I thumb through the hangers, taking a selection of tops and dresses with me to the bedroom mirror. None of them feel right until I see the pink button-up with yellow roses. A smile stretches on my lips before being followed by a feeling of relaxation as I put it on.
“I need a skirt,” I tell myself.
Rummaging through a mass of skirts, I settle on a white one with jonquils. Seeing myself in the mirror, I do a little skip as I pick up the blue heels. A quick spin follows as everything is together.
“Everything looks good!” I exclaim, feeling glee from the tips of my heels to my head.
I head out of my house and go to the car. Thoughts of Aur’elia creep in my head and I freeze for a moment. Shaking myself in the same instant, I slap my cheeks a couple times and take a few breaths. Combing my hair to bring myself down, my thumbs proceed to drum on the steering wheel.
“Maybe this date can go without anything happening,” I tell myself. My heart beats heavily for a moment before slowing down.
I drive over and pull up close. Aur’elia is just turning to see me and her smile is so kind.
“Hi.”
“Hey there, sweetie,” she says, once she’s in. I am treated to an amazing view of her suit as she leans in for a kiss. The kiss itself is warm and soft.
Pushing her hair back, she buckles and we head off.
“Did you have a plan for our date?” she asks.
“Mmm, dinner was the only thing I had in mind.”
“Perfect.”

We arrive and I open the door for her. Heading in, we get to a table quickly as the restaurant is less than half-full.
“Darling, there’s something on your head.”
“Huh? There is? I thought I washed before I left.”
“It’s nothing to worry over, but I’ll get it for you.”
“Um, sure, okay. Can you tell me what it is though?” I ask, my anxiety rising little by little.
“It’s just my hand,” she replies, petting me. My head falls more into her hand and my eyes close half-way.
The food arrives a few minutes after Aur’elia’s finished and we eat; her roast bird and my stew. I lean across to kiss her cheek.
“For the pets,” I say, smiling.
“You’re so cute,” she tells me.
I laugh. “You’re plenty cute as well.”
Finishing our meals, we split the bill and head out to leave.
“Ah, sweetie, there’s a nice motel around the corner. Do you mind if we stay there the night?”

“Sure. That’ll be pretty good. Let’s go.”
We get in the car and Aur’elia takes hold of my hand. Hers and mine squeeze gently. Above us the moon is vibrant and the stars sparkle.
“We’re here,” I say, turning to her.
Exiting, I kiss her cheek again before she heads to the desk to get the keys for the last available room.
“You’re sure enjoying my cheeks,” she laughed.
“They’re a great part of you, love” I reply.
Once she returns I hug her from the side and nuzzle her shoulder. Her purse falls as we enter the room and she kisses my head then my lips. My face flushes more with each kiss and the thought comes out my mouth without my realizing.
“Take me as yours, Aur’elia.”
“Oh so eager! Why, as you wish.”
Aur’elia pins me to the wall in the motel, a paw sliding up my arm with claws unfurling as they reach my wrist. She leans in and takes the barest of bites on my neck, the sensation of her fangs mingling with the hot breath she exhales as she finishes. My knees attempt to reassert themselves, only to fail as fangs drag again and again upon me.
“A beautiful fae, at my mercy” she whispers. My face is beet red and I start to lose focus of where I am and what’s happening.
“Please….” I gasp out.
A click of teeth and I hear her voice again. A mixture of velvet and iron; It sinks down to my soul and entwines around, nearly threatening to choke it out.
“A good girl always knows when to finish her sentences,” Aur’elia growled.
I whimper and words start to fail me. The way she calls me “good girl” always has that effect. My eyes turn down and to the left before slowly going up to look at her.
“Please…. Please let me go..”
Aur’elia’s eyes dart over me and she steps back, her paw releasing my wrist. The room quickly came back together and I hear my own breathes, at first deep and rough then moving to slow and steady.
“You’re not having a good time, are you, Leaf…?”
“I…. I don’t know..”
She pats a seat next to her on the bed, her tail wrapping around her stomach. I join her and immediately collapse my head on Aur’elia’s lap. Her paw strokes through my hair.
“I…. I’m not,” I begin. “And. I’m not sure when this stopped being a good time for me.”
As I say the words I scrunch up into myself more and more. She puts out a hand to stroke my back and I move away from her.
“Aur’elia. Please. Just. I don’t. I don’t want you to touch me anymore tonight, or ever again.”
“....goodbye, Leaf,” are Aur’elia’s last words as she grabs up her purse from the floor and heads out the door. I tug the sheet around me and listen to rain begin to drip in rows outside.
My eyes grew heavier while the last sounds I hear are the rain growing stronger and a faint rumble of thunder in the distance.
