Chapter 3: Author diary

I do receive emails frequently, yeah, the senders would frequently ask if they might remake my novel.

At the moment, I couldn't believe it. 

I may have taken a brief break, but to request to rebuild a novel that was being serialized...

Of course, I said no, Ah, to be honest, I didn't respond.

It was partly because doing so without permission would violate copyright laws, but it was also because I was embarrassed about my 'hiatus' status.

The title of the web novel I was working on was [TYRANT.]

It wasn't a sensation, but it was a fairly popular novel and the biggest hit in my five years of writing.

However, I had been on a two-month hiatus just before I received the emails.

The explanation was straightforward. I couldn't think of anything.

At first, I focused all of my energy on writing. 

My note on the world's setting was close to 150,000 characters long, and I poured my heart out in each chapter.

Nonetheless, the novel continued for six months, reaching the story's mid-late stage. But because I forced myself to write, the story was riddled with plot holes and the characters' personalities had crumbled. 

Unsurprisingly, the number of readers has been steadily declining, and the comment section was a shambles.

So many negative comments.

Finally, I took a hiatus.

But no matter how long I rested, I couldn't finish the story; not a single sentence came out.

Another email asked me to remake my novel.

[Please. This is for personal fulfillment. I would love to offer a complete remake of the novel[Tyrant], but I will not reveal the remake version of the novel anywhere. It will only be between us. He wanted to rewrite my novel for the sake of self-satisfaction.

"How much did he like my novel for him to send such an email?" 

I'm thankful but ashamed because I wasn't particularly proud of my work.

… Was that, in fact, the cause of this situation?

The odds of winning the lottery were estimated to be 1 in 9,573,645. What was happening to me right now had to be a 1 in 9 billion chance.

I was in an ordinary family home, and I was the primary earner, so I responded to the email.

[The Tyrant remake has finally been released]

The shocking news I read caused me to spill my coffee.

• Hahaha" both of them laughed.

"Again, another positive review," I muttered.

The news of the remake spread like wildfire, and the remake became a trend 

-Honey, I saw your remake on ScribbleHub and it was fantastic.

- Mama, papa can write...(smiled)I aspire to be like papa

My wife and daughter both enjoyed it.

"What, not both of you?" Because my family also commented positively, I decided to give it a shot.

(However, if I don't like the changes he made, I will impose a ban on the remake) I reasoned.

Because everyone is raving about the remake, I decided to purchase it to see what changes the unknown made.

 To my surprise he still included my signature on the front page, implying that we worked together.

After a while of reading, I like the improvements he made and the way he went about it. Where there was a plot hole, he changed the outcome, which I love, and the fans had no complaints, which I appreciated.

I wrote an email of thanks because I was happy that someone was writing my novel and making it right; even if I was angry about the violation of the agreement, a ban on it now wouldn't help me.
