This is a bad idea. This is a really bad idea. Very, very, horrendously bad idea.

Pyra, after explaining the absolute shit show of a plan, created a door into a long-ass corridor where phase one would take place.

I, obviously, was sweating buckets and shitting bricks. We had already passed by some ten Gods and Goddesses, all of which looked at me like I was some sort of mystery, yet Pyra just told me; "Calm down and stick to the plan."

Yeah sure let me just do that when I'm passing by beings of absolute power, all of which can completely erase my soul from existence.

My job right now was to play the part of a God. Now me, a mortal, trying to play god (which I can't do) while deceiving actual Gods (which I can't do), just doesn't work. Luckily we soon reached our destination.

When I asked how they couldn't immediately tell I was, in fact, not one of them, Pyra just said "My divinity is shielding you. To them it seems you are just a weak God of Fire. Gods are generally too busy to delve to deep into things."

Outside of our destination Pyra and I stopped. She looked me in the eyes, which she had to look up to do since she was a good head shorter than I, she spoke "Inside is someone who won't be fooled by our disguise. Remember you only have 30 seconds, and even then your soul will be strained, and quite possibly hurt. It doesn't matter which you choose just-"

"Yeah, yeah we already went through all this back in the office. Is everything ready?"

"The lock is, but I still need some more time to finish everything else."

"Alright we'll wait here in the-" behind Pyra I saw some heavily armed gods rushing right at us.

Pyra, who saw my expression change looked behind herself and saw them as well. Immediately she opened the door we were standing at and pushed me in. She then got inside as well and used the lock she mentioned before to block any further access.

"Which foolish mortal dares disturb my peace?" A thundering voice that seemed to come from all directions all at once asked. This voice reeked of authority, and superiority, enough to make even gods want to submit, much less a playboy mortal.

Before I could kneel Pyra grabbed me by the shirt and lifted me into her embrace. A soothing warmth spread through my body and I couldn't help but reach up and hug her.

"The plan has changed, you have ten seconds." She said before turning away from me and addressing the voice. "Father I am leaving. I ask you don't try to stop me."

I had finally turned to the same direction Pyra was looking and was left in awe. A vast lake of tranquil water, reflecting the stars above, spread out as far as the eye could see. The entire place had an ethereal purple glow that was so beautiful a grown man would shed a tear.

Suddenly a humanoid form appeared. I say humanoid due to the horns coming out of its head, and the scales that covered it's entire body. This scaled monster had black, almost skintight, armor as well as an equally black sword that eminated a sense of dread.

"Daughter you know I cannot allow such a thing. It is against our rules, and more so against my code. However, I will allow you to try."

Just as things were about to turn grim the Knight-esque God plunged his sword into the ground, and two portals appeared a ways behind him. One was gold, the other silver. They were the portals of Reincarnation and Transmigration respectively.

Unfortunately for me the portal of Reincarnation was the one that was further away. I wanted to be reincarnated, since then I would have time to train my body, and adapt to the new world in a safe environment. From what Pyra told me about transmigration is that I would most likely appear in a forest far from any town or city.

"On my pride as the God of Dragons, and my pride of fatherhood I hereby accept your challenge. Goddess of Fire, Love, and Heart, as well as my daughter..." The God, who introduced himself as Bahamut pulled his sword from the lake, which didn't so much as ripple, and pointed it right at us, "Show me you will."

"You ready?" Pyra asked me.

Was I? Ignoring the literal god, who Pyra said is one of the strongest to exist, was I truly ready to live again? Despite having the chance to make everything better, to have another chance, was I really ready for that? Did I even want it? Wouldn't it be easier to just die and be done with everything?

Shaking my thoughts away I replied, "Yeah." And then phase two started.

Pyra nodded and, since I had previously left her embrace, reached a hand out to my back and poured her energy into me. She told me before hand since I was such a great vessel the most I would feel was a bit of discomfort, which ended up being true.

Not but a moment later Pyra was gone, and I felt a heavy weight in my chest. But beyond that I felt power. So much power. I felt as if I could do anything, and that nothing was as strong as me.

(Get out of your head, you only have eight seconds left.) Pyra said from within my mind. She told me about this beforehand as well so I wasn't surprised.

"I see, you will be my challenger. Come forth Damian Solace, Prodigy of Flame, allow me to test your will."

With five seconds left to spare the two of us collided. Pyra gave me the theoretical knowledge on how to control her powers, however actually doing so was a different story. I managed to create a shabby sword made entirely of flame to combat Bahamut's Dragonbane. Pyra informed me that was the name of his sword.

As expected my sword instantly shattered upon coming into contact with Dragonbane, so I ducked underneath the swords arc, using my hands to keep my balance, and rushed towards the closest portal.

I was much faster than I imagined and closed the distance almost instantly, as I touched the portal I felt something odd coming from my back and chest.

By the time I realized Bahamut had thrown his sword straight through my chest I was already half way through the portal.

The sword sprouted spikes that were meant to keep it from leaving my body and started pulling me away from the portal.

Ignoring the pain, and the metaphorical taste of iron in my mouth, I used a trick Pyra taught me back in the office.

I completely disintegrated a large portion of my chest, leaving a gaping hole. Dragonbane, no longer latching onto me flew back to Bahamut, while I flew through the portal, unable to make out what Pyra, or Bahamut was saying.
