immediately let it go when I saw the unquenchable hunger in Mark’s eyes as he slowly rose from the sofa bed. Stalking towards me like a predator ready for the hunt.
Not planning to wait and see what would happen if I were to be caught by Mark ran away as fast as I could.
After a while of me running and getting stared at by colleagues stopped somewhere at the end of the hallway that would lead to my office. As I bend over to catch my breath, my heart hammered loudly against my chest, turning ear deafening as I inhaled and exhaled- trying to replenish my lungs with oxygen. I cautiously threw a look over my shoulder, making sure that Mark wasn’t going after me.
BUZZZ
The feeling of my phone vibrating made me straighten my back swiftly like a pencil as it gave me a fright. Pulling out my phone, I could see that I was being called by Mark.
Jitters went trough my body. Not because of fear, but because of something inexplicable that rushed through my body and increases the blood flow. Hesitantly, I picked up the phone before bringing it to my ear.
“H-Hello?” I answered with a haggard breath.
I could hear a dark chuckle from the other line. “You know I like myself a good chase, honey, but I certainly hope that your reward is worth it. Otherwise, some delicious punishment will wait for you and I can’t wait to execute them.”
A ripple of excitement at his dark promising words shot through my body and I had to take in a sharp breath, feeling the inside of my body being plagued with an itch and a burning passion. Before, hearing a threat like that from him brought a certain fear in me, but now I had to close my legs intentionally to prevent the pool between them from sullying my panties.
“I will see you after work.” Mark said with a calm darkness, before hanging up on me. I had to force myself to take deep breaths to bring back my rationality as my mind was being taken over with thoughts about Mark and how his touch awakened a fire in me I never knew had.
God, what was wrong with me? Just hearing his ravenous voice made me weak in the knees. I don’t even want to know what would happen if he gets me in his grasps. I have to make sure that the reward is worth it; I thought while trying to shut up the provocative whispers of the devils on my shoulders, telling me to take his punishment.
“Maybe I should ask Cher for advice.” I mumbled before entering the office to proceed with the work that I had left behind.
…
When Mark said that he would see me after work, he really meant after work as we didn’t see nor spoke to each other after that. The only time that I saw him was when I walked past one of the meeting rooms that Mark and some executive members were using. The large glass window surrounding the room allowed my eyes to peek through and see how Mark was standing in front of the large screen that displayed his presentation.
His serious expression as he talked about some topic executed dominance and authority that made my heart thrum loudly against my chest as he looked stupendous right then. Seriously, why did he have to be a killer? I whined inwardly, cursing the unfair world.
For a short moment, our eyes met, and he showed me a devilish grin that brought a blush forth on my face before focusing back on his work and I knew he didn’t forget about his reward and that he was seriously working for it.
At the end of the day Mark messaged me that I should already go and wait outside for him as he was still stuck in a meeting, but he would be there as soon as it is done. Cher, who was also waiting for Brandon to show up, waited together with me outside the building.
“Brandon will be here in ten minutes.” Cher said as she just got off the phone with him. I gave her a slight nod before fumbling awkwardly around with my fingers. My eyes would dart to look at her every few seconds before casting themselves back on the ground.
Cher, who took notice of my fidgety form, spoke with brows raised to her hairline. “What’s wrong?”
My mind was in an endless turmoil whether or not I should ask her, but her eyes that urged me to speak up made me slightly part my lips as I dubiously spoke in a low quiet voice, not wanting anyone else to perceive this, “W-When you reward Brandon, w-what do you usually do?”
Cher then furrowed her brows in confusion, not understanding why I was a nervous mess when the question sounded normal. “Depends. Most of the time I just by him food.”
I shook my head at her as she misunderstood my question, before ushering in an even quieter voice that was akin to a mouse’s, “N-No I m-mean in the b-bedroom.”
There was a long stretch of awkward silence between us, and I felt like I was about to collapse from the heat that was consuming me. I felt so mortified to ask my friend for advice about how to please a man. I prayed that the earth beneath my feet would just burst open and swallow me whole already.
Cher, who had turned into a stone for a second, came back again, but she came back even more vivaciously as she squealed like a dolphin. She then threw her arm around my shoulder, pulling me against her as she puffed out her chest and spoke in a haughty tone, “Don’t worry, my innocent April. Big sis Cher will tell you all the dirty tricks.” Bringing her mouth close to my ear, she whispers all the instructions in to it and the shade of red that was already present on my face only fiercely intensified the deeper she went in to the subject.
Suddenly, Mark’s punishment sounded really appealing.
