Chapter 12: Chapter 12 – Magic Knights Captain

The next few months, Caelum had studied how the grimoire works and found that it was deeply connected to a person's life or rather their soul. It is essentially a skill of a person using Tensura terminology. Now that his magical energy had grown and the grimoire essentially acted like his tempest blade. He had tried placing the artifact into his grimoire and connecting the two that would essentially record his form of Magia Erebia.  

Moreover, he had been able to form more skill thanks to his control and Mana capacity. Caelum was only able to form a few skills considering most are complicated but was extremely useful. Regardless, the setback had not made him any weaker and had reached new heights when his Mana core had turned into [ Initial Silver core ]. 

At the current times Caelum had been called by Julius for an unknown which he didn't mind and only pondered on the reason for his sudden request to meet. His senses could see the enormous Mana coming from the single room but the density varies from the individuals. He went inside to see all of the magic knight captains at the table noticing him arriving with Fuguleon. 

Caelum eyes wander around to look at each magic knight captain. There is one with an extremely buff body and pure dark hair accompanied by a menacing aura while smoking cigarettes. This was the Captain of the black bulls, Yami Sukehiro. 

A man with lanky limbs and scarp body frame that had a similar menacing aura as Yami smiling maniacally preparing to slice anything. This was the Captain of the Green mantis, Jack the ripper

The most noticable is the large man with a creepy grin on his face. This was the Captain of Purple orca, Gueldre Poizon.

There was also a young girl with purple hat and cloak sleeping soundly from the whole ordeal unaware nor had the interest to look at Caelum. This was the captain of the Coral Peacock, Dorothy Unsworth.

Another one was a man wearing a mask and smiling in a charismatic way emanating a sinister aura around him. The Captain for the Golden Dawn, William Vengeance and leader of the eye of the midnight sun.

Caelum could act now seeing it would prevent certain things but the opportunity to grow stronger by fighting them would be there and couldn't miss the opportunity. Furthermore, the Word devil would be useful and copy its magic. 

Lastly was a young man with spiky, aqua-colored hair in a messy mound atop his head. He had an energetic atmosphere around him and was the first to notice Caelum arriving. This was the Captain. Of aqua deer, Rill Boismortier.

"Oh hello Fuguleon, how are you!? Who is this?"

"This is Caelum and he had been summoned by the Wizard king himself."

The people heard his name turn to look at his direction with a wide array of reactions. Yami hardly cared while Jack was curious since the name had been so well known throughout the kingdom that even Julius mentioned it.

"So this is the young boy that has been sparring with that Lioness!? I wonder what would happen if I cut you down??"

He creepily smiled while Caelum gave a face of disgust from his words and ignored him to focus on Charlotte who upon receiving a smile from him caused her emotion to be all over the place. She's quite adorable when trying to express her feelings for him. 

Caelum made a mental note to talk to her about her feelings. He wasn't dense like Yami nor did he want to immediately confront her when she was still confused if it was truly love or not. 

Fuguleon took a seat while Caelum stood since it was a place only reserved for magic knight captains. It didn't take long for the wizard king to arrive and find Caelum before him.

"Sorry if I arrive late. How are you, Caelum?"

"Alright I guess, I've been busy training my Grimoire for the past months."

"That's a great thing to hear. Anyway you might be thinking why I've summoned you along with the magic knight captain."

Caelum nodded since he was curious to see what his planning and if this was part of the devil's scheme. However, being a [ High Human ] allowed him to have a keen sense of Intuition and doubt that Julius was under the influence of the devil. He would notice it even though the devil tried to hide it. 

"I won't stall anymore and wish for Caelum to be a magic knight captain of his own squad."

Julius said sternly, surprising every captain considering he only recently gained his grimoire and hardly showed that the young boy was deserving the highest rank of magic knight. 

"Oi that had to be a joke, Sir Julius!? He's just a kid and doubts his quality to be even a magic knight."

"Hahaha it would be fatal to underestimate him, Jack. I've seen his power and well capable of leading a squad on his own. Besides, I believe all of you heard the name 'Indra' running around the clover kingdom?"

Caelum paused curiously looking at him and remaining stoic knowing that it would eventually be revealed that he was the one who had been busy helping people. Though, he only did it for skill and magic rather than saving people. 

The magic knight captain had been searching for the said person for nearly 8 years now and ended up empty handed. Caelum always left without a trace with one eye witness telling about his power and appearances. 

They were confused why their leader mentioned that person then finally realized who Caelum was, who smirked toward them. Fuguleon sighed knowing that it was impossible to hide it since he was the only child that had the talent to be that strong. 

"Are you implying that this young man was the one we have been searching for?"

"That is correct. I've considered it ever since I've seen him spar with Mereoleona and concluded he was 'Indra'. In addition to that, 'Indra' records had spotted areas near our kingdom and no sighting in the other kingdoms which is why it was logical to think he lived near or at the clover kingdom."

William observed Caelum evaluating him for future threats that would come. The bandits that they have captured had foretold a story where a child was the one who had defeated them in an instant. Caelum had already foreseen this before it all happened and calculated that his action could be merits in becoming magic knight. He doesn't want to be under anyone else but himself. 

"So what will you say about it, Caelum?"

Everyone turned to look at the young man who had been silent at the whole ordeal. The magic knight obviously didn't want to believe the claim but the words of Julius was enough to make them question his identity. 

"Perhaps I should show a demonstration for my qualifications?"

At that moment the room became cold as Caelum emanated his killing intent and flaring his magical energy that obviously made the magic knight tense up. They were dumbfounded to see a young man who only had his grimoire for a few months yet his power eclipses that of everyone else even Dorothy woke up looking at him in shock. 

Caelum's cold eyes made them unable to even move from the pressure beside Charlotte since he didn't want to scare her too much. It was then his expression changed into a bright smile akin to yato from noragami.

"Hahaha sorry I just wanted to flex but didn't intend to pressure any of you. I was so used to fighting that lioness that I forgot that none of you are like her."

He gave an apologetic smile a contrast of his intense pressure. Caelum appeared to be a completely different person from before. Julius was even affected by it quite a bit but already knew his character. 

"Well then, is there any objection to young Caelum's qualification to be a magic knight captain?"

None had raised their opinion that made Julius smile. He believes that by having Caelum be another beacon of hope for the people then they would feel more safe and considering his past actions already had a positive view of him. 

"If there is none, let us proceed to the name for your squad and the member you wishy I have."

"I want my squad to be named [ White Tempest ] and my vice captain be Sapphire while my members are Noelle and Mimosa."

He would have added Leopold but he was already aiming to be at the crimson lion alongside his brother Fuguleon. Julius nodded at the name and members since he knew they were his 'Fiancees' and would work together much easier. 

"Alright we will discuss further later. For now, I would like to hear daily reports for your missions. You may stay, Caelum."

He nodded listening to their reports waiting for it to end and had a private chat with Julius. Once everything was over and everyone had to leave, Caelum was able to discuss the design of their uniform and sigils. 

Caelum already prepared it that surprises Julius but quickly calms down considering he was a genius and talented young man. The uniform was a simple white mantle with a sword and wings as the sigil.

"I'll prepare this and deliver it once it's done. We will announce your status as magic knight captain a month later."

"Sounds good to me. I believe another month would be the magic knight selection?"

"That's right and I recommend finding some new recruits if needed."

Caelum nodded but didn't plan on recruiting anyone else besides those who are in his squad. Though, he would never know and see if they could be of any use to him. Once everything was done Caelum walked home when he noticed an anti magic bird perching at a building seemingly watching the kingdom unfold. 

He used his senses to check if that creature was who he thought it was and fortunately he was correct. Caelum smiled and walked towards it in non threatening manner.  

"What would an anti-magic bird do here?"

The creature was taken aback his arrival but remain where it was observing Caelum who gave a friendly smile and sat beside it.

"Aren't you lonely being here? Though I have to see it does have a nice view."

He softly said looking at the kingdom and saw the sun slowly setting. It was truly otherworldly beauty that would only be understood if they personally witnessed it. Meanwhile, Caelum's words seem to be affected by the little creature feeling the emotion from it. 

Caelum moved to caress the dark feather who wanted to move and refused the gesture but couldn't. 

"Perhaps you're longing for something? A family perhaps? I feel the same way as you."

He reminisced the memories of his family who he had left within his old world in order to grow stronger and save their lives. At first he only wanted to cure and give them better lives but things had turned complicated and discovered their countless enemies that he had to face in order to live in peace. 

Caelum's goal was now to be the strongest and protect those he loved. His expression noticed by the anti magic bird understood that he also longs for someone. It pondered the identity of this young man and understood he was not simple as he appears to be. 

"Say, why don't you come with me? I think Sapphire would enjoy your company considering she likes birds."

He waited for the anti-magic bird to respond before it decided to perch on his head that made him smile. 

"I'll take that as a yes. Alright, before we go I think it would be good if I name you. Let's flap your wings if I'm correct about your gender. Are you a girl?"

He was acting ignorant and the bird flapped its wings in agreement that made Caelum smile and decided to name her.

"Then I'll give some names and flap your wings if you like them. Noir, Kuro, Secre.."

It was then the bird quickly flapped its wing in rapid manner, surprised hearing a name that was too close. Caelum gave another smile and chuckle.

"I see you like the name, Secre. Then it is a pleasure to meet you, Secre. Now let's head home and call it a day."
