Chapter 20: Chapter 20 – Minor Setback

[A/N: I won't be adding Rebecca or Sally since they're not important. Only Noelle, Mimosa, Mereoleona, Secre, Charlotte and Lily are enough. Nor do I plan to revive Acier, Licita or even hooking up with Ciel(Yuno's mom which I misname as loyce which is apparently his father's name ), Perhaps Vanica but that's up for debate. ]

Caelum smiled under his mask when Asta and Yuno came to greet him along with Leopold and Fugueleon who questioned his relation with them. He responded honestly telling him that they were people that he had met in his journey as Indra. They seem to get along pretty well having the same brain cell. 

Fuguleon asked about his life as magic knight and reassured there weren't any problems besides training his squad to keep them in shape. Caelum gradually noticed people whisper and mockery but controlled himself and remained collective. 

He let them bicker yet Leopold was annoyed that they were mocking Caelum for essentially cutting through and became magic knight captain. Meanwhile, Noelle and Mimosa, who are prone to emotion and tried fighting back but were stopped by Sapphire. They understood that it was important to control themselves from starting a fight. 

Asta and Leopold were now fighting them while Caelum let them be watching in the sideline taking a bite into his food before slowly walking towards the fray emanating his terrifying aura that halted everyone's steps. Each step seems to cause the whole place to grow cold while Caelum eyes shimmer in blood red despites its true color being gold. He decided to shapeshift it and avoid people from questioning him which also included his hair. Caelum called out for leopold and Asta who didn't like them bad mouthing him.

"It's fine. After all…."

Caelum narrowed his gaze into those fools who looked down on him and instantly witnessed his presence emanating from an enormous creature, a dragon ready to Devourer them whole. They were all speechless and unable to fight back realizing that they had stepped into a dragon's tail.

"...they're weak."

They fell to their knees under the pressure that Caleum released while the other magic knight could only watch. He took another step that resounded in the room before using his [ Dragon Haki ] and made them know what they were.

"Know your place, fools."

His words released the golden flash of his Haki that caused them to faint from the immense pressure. Caelum scoffed at their will to fight back when his squadmate lasted more than a minute. 

Out of nowhere, someone burst in the door and informed everyone that the kingdom was undersieges by an unknown individual. Fuguleon slightly scolded Caelum for knocking the others but he ignored him and focused on fighting the enemies. 

"Noelle, Mimosa you'll head with Charlotte while me and Sapphire handle the other side."

They nodded and quickly transformed into their magic armor spell while Caelum used [ Shundō ] vanishing from his spot, quickly followed by Sapphire who used her illusion to protect the citizen. Though, she hardly has any regards for mortal lives as it was just a recurring thing when her mind was higher than them. However this doesn't mean she's heartless and doesn't know sympathy which is why she's fighting to save them.

Caelum uses his [ Silver Aura ] to freeze every single one close to his vicinity while summoning blades to slice through the hordes of zombies. He turns to look at Sapphire who efficiently uses her magic to protect the citizens. 

'This is taking too long.'

He took his [ Tempest blade ] transforming into his [ Silver Armament: White Tempest ]. His vast mana instantly causes the whole place to grow cold from the immenses coldness that his body emanates. Caelum spread his Mana sense and Ki sense trying to fight who are the civilians. 

At that release white flame that consumed the entire area of where he was shocking everyone then the moment he snapped his fingers caused the entire place to be frozen into solid ices. Caelum didn't have to do anything and witnessed them turning into dust that made him wonder if things were too easy for him. 

"Hmm?"

Caelum then felt the space to shift below him, finding that someone had tried to teleport him away only for him to counter by just shifting the space. He was annoyed by its attempt similar to pest biting into his skin which was rather unpleasant.  His attention drew towards the direction and quickly went to where the place was. 

He soon arrived at where Asta and Leopold were fighting alone then noticed Fuguleon that made him quite relieved but then the witness portal was about to capture him and quickly stop him since it would end badly for him. 

His option was merely to remove the magic stone for them. Caelum needed the help to summon the devil because there's something telling him the pay off would be worth it. Though he understood the risk for the innocent, Caelum isn't a hero and only does what he must. Fuguleon was surprised that someone had stopped him and turned to look at Caelum before frowning.

"Why didn't you let me go? It was the perfect opportunity to know their headquarters."

"Don't kid yourself, we don't know their power nor their overall strength. I know your power but that's too hasty."

Caelum even planned on convincing the elf that they are being manipulated but knowing that they won't believe his words even if he somehow ingrain it into their mind. Their hatred was so far too much that trying to force it into their mind would likely result in damaging them. 

Once he ends the elf arc would turn towards the spade kingdom and fight them once everything settled down. For now, Caelum scolded his adopted brother who fell silent and realized that his words were true and could argue. 

"Nice try but…" 

Caelum evaded an attack from behind him and vanished into thin air before appearing behind the spatial magic user who was taken aback by his speed and slammed into the ground by his fist. He was unable to fight back but used the last remaining power to escape much to Caelum's disappointment, miscalculating his prediction and quickly blocking the wind attack. 

'Something is wrong….'

He realizes something and quickly uses his magic to encapsulate the whole part of the town into his magic, then a large explosion erupted demolishing the buildings allowing the enemies to escape. Caelum pushed back the smoke revealing the citizens were unarmed. 

'They capture Asta huh? Well I don't need to worry about him but to think that someone has explosive related magic…I should rethink my prediction with the possibility that the storyline is shifting.'

Caelum hardly cared about the canon yet used it as guide but he grimaces at the fact that his enemy was able to catch him by surprise. He then shook his head from the failure.

'No, I knew the possibility and should consider this as a minor setback.'

He thought and soon everyone helped the wounded citizen and once everything was finished. The people cheered for the magic knight for saving them against the enemy.

Few days later, the wizard king had announced the current action for the magic knight that helps calm the people down. It's amazing that no one would think that he was someone possessed by the devil. The magic knight captains were doing their own investigation while Caelum was having a warm bath and taking a relaxing day after all the event.  

"Caelum!"

His strain of thought was interrupted when someone called out and heard Lily from the otherside of the door. Her tone made Caelum ponder what she wished to tell him.

"What is it, Sister Lily?"

"C-Caelum, I told you to stop calling me! I've already renounced my position as Nun but…"

"Hold on."

Caelum took a towel and opened the door for Lily who blushed seeing his body glistening from the wetness of the water and well toned body that hardly had any scar showing his strength and skills. 

"Tell me what's going on."

"W-Well, you know sister Theresa?"

"Oh I heard she was the one who trained Lioness and Fugueleon when they were young."

His memory regarding black clover was clear and recalled that she was the caretaker of Marie and the sister of Gauche who was on black clover squad. 

"That's great to hear that you know her. She has wanted to meet you since I told her about you."

"Oh is that so? I don't mind but when will we meet her?"

"If it's alright, tomorrow?"

"Sure, but why don't we have a date today then?"

Caelum moves closer wrapping his hand around his hips causing her to make weird noises. He chuckled hearing the adorable sound and intently looked into her eyes. Lily was mesmerized by his golden eyes since he doesn't hide it towards his harem. 

"I-I would love that."

"Hahaha I'm glad you agreed. Well, let me just change clothes and head to town."

Few moments later, he changed into his usual outfit knowing that wearing something grand wouldn't be lily's taste as she lives in simple ways. Caelum turned to see Lily wearing more casual clothes than her Nun uniform. He smiled softly upon seeing her and tried to make her comfortable since she still isn't used to her environment. 

"Oh you two are going on a date?"

"That's right, Sapphire. Hope you don't mind."

"Of course not, just have fun but if you're going to buy a gift then make sure to bring one for us."

He nodded and gave a farewell kiss to sapphire who smiled from the affection before seeing them off towards their date. 

'How unfortunate that I can't stay for long.'

Sapphire muttered under his breath having unfortunate news but decided to tell Caelum in the future once he finished this world. Meanwhile, Caelum and Lily were roaming the trees where people didn't bother to look at him as he had cast an illusion to change his appearance for their eyes to avoid being recognized.

He was a magic knight captain and it would be distracting for him to walk in public. Caelum notices how Lily wasn't speaking a single word and decides to ask her about it.

"Any place you want to check out?"

"Huh? Well, I don't know….can you take me somewhere special?"

"Somewhere special? Alright take my hand."

Caelum held out his hand and once lily held it was instantly transported into the highest peak of a nearby mountain where the clouds seemed unable to reach the top. Lily was dumbstruck by the beautiful view and turned to look at her lover.

"Where is this place?"

"It's one of the few places I've trained and accidentally found this place. This is where I usually clear my head from things to Better stand my reasons and tasks to do."

Lily could see how he gaze into the horizon was a view worth remembering while Caelum thought the same looking at the beautiful woman whose lips were far too tempting to not take it. Caelum was tempted to take her but refrain himself not wanting to hurt her. 

The two sat down on a large boulder looking at the passing sky and feeling the cold breeze of the air while chatting about their life. Caelum enjoyed the moment they spent together until the sun began to set and the two leaned on each other while taking in every moment of their time. 

"Caelum?"

"Yes?"

Caelum was taken aback when a warm lips went into his lips and saw Lily take the action to kiss him. They both enjoy the heartfelt kiss while Caelum feels the air start to heat up. He moved to push her into her back without much resistance and understood the situation. Lily's lips tremble staring at Caelum who is staring at her with full lust and love.

"Are you sure you want to do it here?"

"Y-Yes if it's alright with you?"

He smiled, caressing hair and prepared himself to take the nun for himself. Caelum never thought in his life that he'll have a nun into his harem and shook his thoughts to focus on Lily.

"Of course not. Actually it makes me more excited."
