Chapter 7: Ch.3: Eihenstein (1)

Three hundred years ago—

When Arbane was still a small country reigned by a monarchy. At that time the reign of Arbane was King Alexio VIII, who was to be written in history because he was the one who made the small country Arbane into the Arbane kingdom it is today.

At that time, he had the intention of expanding Arbane's territory. This is because Arbane is a small country in the middle of nowhere near the sea at all, making it difficult to trade with other countries. In addition, the landscape is an arid land. The livelihood of people in the country is always facing food shortages.

As a result, Arbane country must import millions of tons of consumer goods from outside the country every year to solve the shortage problem. But in the bad, there are still some good things, Arbane has an important natural resource and is of great value. A large amount of gold and precious stones slumbered beneath Arbane's land. This makes Arbane country enough power to negotiate purchases of consumer goods for his population.

But even then, the value of the goods imported into the country every year is more expensive than usual. Owing to the partner countries seeing Arbane as being rich in gold and gems, they thought of using this method to pump out the resources in Arbane for their own by secretly raising prices and taxes on their products. Causing Arbane to pay for that product many times more than other places. The king who reigned Arbane at that time was reluctant to pay high prices because the area in Arbane is not capable of cultivation or farming.

In those days, there was no central currency for trading. Therefore, if any country or anyone wants to trade, they must find something of equal value to trade. The determination of the value will be an agreement between both parties. The advantage is that partners are free to set their prices, but the disadvantage is that it can be unfair to trade if either side has more bargaining power.

After King Alexis VIII inherited the throne from his father. He had the idea of taking those surrounding countries into his own to solve these problems. He is very specialized and outstanding in combat and warfare and has excellent negotiation skills. That was the beginning of Arbane's colonization which was later called the event "Arbane's Expansion War".

His confidence in expanding the colony was not only because of his abilities but also because of his trusty knights who were like his left hand and right hand. The names of both are Kacarus Eihenstein and Neo Maeyer.

King Alexis assigned Kacarus to lead his army to war against the West and Neo to go to the East. On the other hand, he divided the royal knight into two parts. The first part went with him to go to war on the North. The rest were to protect Arbane and keep an eye on the Southside.

The southside of Arbane is alongside the desert area. Therefore, it is impossible that any enemy came from there. However, he thought that some countries might use this blind spot to attack Arbane. Therefore, the Royal Knights Army came to protect there instead.

After Arbane started the war for territorial expansion. The surrounding nations were terrified, some nations resisted so a fight ensued. However, the more capable Arbane army was able to defeat those countries. Causing the rest of the country to fear the might of the Arbane army must agree to sign to be the Arbane colony.

Finally, Arbane was able to expand its territory to cover almost the entire continent. Eventually becoming a superpower and calling himself and the nations under his own rule "the United Kingdom Arbane" which has solved the problem of importing consumer goods with fair prices. They can also bring in foreign technology to develop agriculture in Arbane making drought and food shortages can be completely solved.

After the end of the war, King Alexis VIII also appointed the 'Baronet' dignity, the highest dignity of knights to Kacarus Eihenstein and Neo Maeyer.

Since then, the Eihenstein and the Mayer families have been known as the families of "The War Conquering Heroes" and have inherited to this day.
