Chapter 39: ‘Attending’ A Party

Issei fixed his tie, dressed in a regular three-piece suit, black being the main color with a red tie with a Gremory clip to keep it straight. Issei was still under the Gremory family so representing your house in such a way was 'Respected' in high devil society.

Once he fixed up his suit, he pulled out an envelope, an invitation to a party from Ajuka Beelzebub, a publicity stunt more than anything, to show that the Devil faction has a good standing with the rising Dragon that people are already thinking about 'Putting down' since his rise to power is steadily raising him higher and higher.

There will also be a few Fallen and Angels apart from the gathering, another stunt to show that their alliance is holding strong, and they've become friendly enough to attend dinner parties together.

Of course, the only problem was the snobs of Devil society, especially those making its high society, thankfully all Devils that would be there was hand selected by Serafall to be there, purely because there weren't problem children.

Channel magic through the envelope a circle appeared beneath him as it activated the 'pass' which allowed him to teleport directly to a guest room where the party was happening.

Once it happened he disappeared from his room, appearing in a large and fancy room, it was focused around functionally then being able to show off, but the money definitely spent on it all made it much fancier than most were used to.

Issei however has seen the Gremory mansion, especially the wing that was for parties and hosting, that was decorated by Venelana herself, and that woman KNEW how to be fancy, even if the rest of her mansion screamed warm family vibes.

Issei focused his eyes on the single waiting maid standing by the door, who bowed softly once he turned to look at her. ''Welcome, Issei Hyoudou, the 'Dragon King'. When you are able, please enter the hall with the rest of the guests.''

Issei blanked when she called him the Dragon King, his mind drawing a long blank.

~I guess... It would make sense? Dragons don't much care for a Hierarchy, you're either strong or weak. But you are currently housing two dragons... The only person that would be above you would be Great red, and Ophis.~

-Which in terms, could be the 'Empress and Emperor.' of the Dragon world.-

Issei watched the maid leave through the door, releasing a low sigh.

'But still, I already have problems with the public because of them thinking I have a complex of some sort that makes me better than all of them. Dragon King will not help the image.'

There were two sets of chuckles in his head as he stepped forward and entered the hall, a fancy dinner party for sure, with people with far fancier, and shiny clothing than Issei walking around. A few faces he recognized, but a lot he had no idea about.

Not caring for that he homed in on Ajuka across the hall, currently talking with an angel that seemed of high standing.

Making his way over Ajuka looked up to see Issei, like a beacon of hope as he turned to the angel.

''I'm sorry, but something else calls to my attention, as I have some business with the Dragon King.''

'Nope, don't like it.'

Another few snickers and chuckles as Ajuka moved over to shake Issei's hand, whispering. ''Thank god you appeared. You showed up early, but why did everyone have to show up even earlier? Come, follow me to another room.''

Issei was then led from the party, directly down a few hallways into a side room, the magic already present in the air told him it was a secured room. Ajuka moved to one of the empty tables and summoned his laptop, the moment it was open he began to type away.

''You know Ajuka, the person who hosts an event is usually supposed to stay a little longer.'' Issei chuckled as he walked over to join him.

''I find these events annoying, and time-consuming. I strictly became one of the Great Satans so I wouldn't need to pander to this... But Serafall asked me, and I'll be getting a sizable donation to my research... Here.''

Ajuka slid the laptop over to Issei, who needed to tilt it upwards since he wasn't willing to lean down as Ajuka had.

''You're saying it's not that hard to make them?'' Issei asked, reading the notes on the screen.

Ajuka chuckled, shaking his head. ''Honestly, it's not even that hard to make the devil pieces, just no one is willing to put the time into it and figure it out. Your 'Dragon' pieces however are even easier to create. You don't need the materials we do to make the Devil Pieces. Your powers at a high enough concentration can crystalize, and with some fiddling, those crystals can be used just like the Devil pieces, but Dragon pieces... Maybe not specifically aimed to strengthen certain aspects like the Knight of rook piece, but more of an 'Overall' enhancer... Even if one of your pieces will be stronger than most Devil Pieces.''

Issei summoned a USB drive, handing it off to Ajuka who immediately plugged it in, and began to examine the files inside it.

''This is... This is interesting! I always knew I was doing something wrong here! Thank you, with this, I should be able to complete a few of my projects far more quickly.''

After he copied the files onto his own laptop and pulled the files he needed for the pieces onto the USB drive, he handed it back to Issei who made it vanish once more.

''If you ever have any other ideas, or requests let me know... Now I just need to get to work on the training room for Sairaorg...''

Issei raised a hand as he waved while he was walking out. ''If you see him before I do next, tell him I said howdy.''
