From that point on, with a concentration I never had before, I sliced the basil finely
sa-kusa-kusa-kusa-kusasakusa (eunie: kusa means grass/weeds, remember the blonde dude? yeah him. this part can also mean as smelly or like blonde dude's annoying laugh, like Koro-sensei's Nyurufufufu *Nyuru=slimy. So I'm leaving it as is.)
"The country bumpkin with some weeds will become smelly! kusaku saku saku! wahahaha"
... ...The level of the auditory illusion that I have is really low.
I'm scared of myself too, but this isn't my actual level. It's just that the source of the illusion is the one at fault so it couldn't be helped.
Amidst the illusion, as the basil has been cut just the way I wanted, I placed it on the same plate as the tomatoes.
And then I made another point exchange and held it with hand.
"With Tomato and Basil, it's THIS...! Olive Oil!"
It's an Italian triplet (3 brothers)
The deep emerald green bottle seems to be shining.
Even at the supermarket, there are a variety of olive oil and prices.
Though I'm the type to buy the pricey one, it's the one on a small bottle and has a darker shade.
Since olive oil is used most of the time as dressing for salads, and it's easy for the flavour to lessen over time so, it's better to use it up sooner. The same goes for Salad oil but since the flavour doesn't deteriorate much compared to the former I always get a bigger size and if you use it for deep-frying, it is instantly used up.
As I opened the deep emerald green bottle, I remember the oil I always use back then and then I feel all sorts of emotions billowing in my heart.
"... ...I want to eat some deep-fried dish"
That crispy crunch from the batter and the meat juice that comes out. Marinade the leg meat with soy sauce and sake (alcohol/wine/beer), garlic, ginger and then deep-fry the meat.
Or when you deep fry twice the chicken wing and add some soy sauce and sweet sauce, you just can't help but pair it up with a chilled beer. Chicken breast are also good if you deep-fry it like Chicken Cutlet, and with the knife that Hurst-san made, I can also mince it or slice it to make a chicken nugget.
"Chicken... ...I want to eat chicken... ..."
Even though right now it's snack time, my mouth is craving for chicken.
Next time I'll make it.
Definitely!
But now...
"But before that..are these tomatoes."
Now is not the time for chicken.
I put some olive oil on the container where the tomato and basil are and then I added some salt to harmonize the flavour.
"Tomato and Olive Oil salad!"
It's easy! And it also looks pretty.
The bright red tomato and the green basil stimulates your appetite.
Since I just made it, the flavour has yet sunk in. Though after an hour, the little amount of salt and olive oil I used to marinate the tomato salad, will bring the sweetness of the tomato.
"All right, now I'll be doing a little experiment"
As I grabbed the olive oil tomato salad, I stood in front of it.
It was a white square box
"I wonder just how much can this refrigerator do... ..."
I gulped.
"For the meantime, as long as I place it there, it's not gonna rot."
That's right. The thing is all the things I put inside it won't let it rot. Who would have thought I have such a gem.
I exchanged some points for ingredients and well I did try to remember their labelings and stuff but that has a limit to it.
In the ingredients I got through point exchange has no expiration date in it, I have to put some label or take notes for it. Or so I thought because all the things I placed inside the refrigerator didn't have any signs of spoiling.
So after realizing that, I tried to make an experiment by exchanging some points for some bean sprouts. The stem part of the bean sprouts gets spoiled easily and in just 2-3 days, you'll see signs of spoiling already.
That's why even though I feel extremely apologetic to the bean sprouts but it's easier to recognize if it had gone bad already. So I left them inside the refrigerator.
I opened the refrigerator and gently, took out the bean sprouts and it still has the same white stem and yellow ends.
"Even though it has been 3 weeks... ..."
It's impossible. Normally this should not have happened.
It's been three weeks since I bought it, you'll think huh it's some sort of mysterious liquid or something and be like 'huh, what's this muddy thing? Could I have mistakenly got something different?" Like that.
"This one over here hasn't spoiled either."
And the other one I used for my experiment, is this plate of oatmeal porridge.
When I had this for breakfast before, even though its kinda rude, I brought it here and kept it.
Like maybe it's not the refrigerator but it's because I got it through a point exchange that's why it's not spoiling.
This time it's a dish done by the people from here, using the ingredients that came from this world but it hasn't spoiled yet.
The smell is also the same, it's a bit scary but I've been eating this every day, for the past three weeks, so I remember the flavour. It's still the same old' oatmeal porridge.
Which means――
"The refrigerator is a time machine!"
This refrigerator here has control over time. There's no doubt. (Eunie: lol. when a refrigerator has Deus ex Machina skill like thing)
That's why I was able to confirm that it will not rot, now is the time to go to the next step.
This kitchen is quite too accommodating to the things I want, so I thought...maybe...just maybe.
"The refrigerator won't just stop the time but can also fast forward it!"
For example, a jelly.
It takes quite some time for it to harden so maybe this refrigerator can immediately solidify the jelly or so I thought.
Next, a simple stew.
After having it go through the fire, you'll have to cool it down to deepen the flavour.
That's why while it is still in a state where the flavour hasn't soaked through, with this refrigerator it could easily let it absorbed the flavour.
"If that's the case then it would be a breeze for the olive oil tomato salad... ..."
Since the flavour has yet to permeates in, to make it more delicious, it will still take one hour. But with this refrigerator, that time will be a lot shorter... ...!
It's still on theoretical stages but today I'll know for sure!
"Become delicious!"
I just cast some sort of spell sounding words, and then I slowly placed it inside the refrigerator.
And then I closed the door, and opened it once again――
"It did it... ...!"
It actually did happen.
It was just some fresh tomatoes with some oil but now you can see that the tomatoes have been soaked thoroughly by the olive oil and even the colour of the basil has become sharper.
"It should have taken an hour but...in a matter of seconds... ...!"
Are you god?
This refrigerator doesn't just control the state of the things I put inside it. It just brings out or maintains it's the best state.
It's my skill and it responds exactly to what I want.
"I love it... I love this kitchen so much... ..."
(Eunie: Polar Bear-san!! Where are you? At this rate you'll lose over a kitchen)
In front of the refrigerator, I stared at it as if I'm actually looking in a mirror and then I pat it gently. While my left-hand pats the handle.
