The chains were really starting to hurt my skin even more so than the dirty sack clothes I was forced to wear in the holding cell where they kept me till today. My hair had grown too much for my liking and the soot around my body made me look like a wandering hobo.

The procession still felt too much cause even if by some miracle I was able to break free of the chains and defeat five highly trained and extremely dangerous guardsmen with no combat experience whatsoever. I doubt I would be able to take him down.

Vladimir Verez, chief warrior of the elite Valencia empire. He arose from the title of commoner canon fodder when he killed 500 men of the enemy troops singlehandedly, a living legend. He was also in some of my dreams of walking into through the palace but he had a slightly less pissed expression that he has now and was protecting me rather than protecting others from me.

The giant throne room's door made an erringly screeching sound as one of the guardsmen pushed the doors open. As the doors opened the first guardsman walked through followed by myself, the other guardsmen and Vladimir.

The throne room was easily bigger than several commoner's houses put together. Upon entering the throne room, a guardsman from behind kicked the back of my knee placing me on my knees.

I looked up and saw  an elevated platform where four thrones made from ivory and gold stood, the biggest one was obviously for the king, King Andreas IV although they were all empty, to the right was a slightly smaller throne made for Queen Nadia and then two smaller ones by his left meant for the crown prince, Valerio and crown princess of Valencia, Elena.

Just below that raised platform a roundtable made of fine carved stermy wood a beautifully lustre wood that’s only found in Valencia was in the middle of the throne room. Around the table were eight seats still carved from stermy wood which was already being occupied by the respective owners. The seven Lords of Valencia.

Lord Talon, head of the Vastures family sat at the north-east end of the round table. He had white flowing hair which he had tied up into a bun so as not to fall unto the black robes he was wearing. The Vastures are a very famous and respectable noble family in Valencia with close ties with the Borgaude family, the ruling family of Celestia, the holy kingdom. Their relations to the Borgaude family is what keeps many enemies away from Valencia.

Lord Vishmir, head of Alvarez family sat at the other end of the table from Lord Talon at the north-west axis of the round table. He had short wavy brown hair and a scar of three slashes across his left cheeks. He looked extremely buff in his yellow and blue army attire. The Alvarez family was one of the original founding noble families of  mainly responsible for producing most of the warrior in Valencia’s army including Vladimir Verez.

Lord Azure, head of the Claude family sat at the west axis. He wore an open white sailor shirt and black trousers, a lot less formal than the other Lords. I've heard rumours of him being referred to as the Lord of Lust cause no one can resist his charms, he was in charge of handling most of Valencia's negotiations. His facial features were indeed impressive but not something that I cared for.

Lord Arthur, head of the Audorne family sat at the south axis, with his throne directly in front of me. The Audorne family was also a founding family of Valencia. I couldn’t make out most of his features but what caught my interest was the black scabbard that rested beside his seat.

I was enthralled by the beauty of the scabbard wondering what beautiful blade it had hidden away when a loud cough snatched my attention away. It was Lord Caspian, head of the Haunder family, he sat at the south west axis of the round table. He wore a blue and yellow army attire like Lord Vishmir but without the sane build he just couldn’t pull it off.

Lady Moorde, head of the Gastov family sat at the south-east  axis, she wore a blue flowing gown and had most of her brown hair curled in a bun like Lord Talon.

and lastly Lord Baltor, head of the Fauntre family sat at the south east axis dressed in a white apparel which his black flowing hair drooped on.

These were the Seven Lords of Valencia who alongside the king, King Andreas IV would determine my fate
