Liu nodded as he told himself that he should never suggest planting flowers with Tan Mo in front of Wei Zhiqian again.
Wei Zhiqian took the seeds and headed to the flower bed with Tan Mo.
The Old Mansion had a few small and delicate green plant beds in it. Those were mostly affordable plants that were used to decorate the interior of the mansion.
The pretty and expensive flowers were all planted outdoors.
Some could be found on the sides of the hallway, and some were by the garden walls.
Wei Zhiqian’s grandparents decided to plant them outside because they found it pointless to plant the flowers indoors as they would be the only ones who got to admire their beauty.
It wasn’t easy for the flowers to bloom perfectly, so it would only make sense if others got to admire them as well.
People would usually say that expensive flowers should be treated as treasures. However, Old Mister Wei did not agree.
To him, before all these expensive flowers started to grow, they were the same as the other flowers planted in the ground. He did not understand why he should differentiate the expensive from the normal ones. He treated all the flowers the same.
If the expensive flowers could not survive the environment in the garden, then it wasn’t fated to grow there.
However, this made Liu’s job harder.
It wasn’t as if the expensive flowers could not survive the outdoor environment because different flowers could only grow in different humidity and soil.
Most expensive flowers were grown inside a base. The only problem with growing them indoors was that few people would get to admire them.
That was why Liu decided to do his best to only plant flowers that most suited B City’s environment.
It was either that, or he would only plant flowers that would bloom in different seasons.
With his hard work, flowers would bloom in the Old Mansion’s garden throughout the year.
There were different flowers in each season.
Some would die or dry up in one season while others bloomed.
It was challenging planting flowers indoors but entertaining at the same time.
What surprised everyone the most was the tenacity of the flowers.
When Tan Mo helped Liu with planting flowers as a little girl, she would always say, “Flowers have strong vitality. They might not be able to bloom under certain weather conditions, but they will still do their best to survive. As time slowly passes and the weather changes, they will start to bloom.”
To plant the new flowers, Liu had already cleared an area in the flower bed.
Even though Liu didn’t mention it, the empty lot was easy to spot.
Wei Zhiqian brought Tan Mo to the lot and sat down on the ground, something one would never expect the young master of a prestigious family would do.
Since the lot wasn’t big enough for him to stretch his legs out, he could only cross his legs.
His posture caused his pants to stretch a little. Tan Mo was dumbfounded by what she saw.
She could clearly see the muscle on his legs as his pants were now sticking to them.
Her surroundings were suddenly filled with the aroma of male hormones.
As the sun was high up, it was as if Wei Zhiqian was glowing under it.
The man took his thin jacket off and put it down next to him on the ground.
He patted his jacket and said to Tan Mo, “Here, have a seat.”
Wei Zhiqian didn’t mind sitting on the soil, but he wouldn’t let Tan Mo do that as she was wearing a pretty dress.
It was a heartwarming action for Tan Mo as the man was still attentive to every detail.
The lady obediently sat down next to the man.
The edge of the flower bed was surrounded by cobblestones instead of fences.

Since there wasn’t anything tall separating the flower bed from the pathway, it was easy for them to sit on the pathway as they planted the seeds.
Wei Zhiqian started by unbuttoning his sleeve buttons before rolling the sleeves up, showing the muscles he had worked hard to achieve.
Tan Mo’s attention immediately shifted to the muscular arms.
The scene made her recall when they had a barbecue near her campus a few months before. At that time, Wei Zhiqian also rolled his sleeves up to grill some meat for her, causing all the ladies in the restaurant to stare at him for a reasonable amount of time.
Tan Mo did not notice it back then. Now, she finally realized why the ladies back then were so excited.
Worrying that she might have stared for too long and Wei Zhiqian would notice, she quickly averted her gaze.
When she could see the man move his arms, she would sneak some peeks at them from time to time.
The attractive arms kept moving around. When Tan Mo finally came to her senses from being distracted, an arm was already in front of her.
Her eyes followed along the arm to the hand and saw two candies in it.
Before she could even react, Wei Zhiqian asked with a soft voice, “Want some sour candy?”
“Huh? Y-yeah.” Tan Mo nodded without thinking twice.
She reached out to grab one of the candies in Wei Zhiqian’s hand.
When she took it, her fingers gently touched his palm.
It was so gentle that Wei Zhiqian would’ve missed it if he did not pay any attention.
When her finger touched his hand, it felt as if an electric shock was discharged from the contact, making his hand numb.
If Wei Zhiqian did not control himself, his hand would’ve trembled visibly.
Tan Mo’s fingers quivered a little as she felt an even stronger shock than the man.
After she had taken the cady, Wei Zhiqian quickly pulled his hand back before pulling on the candy wrap to open it. He threw the candy into his mouth and reached his hand back out to Tan Mo. “Here. Give me the wrap.”
“Okay.” Tan Mo nodded.
Usually, it was easy to open the candy wrap. No matter how hard Tan Mo tried, she couldn’t open it.
She tried to tear it from the other side but to no avail.
Since Wei Zhiqian’s arm was still extended, she didn’t want him to wait, resulting in her being restless.
The more restless she got, the harder it got for her to tear the wrapper open.
“Here, give it to me,” Wei Zhiqian said.
Before Tan Mo could even react, the man had already snatched the candy away from her hand.
“Why are you being so polite today?” Wei Zhiqian suddenly asked.
“Hm? Was I?” Tan Mo didn’t realize she was doing that. She admitted that she felt a little embarrassed as she would always think of something she shouldn’t when she saw him, but she did make sure that she didn’t sound unlike her usual self.
“Well, usually, if you can’t open it, you would’ve given it to me right away, not like how you were trying to open it yourself just now,” the man replied.
If Wei Zhiqian did not bring that up, Tan Mo would never have realized it.
She couldn’t help but notice she indeed was different than her normal self. Perhaps because she was nervous was why she found it awkward to ask for Wei Zhiqian’s help.
The wrapper that took Tan Mo a lot of effort to open was torn open easily by the man.
He grabbed the candy out of the wrap and put it in front of her mouth. “Here.”
Tan Mo could smell the faint sweetness and sourness from the candy. Since it wasn’t her first time being fed by him, she quickly ate the candy to avoid any suspicion.
Since she was eating it straight from his hand, there was no way she could avoid her lips touching his fingers.
The moment they touched, all Wei Zhiqian felt was an indescribable softness.
It made his throat dry up instantly, and he gulped.
As for Tan Mo, she felt his fingertips with her lips and tasted the sweetness of the candy that was left on them.
