“Do you like someone else?” Wei Keli asked as the muscles of his face tightened and his lips trembled in anger.
Almost-rage could be heard in his voice.
It was as if he could suddenly do something seriously bad to Tan Mo.
To be more exact, he already had.
His grip that was holding Tan Mo by her shoulders suddenly tightened.
In his eyes, Tan Mo was no more than a weak little girl whose shoulders were soft and brittle. He felt as if he could break them at any time with the strength in his hands.
He had been waiting for Tan Mo to grow up for years. In his mind, Tan Mo had been promised to be his wife ever since they were children.
When he learned that she had someone else who she liked and he was nothing more than a friend to her, it felt as if he was being cheated on.
His mind was instantly filled with anger as he felt betrayed.
The anger was so intense that it was as if nothing could ever make it subside.
He couldn’t believe that Tan Mo had actually had the guts to make up an excuse like her family had never planned their wedding from the start.
From his own point of view, the only reason Tan Mo had been introduced to him at a very young age was so that they could become a married couple in the future.
No matter how dissatisfied he was with Tan Mo’s current condition and personality, he had still kept his promise to marry her.
And yet, Tan Mo had found feelings for someone else while he kept himself for her.
Wei Keli couldn’t think of anyone near their age who could be as outstanding and good-looking as he was. He had always believed that he was the best of anything among every one of his age. Not a single soul could be better than him.
That was why he was famous at Beijing University and was crowned the best-looking man for three years straight.
What Wei Keli didn’t know was the fact that the only reason he could enjoy sitting on that throne was that Wei Zhiqian had already graduated from Beijing University.
Back when Wei Zhiqian was still a student at Beijing University, he rarely showed up at school other than to go to classes because of his work.
Thus, most people didn’t even get a chance to meet him, but he slowly became more like a living legend.
There was talk and speculation about Wei Zhiqian around the campus, but not many had ever seen him.
Since Wei Zhiqian felt as if he was out of reach for these people, they stopped treating him as a student, but as something more like a deity instead.
There was also the fact that Wei Zhiqian hated having his name nominated in such a useless competition.
That was why after only a few months of studying at Beijing University, he was no longer a nominee for the Most Handsome Beijing University Student.
If Wei Zhiqian’s name was still on that list, there was no chance that Wei Keli could win that title.
In Wei Keli’s eyes, those who were called a genius or a prodigy were nothing more than ordinary people.
He was better looking than they were and came from a better family as well.
In terms of academic success, being a student at Beijing University meant that he was at least on a par with them since it was one of the best universities in the nation.
He had everything, from looks to money to success.
That was why he was so full of himself and thought of himself as the best in every aspect.
Suddenly, a name came to his mind.
Ming Yeqing!

Ming Yeqing and Tan Mo were both 18 years old, and they had both entered Beijing University together at the age of 15.
They’d always been together ever since they started studying at Jixia Academy.
When Tan Mo would skip grades, Ming Yeqing would too. They remained classmates until they graduated from high school and entered the same university.
“It’s Ming Yeqing, right? The guy you like?” Wei Keli questioned her. “When people sidelined you at Jixia Academy, he was the only one who stood by your side. When you skipped grades, he did too. That’s how you two became so close. Since you two were still young back then, I didn’t think much about it. But now that you guys have grown up, you started realizing you have feelings for him, right? When did it start? When you were 14? 15?
Wei Keli continued with his own speculations as his grip tightened even more. “You didn’t have any other friends than him in university until Qin Muye came along. You two are the same age as well. It’s him, right? Tell me! Answer me!”
Tan Mo sighed and finally decided to stop pretending anymore. She stared at him coldly and said, “No, I just don’t like you. It has nothing to do with Ming Yeqing or anyone else. He’s my best friend, so stop with your stupid childish speculations.”
“Childish? Am I childish to you now, Mo Mo? What, am I a stranger to you now?” Wei Keli scolded her, disappointed. “Looks like you really don’t like me, huh? Is this how you repay me? I’ve been waiting patiently for you for years, and all I get from you is betrayal.”
Wei Keli couldn’t help but call Tan Mo a b*tch in his head.
Tan Mo rolled her eyes. She was annoyed to the point where she didn’t even want to explain to him anything any longer.
No matter what she said, people like Wei Keli would always just hear what they wanted to hear and filter out all that they didn’t want to hear.
It was useless for her to try to reason with him as he would never listen.
“Let go of me this instant,” Tan Mo ordered in a cold tone.
“Huh? Am I even doing anything to you? I can’t even touch you now?” Wei Keli was getting angrier.
Other than anger, his face had hints of shock as well.
This was the first time he’d ever seen something other than a sweet smile on Tan Mo’s face.
Her expression was so cold that it felt as if he was standing on the top of the highest mountain in the world.
It wasn’t like Wei Keli had never seen a cold expression before, but Tan Mo’s stern face was way different than other people’s.
The unfamiliar expression stunned Wei Keli for a second before a weird emotion filled his heart.
He’d never seen Tan Mo like that before. In his mind, she had always been a sweet, cute little thing.
However, her cuteness and beauty were something one could get bored with, unlike Yuan Keqing, who had to try hard to be cute, and Qin Murong, whose gentleness was mixed with arrogance.
Compared to them, Tan Mo’s pureness had been too monotonous.
Now, he’d finally gotten to see another side of Tan Mo.
Her cold expression fit perfectly with her gorgeous, sweet face.
It enhanced her beauty to a whole new level.
Wei Keli could not explain why two contradictory things could look so perfect together.
Wei Keli was mightily attracted by the new Tan Mo.
It was as if she was a witch who had just placed a curse on him. He was utterly enchanted by her and could no longer control himself as he slowly approached Tan Mo.
Tan Mo had always been beautiful despite not being on the list of Most Beautiful Beijing University Students.
Wei Keli knew that was Wei Zhiqian’s doing.
He didn’t want a lot of people to learn of her beauty, as it would be traumatizing for a little girl to get harassed by perverts.
Tan Mo also didn’t need people who wanted to get close to her just because of her looks.
If someone were to like her, then they would have to like everything about her.
