Qin Fei glommily lying down on his animal skin. He didn’t want to go anywhere today. He didn’t want to worry about picking up the fruit and herbs. Today he was going to be a sponger. You gotta be kidding me, he had been stripped naked in public by Sa Lei yesterday, although it wasn’t the first time he had ‘gone naked’. But to be stripped naked in front of so many females was still too much for him to bear. Although Sa Lei had covered him with an animal skin blanket, but… God, he still found it very embarrassing.

Sa Lei walked into the tent and patted Qin Fei’s stick out little PP, “Don’t be angry anymore! Didn’t I personally cook the roast meat for you to eat yesterday?”

Qin Fei gave Sa Lei a blank look,”Go away! With only roast meat, you want me to stop being angry? In your dream!”

Sa Lei stroked Qin Fei’s messy hair, “Be good, I’ll make you delicious roast meat every day! Your male is going out to hunt.” As he said this, he kissed Qin Fei hard on the cheek, despite Qin Fei’s willingness.

Qin Fei watched helplessly as Sa Lei exited the tent, pouted his mouth and wiped out the saliva he had left from kissing him on the face. Actually Qin Fei was not angry, but he felt a little embarrassed. He still felt a little sweet and happy when he faced Sa Lei’s overbearing side. Mentally despising his mensao self, Qin Fei spat, “Barbarian, what else can you think besides the meat?”

In the end, Qin Fei was dragged out by Ruma, their target was still the same mountain they had visited yesterday.

Gina and the females had already studied Qin Fei’s things earlier last night. In the morning there were already several females wearing similar animal skin clothing. The group went off to gather the food happily. Naturally, they also already returned Qin Fei’s things to him. Qin Fei went out today, but no longer took the caged birds out and exposed the chrysanthemum to the sun.

Yesterday Ruma was in a bad mood and still suffered from the shock so he didn’t dig many of the pseudo-ginseng. After one night of rest, the strong old priest carried the panax pseudoginseng in his hand and went to find Qin Fei, humbly seeking advice. Hearing Qin Fei talk about the many benefits of panax pseudoginseng, he was immediately unable to sit still. He must drag Qin Fei to dig up the medicinal herb, so Qin Fei was helplessly being dragged out again.

Most of the ailments were unheard by Ruma, but fortunately Qin Fei was willing to answer his questions. Although there were still quite a few words and phrases that Ruma had heard for the first time, he was able to understand a few of them with Qin Fei’s careful explanation. As he watched, the calm old priest suddenly turned into an eager student, asking one question after another. Sometimes he frowned and pondered, sometimes he looked surprised, and Qin Fei unconsciously amused by his reactions but Qin Fei was still full of respect for an old man who was eager and thirsty for knowledge. Because what Ruma was striving for was not for himself but for his tribe.

As the two of them searched for herbs in the mountains, Qin Fei slowly explained to Ruma some knowledge about the herbs. The lucky thing was despite the fact that the herbs in this world were a little different from those on Earth, however they were not too far apart in general. Qin Fei also seriously warned Ruma that since the area where he lived before was very different from the environment where Ruma and the tribe lived, some of the herbs might not exactly have the same characteristics, so he had to be careful before adding it to the medicine. Ruma was very impressed by Qin Fei’s cautious attitude.

Unconsciously, the medicinal herbs had half filled the two large animal skin bags brought by them. Ruma looked up at the sky and saw that the sun was already at noon. The two of them found a flat place to rest and eat something.

Ruma took it out from his animal skin bag, it was wrapped using the large grass leaves. The larger one was handed to Qin Fei and the smaller one was held in his hand. He also took out some sweet potatoes and handed some to Qin Fei.

Qin Fei was puzzled when he opened the large grass leaf wrap, inside of it was actually a piece of roast meat, in the size of a fist and it looked so dry and unappetizing.

A little disgusted, Qin Fei handed the roast meat back to Ruma and decided to just eat the sweet potato.

Ruma frowned and shoved that piece of meat back at Qin Fei “Child, you may not know how precious the meat is in our tribe. Before you found the sweet potatoes, a male who went out hunting could only eat a piece of meat this big for lunch. The rest of the tribe, except for me, the priest who only gets a small piece, and even the females who go out collecting the food, often go hungry. The others who work in the tribe have to starve even more.”

Qin Fei looked at Ruma in surprise. If everyone in the tribe had to starve, where did he used to get his daily food from? Suddenly a thought popped up into his head, “It was Sa Lei. He gave his share of food to me!”

Ruma nodded his head, “Sa Lei said that you’ve just come to a new tribe and were in a bad mood. If he didn’t let you vent, you might get sick from holding it in. I thought so too, so I didn’t stop you when you occasionally throw the food away. Sa Lei also said that perhaps your tribe supposedly lives a good life, so it is justifiable that you do not like the food we have here and loathe it.” As Ruma said this, he sighed before he continued, “In previous years, during these little springs, a few people would have died. However, this year, thanks to you, the tribe has enough food to eat. It is a miracle. We are all very grateful for your contribution to the tribe. But we don’t have more than enough food here to waste, especially now that the hunting party doesn’t hunt many animals. Meat is still precious; so I would hope that you do not waste the meat that Sa Lei saves for you.”

Qin Fei felt a little warm as he wrapped the meat in his hand with the leaf and tried to put it back into his animal skin bag again but he was stopped by Ruma.

Ruma patted Qin Fei’s hand, “I know you want to leave the meat for Sa Lei, but that’s not what Sa Lei hope for.”

Qin Fei paused, opened the leaf and nibbled on the roast meat in silence, although the meat was dry and hard to swallow, Qin Fei felt a warm feeling grow in his heart as it went into his belly. Suddenly he missed Sa Lei and wished that the daylight would be shorter today.

The two finished their lunch and continued their journey through the mountains. Qin Fei explained the characteristics of several common medicinal herbal forms on Earth as he and Ruma searched the mountains.

Suddenly Qin Fei’s eyes lit up and he couldn’t help but exclaim “Ginger, it’s actually a wild ginger!”

Ruma looked at him as he pounced happily on a large handful of wild herbs, thinking that he had seen something good again so he asked anxiously, “What is this herb for?”

“It’s called ginger, it removes the fishy taste and adds freshness and flavors to the food.” As Qin Fei said this, he was digging out a ginger and shaking the soil off from it, “It can also be used medicinally. It can relieve internal heat and detoxify the body but if you boil the ginger with water and drink it, it can also enhance blood flow and dispel cold. It also generates sweat and treats colds, headaches and coughs.”

Ruma understood fifty to sixty percent of what he was saying and kept nodding, “Hn, from what you’ve said, this ginger is indeed a good thing.” He also knelt down and dug up the ginger together with Qin Fei.

Qin Fei wiped his sweat with the back of his hand and was about to say more about the usefulness of ginger, but before that he saw patches of plants growing beside the field of weeds, his eyes suddenly lit up again. The moment Ruma saw Qin Fei stop what he was doing, he also followed suit and looked at the large area of plants not far away.

That kind of weed Ruma had seen it before, usually growing in patches. The roots underneath were so large that one time, a member of the tribe tried to eat it during the famine and ended up suffering from the terrible itch and scratching painfully because of the juice from that plant. Since then, everyone in the tribe stayed away from that kind of plant.

Seeing Qin Fei walking straight towards that kind of wild weed, Ruma hurriedly spoke out to stop him, “Don’t touch that thing, it makes you itch so much!”

Unfortunately, he was half a beat too late, as Qin Fei’s hand had already reached out.

Translator’s rant:

Tl: explain yourself!

Sa Lei: I know some readers don’t like me. I may appeared ,too overbearing  sometimes or childish by sulking, but I already state that I am not angry that I didn’t get to eat the food but I am afraid that Qin Fei didn’t put me in his heart.

I also certainly give Qin Fei a lot of freedom, although it was misunderstanding at first, but since I really like him, of course I tried to get his attentions, we argue a lot and like to tease him. But Qin Fei definitely not being pushed to mate with me. If I dare to push forward, it’s because I thought Qin Fei also like me and I have a chance T.T
