It takes a moment for the words to register but when Khloe realizes what he mean she turns pale. "ALA here?!"

Oblivious to the meaning of the acronym I turn my head "ALA?"

She nods "Alliance Liberation Army, the main terrorist cell active inside the Legion"

A shiver runs down my spine and I groan softly.

"Dear?"

Taking a deep breath I give them a wry smile "Somebody died…"

The two of them turn even more pale and without noticing I turn into my Animus form.

"Leone… you better not be preparing for what I think you are."

Groaning I collapse through my knees and tightly grab my stomach "P-People…"

Khloe gently strokes my back yet it doesn't help a single bit. "Try to resist it"

The librarian sounds panicked "What's happening?!"

Khloe immediately hisses for him to be silent "Softly! She's the warrior goddess, people who die in battle are guided to the afterlife through her body, which causes incredible pain if she doesn't partake in battle herself."

As if the wave of dead people is never ending the pain keeps on flaring up and with a deep groan I lean on my hands while I squeeze my eyes shut only to feel my sword form under my palm.

"Leone! Please resist"

A sudden spike in pain causes me to scream out as it feels like my entire body tears apart. Only for a loud rumbling to follow.

"Oh god was that an explosion?! What's going on?!"

Khloe once again grabs her phone only to groan. "Completely jammed"

The urge to fight keeps growing and I try to stay calm yet the next spike of pain causes me to leap towards the door.

"LEONE DON'T!"

Unable to control myself I ignore Khloe's words while I pass through the door and in seconds I've ran through the entire library. Near the entrance I spot a group of people being held under gunpoint.

One of them spots me and looks staggered "What the?!"

Before I realize what's happening I feel sharp stings all over my body, yet it doesn't register as pain instead more like my body is reminding me something happened.

Even before realizing they're bullets passing through my body I've already leaped towards the nearest person holding a rifle. With a casual wave of my sword he's ripped in half.

Still under a barrage of bullets I leap from shooter to shooter either slicing or launching away them with every swing.

"WHAT IS SHE?!"

Feeling the bullets pass through me combined with the constant peaks of people dying and adrenaline of the fight itself I can't help but cackle "Oh humans…"

My own words startle me but before I can think of anything else, I instinctively leap to my right and pierce one of the terrorists only to feel my own arm go numb.

Looking down I see a serrated knife stuck in my arm and with a roar-like groan I pull it out of my skin. It's as if I'm blind to the blood and carnage around me as my emotions are still absent.

Looking around can't see anyone left alive except for the hostages "Are there more?"

One of them shakes his head, yet a moment later I feel something sharp slice trough the skin on my back "Oh? There were non left you say? What's this then?"

Turning around I see a casual clad young adult trembling on his legs from fear.

"For the Alliance!" He manages to scream with a squeaking voice. He immediately tries to stab me again.

Heaving a deep sigh I wave down my arm and with a single tap of my hand, I nearly break his wrist disarming him in the process.

While he cries out from pain and falls on his knees he gazes at me in fright causing me to shrug and motion to the arm he's holding "Sorry, that's most likely broken."

Groaning he sits on the floor but doesn't manage to reply.

Using my sword I raise his chin "So your words just now, that's truly what you believe then?"

Hesitating he replies "The Legion are liars! The Alliance is oppressed and once freed they will be our saviors!"

Sighing deeply I shake my head before kicking him to the side. Apparently his words frustrated me despite my distant emotions as I accidentally kick too hard and feel his arm shatter.

Seeing him laying flat on the floor I look down and whilst I feel somewhat guilty because of breaking his arm, part of me couldn't care less about his well-being. "Then lie there and rethink what you've done."

Sobbing and yammering he lies on the ground and seeing he's no immediate threat I walk towards the exit. But a moment before I reach the doors a bright flash blinds me after which an explosion blows me off my feet.

[Shit! This is bad.]

Instantly I feel my skin being lacerated by glass and for a couple of seconds I soar through the air only to crash into a bookshelf crying out from pain and falling down on my knees. Having lost my sword I land on my hands and cough while gasping for air.

[This… isn't over yet…]

Managing to get up I stumble and hold my now pretty much incapacitated left arm before looking at the hostages who seem to have been spared the worst.

"Run to the end of the Library through the left hallway, you should be safe there."

Stubbornly ignoring the pain I stumble towards the now ruined entrance. Smiling as with every step I feel my body healing and pain retreading.

Yet after climbing over the debris I'm overwhelmed by the sight of death and destruction. "W-What…"

In the corner of my eye, I see someone running holding a rifle similar to those inside. Reaching for my sword I want to pick it up and leap after her, but suddenly I hear a loud bang after which the woman collapses on the ground and bleeds out.

[Gunshots?!]

Immediately back on edge I gaze up into the sky only to recognize the airship from our facility. "Ah…"

Using my weapon to support myself I gaze at the stream of people jumping out of the ship. After a squadron of soldiers wearing tactical full body armor more casually clad people follow yet I can't recognize any of them.

Apparently someone has recognized me as I hear a somewhat familiar voice "Leone! Can you hear me?!"

Dazed I look into the worried reddish eyes of Happy and nod "In the back, hostages and Khloe… they.. help."

A moment later I feel a hand on my shoulder and look up into the firm silver eyes of the Admiral "Stand down Lieutenant, your job is done."

Her words take a moment to register but somehow seem to dispel the adrenaline after which I collapse through my knees.

"Lieutenant?!"

Someone runs towards me and holds my arms so I don't fall backwards "Are you okay?!"

Hearing a familiar voice on the background I smile "Felix"

Hearing him walk towards us I relax "She'll be fine, get her to sit against that pillar."

The person who spoke earlier helps me up and leads me towards a pillar where I sit down. Gazing at her feminine face I feel exhaustion creeping up as the concrete, asphalt and even the airship itself become incredibly blurry.

"Weapon…"

Pointing towards my blade laying on the ground, Felix walks towards it and kicks the hilt towards me "Dispel it"

At the brink of passing out I nod, which almost causes me to fall over. Touching the hilt and recognizing the sword I dispel it causing the woman who helped me to gasp "Who are you?"

Smiling faintly I close my eyes "L… eo-"

"LEONE!"

Khloe's voice echoes pulling me back into the present. When I feel a tight embrace I smile faintly despite the horrible pain it causes "H-H… ey"

Hearing her gasp she feels my face "There's so much blood, are you okay?!"

Yawning and headbobbing I nod "Healing… no probl-"

She sighs from relief and as the world turns so blurry I can't even make out if something stands in front of me I feel something wet "tear?"

I'm so exhausted I can barely produce sound "No… crrry"

With a sobbing giggle she replies "No purring while talking"

Softly groaning I try to look up but no longer have the energy to look up "no fairrrr"

When I feel an even tighter embrace I moan softly "lob you"

Giggling she lifts me up "Come let me get you to safety, rest dear"

Exhausted my head leans against her shoulder "do"

While I feel her walking my consciousness fades in and out only for me to come back to my senses when I hear a familiar female voice yell my name.

"She couldn't take it anymore, I think she secured the library."

Managing to lift up my hand I stick up my thumb "did, then boom"

Immediately Zhloe giggles before coughing "Wait I shouldn't be giggling!"

Faintly smiling I lower my hand "Got..cha"

Khloe laughs "I like her this way."

Remembering the book I try to look up but may have spend the last of my energy. "Boo- k"

"…. Admiral…. Secure… don't …"

No longer able to make out what she's saying I give in to the exhaustion and fade away near instantly.

--

A soft breeze wakes me up and as I open my eyes, I leap back in fear as I stare upwards at a giant robot.

[What is that?!]

"Surprised dear?"

Frowning at the familiar voice I turn to my right only to look at a pair of legs, when I look up I see a man I vaguely remember "That's a prototype Goliath, our secret weapon against the Legion"

Looking back at the machine a shiver runs down my spine

[Is.. this a memory?]

Stepping back I feel anger rising yet a soft hand on my shoulder makes me look up "No need to be afraid cutie, it's friendly to all of us in the Alliance"

Looking up I stare into a pair of tranquil, incredibly deep blue and wise eyes that feel incredibly familiar

[M-Mom?]

"Love please keep Naomi close to you, they are going to activate it"

The woman holding me nods, and I feel her grip my shoulder tighten. Once the machine activates and stands up, everything in my soul screams out that something is wrong. Suddenly I feel my paws forming and stare at my hands in surprise as I can't see my paws.

[Huh?!]

"Watch out!"

The machine dashes towards a group of engineers and in a single swipe crushes all of them. Panic erupts and my mom's screaming makes the machine look our way.

[Must protect.. but how?]

As it dashes towards us, I hear the man from earlier scream and a moment later I feel myself getting covered in a warm and wet substance

[h-huh?]

Looking up I stare right at the bloodstained sword of the machine and my eyes widen

"Naomi!"

I can't seem to move and simply stare at the sword while I wipe my hand over my face, seeing it's covered in blood.

A second later I hear the sound of hydraulic engines shutting down and the machine collapses in front of me.

"Naomi!" I feel two strong arms holding me and as I stare up I recognize the man

[DAD?!]

Cautiously looking back I see the bloody, mangled and unmoving body that once belonged to my mother laying behind me.

"Don't look dear, don't look"

--

Time seems to skip as suddenly I'm strapped into a strange machine

"Lord Valefor, are you sure you want to do this to your daughter?"

He nods "Since that day.. she's been nothing but an empty husk, erase her memories, I'll let her grow up with my second wife in the Peaks, there she'll be able to live safely until she's of age to join me in the palace"

The other man dressed in a black suit nods and a moment later everything turns dark.

[Mom?]
