Ch46 - Feng Ci lowered his head and kissed Pei QianYue…

LingWu mountain in the afternoon was warm and sunny. Feng Ci swiftly walked through the mountains, creating a breeze with his speedy pace. The hems of his plain clothes brushed over the overgrown vegetation, not even collecting any leaves or debris.

He needed to be quick.

Pei QianYue wasn’t on LingWu Mountain right now. He must stop Pei QianYue from returning and wake him up.

The pain that Pei QianYue had experienced in the past… Feng Ci can’t allow him to suffer it once again inside this illusion.

He can’t let Pei QianYue see his physical body again.

A slight breeze swept past Feng Ci’s ears. He halted in his steps and looked up. The recently sunny and clear skies suddenly became cloudy. The sun quickly flew past the horizon, setting in the west and projecting red clouds across the skies.

However, these red clouds were also transient. The light on the horizons swiftly dimmed at a speed visible to the naked eye. The moon rose into the skies.

It was nighttime.

Feng Ci: “……”

With great difficulty, he swallowed the profanities resting on the tip of his tongue.

Fast-forwarding without any warning at all… Was this illusion deliberately playing games with him?!

Feng Ci sighed silently and turned to walk towards the direction of the cavern.

In the deep parts of the cavern, Pei QianYue has already returned. The young man was still sitting upright on the stone bed. Pei QianYue was standing in front of him. Neither of them were speaking at this time.

After a while, the young man opened his mouth softly: “Are you unwilling?”

Pei QianYue looked at him with lowered eyes. The hands hanging by his side were clenched into fists, slightly trembling somewhat.

He squeezed his eyes shut, as if he were using this motion to hold back a certain emotion: “You said…… the Heavenly Principles summoned you back. That you have a very important mission to accomplish, but you cannot integrate properly with your physical body. That you still need one more thing.”

“I’m not unwilling. This life of mine was rescued by you. If you want it, I can give you anything you want.” He opened his eyes. Those originally bright and shining eyes, however, carried a deep pain inside them right now: “But Master, did you really return?”

Why was the other completely different from his memories?

Why did he become so…… strange?

The young man looked up and met Pei QianYue’s gaze. He didn’t seem to understand the meaning of Pei QianYue’s words.

As such, he can only mechanically repeat the previous question: “Are you unwilling?”

Pei QianYue took a deep breath and did his best to calm down: “I went to visit LangFeng City just now. The LangFeng City Master already promised me to do his best to find a way for Master. We only need to wait a bit longer—”

“There’s no other way.” The young man looked up and gazed at him with those serene eyes: “Didn’t you say you’d do anything for me?”

He asked this question extremely calmly, like he was truly very perplexed.

An empty shell without Divine Consciousness didn’t understand how to beat around the bush. It can only speak its thoughts out loud straightforwardly and frankly.

Pei QianYue, however, was utterly shocked. His complexion instantly turned pale white.

He moved his lips slightly, unable to say anything for quite a while. The young man tilted his head, looked at him, and realized something: “You have something you desire.”

The young man placed his hand on Pei QianYue’s shoulder and said gently: “I know, you like me.”

The candlelight next to the stone bed flickered faintly, shining on the young man’s face and making his features seem even more flawless. He stared at Pei QianYue in concentration as he spoke in a somewhat bewitching tone: “Is what you want…… me?”

Pei QianYue stiffened completely.

He was unable to gather any strength to push him away, and also unable to gather any strength to avoid the other’s increasingly approaching body.

A puppet naturally couldn’t understand human emotions.

Like an instrument with detailed instructions, its only purpose was to accomplish its preset goal, regardless of the costs.

The young man leaned closer and closer. Pei QianYue finally grabbed his wrist and said with difficulty: “Ma, Master. Don’t do this……”

“Shh.” The young man’s eyes were warm and serene. They even carried a slight hint of a smile: “This is what you desire, no?”

Pei QianYue gazed into those eyes, his originally resolute expression actually turned somewhat hesitant, as if entranced: “What I desire……”

“That’s right, what you desire.” The young man stared at him and said warmly: “Be good, Xiao Hei. Close your eyes. I’ll give you what you desire.”

Pei QianYue gently closed his eyes.

The young man leaned in slightly, as if offering a gentle and heartfelt kiss.

At the same time, he raised the hand he placed on Pei QianYue’s shoulder. The tip of his fingers began to glow a faint gold.

Puu—

Pei QianYue abruptly opened his eyes.

A slender gold sword penetrated the young man’s heart from the back. Standing behind him, Feng Ci withdrew the sword expressionlessly.

Fresh blood sprayed outward, splashing on the side of Pei QianYue’s face.

The young man has not yet received the sacrifice from a living being. Therefore his body has not cultivated immortality yet. Scorching hot blood gushed out of his heart. He opened his mouth to speak, but couldn’t get anything out before his body collapsed powerlessly.

Feng Ci flicked his long sword. Blood rolled down the blade of his sword: “Sorry, but I couldn’t watch anymore.”

With the Heavenly Principles’ instructions, Feng Ci knew that his physical body definitely would have used all sorts of plans to trick away Pei QianYue’s eyes, but he had never imagined that it was this kind of deception.

If he waited any longer, this idiot would have had his eyes stolen away the next second.

Really fucking ridiculous.

Feng Ci was so mad his hands shook. He tried to restrain himself, but still couldn’t hold back from stepping forward in two to three steps to grab Pei QianYue by the collar: “Are you an idiot? Can’t you see that he’s completely different from me? You’d believe everything he said to be true?”

Pei QianYue looked at Feng Ci stunned and frowned: “……Master?”

Those clear bright eyes were filled with confusion and bewilderment. Suddenly meeting his gaze without any warning, Feng Ci felt his heartbeat speed up abruptly.

He even forgot what he was saying.

Swallowing, Feng Ci couldn’t even feel angry anymore and gave a gloomy sound of acknowledgement before letting go.

He still held his sword in his right hand. The fresh blood dripped down the blade of the sword, forming a tiny puddle on the ground. His physical body had fallen to the side, long hair spread out on the ground, already gradually becoming lifeless.

Pei QianYue looked as if he were waking up slowly. His gaze shifted from Feng Ci’s face to the sword to finally rest on the body of the fallen young man by the stone bed.

His breathing suddenly turned chaotic: “Who are you?””

Feng Ci silently said to himself, not good.

Just now he had been too impatient to stop all of this from happening, he didn’t even think of a proper plan to wake Pei QianYue up.

He should have never appeared at the same time as the body puppet.

Because people trapped within the illusion instinctively resisted intruders. Right now, Feng Ci looked exactly the same as the body puppet. With Pei QianYue’s current mental state, he’d instinctively favor the person created by the illusion.

So from Pei QianYue’s perspective, Feng Ci wasn’t saving him right now, but rather…… killing his master.

Without warning, a whirlwind began blowing inside the cavern. Feng Ci hastily took two steps back. The spot where he stood originally was blown into smithereens by a beam of sword energy.

A long sword formed in Pei QianYue’s palm. Illuminated by the light of the sword, his face looked beautiful and ice-cold.

“Just what…… exactly are you?”

There was a loud explosion, which startled countless birds.

Blocking Pei QianYue’s aggressive attacks with QianQiu. Feng Ci felt a bit angry: “I already told you. You’re in an illusion right now. I am the one who’s your real master. Why aren’t you listening properly?!”

“Oh, is that right?” With a sinister and cold gaze, Pei QianYue waved the sword in his hand and pushed Feng Ci several meters back.

Feng Ci took a few hasty steps before he finally managed to stabilize himself. When he looked up, he saw the cold ridicule that appeared in Pei QianYue’s eyes.

Its meaning was too obvious.

—Just this?

Feng Ci was so mad he wanted to hit someone.

Wasn’t it like this because it was Pei QianYue’s illusion? He was the pillar of this illusion, so all of his thoughts shaped the reality created by this illusion. For example, right now he was desperately trying to kill Feng Ci. As such, the illusion naturally bestowed him more power than he had in the past while simultaneously weakening Feng Ci’s strength.

What’s so impressive about winning against Feng Ci in this kind of circumstance?

If you’re so capable, then come have a fight with him outside of here!

Feng Ci only paused slightly, but Pei QianYue’s cold and ruthless sword aura struck once again.

Pei QianYue has yet to inherit Lone Shadow from LangFeng City. The sword that he held was nothing but an ordinary blade. However, with the enhancement from this illusion, the violent and turbulent sword aura was no weaker than Feng Ci’s.

Feng Ci hastily turned sideways to evade. The sword energy practically swept past right before his eyes. With a loud boom, it chopped a cedar tree right in half.

The light from the spirit energy practically illuminated the entire forest as if it were daytime.

The battle continued. Pei QianYue pressed in relentlessly. Forced to retreat step by step, Feng Ci continued to attempt to persuade him verbally: “Xiao Hei, calm down. I was really trying to help you just now!”

“You killed him……” Pei QianYue’s gaze was gloomy. The light of the sword in his hand suddenly flared: “You killed him!”

Feng Ci yelled: “But if I didn’t save you just now, he was going to take your eyes!”

Pei QianYue abruptly stopped moving.

Feng Ci didn’t neglect this opportune moment.

He suddenly grabbed Pei QianYue’s wrist and gave a forceful twist. Pei QianYue released his grip on his sword. The next second, the QianQiu sword was pressed against Pei QianYue’s neck.

“Don’t move.” This battle had even made Feng Ci lose his breath slightly. One hand grasping Pei QianYue’s wrist and twisting his arm behind his back, Feng Ci pressed his sword against Pei QianYue’s neck with his other hand. He raised Pei QianYue’s chin slightly: “Can you listen to my explanation properly now?”

Pei QianYue didn’t move anymore.

Panting and gathering his breath, Feng Ci was just about to speak when he heard Pei QianYue say softly: “Just kill me.”

“……Ah?”

The moonlight penetrated through the shadows of the trees and illuminated the two people’s surroundings. Pei QianYue looked downwards, his slender long eyelashes leaving distinct shadows on his cheeks.

His voice was ice-cold with no discernable emotions: “Master is no longer here. Since I can’t kill you, then just kill me.”

Feng Ci’s expression turned heavy.

After a long while, he finally asked with a heavy voice: “If he dies, you don’t want to live either?”

A bleak faint smile appeared at on Pei QianYue’s lips: “If he’s not here, what’s the point of me living?”

“What do you mean?” Feng Ci’s voice was somewhat panicked: “Are you saying that you’ve only been living entirely for him alone? If he were to die, you’d also follow him?”

Pei QianYue didn’t even stop to ponder: “Why not.”

There was an overwhelming, loud buzz in Feng Ci’s head.

He shoved hard and the two people fell together onto the soft grass.

Feng Ci pressed Pei QianYue down from above and using the moonlight, he clearly noted the other’s slightly reddened eyes.

Pei QianYue’s eyes were truly very beautiful. His original gold eyes were clear and stunning. While in human form, these black pupils were extremely bright and shiny. At this moment, with a misty look clouding those eyes, Pei QianYue appeared to gain a sense of fragility.

One glance from these eyes, any amount of anger would dissipate.

Feng Ci stared at him for a while and ultimately said with a sigh: “You shouldn’t do that.”

He still looked like he wanted to say something, but in the end, he didn’t get anything out. He only raised his hand and wiped away the bloodstains on Pei QianYue’s face. little by little.

A drop of blood just happened to land on the corner of Pei QianYue’s lips.

Thumb brushing across the corner of the other’s lips, Feng Ci suddenly had an idea; a clever smile appeared in the depths of his eyes: “I know how to wake you up.”

Immediately afterwards, Feng Ci lowered his head and kissed Pei QianYue on the lips.
