Chapter 3: CHAPTER 1

“Welcome to the Time Mansion,” Jake heard Liam say. He was still blinking away the tears the bright light caused.

“What the hell! What just happened?” Jake heard a voice exclaim. It was definitely a woman, her voice soft and musical, even if she was speaking loudly. “How did we get here from the plane?”

Jake turned to look at her, his vision finally cleared. And he took a sharp breath. It was a woman alright, and a beautiful one at that. She was around his age and maybe a head shorter. Her short red hair falling on either side of her face only accentuated her heart-shaped face. She had dazzling almond-shaped emerald green eyes, that were flaring up in frustration ‘and fear’ Jake thought. 

She was wearing a navy blue track jacket that covered her ample chest. Passing his eyes over her flat stomach, Jake looked at her long legs covered in black track pants ending at sneakers. 

“Time Mansion, you say? That’s a unique name” Jake said, referring to Liam’s greeting.

“Yes, quite.” the older man replied.” And to answer your question Zoe, I used the tachyon particles to open a window through space and time to get you here.”

“Woah, wait. Tachyon particles? The window through space and time?” Jake exclaimed. He had heard these terms, mostly in sci-fi movies or books. 

Liam’s eyes twinkled. “Yes, and I can see that you’re eager for explanations. But, you’re both also tired and have had a harrowing incident. Rest for the night. We’ll talk more in the morning. The rooms assigned to are down the hall. Jack, your room is first to the left, and Zoe, you’re opposite him, to the right. I’ll see you both in the morning. Good night.”

“But- “ Zoe started. “Rest for now. We’ll discuss everything in the morning,” Liam cut in, his voice stern.
