Chapter 47.1
Speaking of coaxing, Wen Chi’s face didn’t look very good.
“Ai, Eunuch Zhu…” Wen Chi sighed, “I’m afraid I’ll turn into a corpse if I try to coax him.”
Eunuch Zhu choked for a moment before saying, “Don’t worry, Young Master Wen, His Highness is not angry about your spitting on him.”
The word “spit” made Wen Chi embarrassed for a moment, then he pondered a little and asked somewhat puzzled: “Then why is he angry?”
Eunuch Zhu stomped his feet helplessly: “His Royal Highness almost wrote his thoughts on his face. Can’t you see it, Young Master Wen?”
Wen Chi was dumbfounded.
Eunuch Zhu stared at Wen Chi with a sly look in his eyes and complained: “It’s because you let that person from the Hua family hug you, otherwise why would His Highness be so angry?”
Hearing this, Wen Chi was even more confused: “But Hua Zi Zang hugged me just to save me. His Royal Highness is not such an unreasonable person right?”
Eunuch Zhu: “…”
Eunuch Zhu really wanted to say that His Royal Highness is really that kind of unreasonable person but how could he dare to say that out loud? His Highness the Crown Prince would not forgive them servants like he had forgiven Young Master Wen time and time again.
After a few moments of silence, when Eunuch Zhu saw that Wen Chi still looked as if he still didn’t understand, he couldn’t help but let out a long sigh. He didn’t know what to say, so in the end he could only say, “Young Master Wen should not rush back to the Bamboo Flute Residence but go back to the crown prince’s residence first.”
“…” Wen Chi’s brows immediately frowned into small hills, he couldn’t control it for a while and wrote all the reluctance on his face, “Eunuch Zhu, this is not a very good idea. His Highness is already angry, if I still go to His Highness’s place, wouldn’t it be a bit too much? If I were to wander in front of His Majesty’s eyes, wouldn’t I be asking for my own death?”
Eunuch Zhu’s mouth was dry from all the talking but Wen Chi was not only unmoved but he also made his arguments very clear, leaving Eunuch Zhu speechless, so he played the emotional card.
“Young Master Wen, you should be considerate of us servants. If His Royal Highness is in a bad mood, we servants will also suffer.” After speaking, Eunuch Zhu’s high-pitched voice was full of tears and he put on a show, pretending to wipe away the tears with his cuff, “We servants are also in a dilemma.”
Wen Chi looked at Eunuch Zhu crying and was at a loss for words, so he hurriedly spoke softly and comforted him for a while.
Eunuch Zhu noticed that Wen Chi’s attitude had softened and thought that Wen Chi had agreed to his request, so he wiped away the tears on his face with the back of his hand and said with a smile, “Young Master Wen, you are really a good person. I will trouble you to serve His Royal Highness later.”
Wen Chi froze for a moment, “I haven’t said I’m going yet.”
Eunuch Zhu: “…”

Eunuch Zhu: “…”
After that, Wen Chi smiled sheepishly: “Eunuch Zhu, it’s going to be slightly harder for you guys tonight.”
Eunuch Zhu: “…”
As if he was afraid that Eunuch Zhu would force him into the carriage, Wen Chi didn’t give Eunuch Zhu a chance to speak before he darted into the Bamboo Flute Residence.

By the time Eunuch Zhu came to his senses, Wen Chi’s figure had already disappeared behind the gate of Bamboo Flute Residence.
Eunuch Zhu was stunned as he watched the gate being closed and it was only after a long time that he walked towards the carriage.
In the carriage, Shi Ye was still sitting quietly in the wheelchair, seemingly with his eyes closed and it was not sure if he had just heard the conversation between Eunuch Zhu and Wen Chi.
Eunuch Zhu felt the condensed atmosphere in the carriage and carefully bowed his back and sat down in his original position.
At this moment, Shi Ye suddenly said, “Did he leave?”
Eunuch Zhu replied in a low voice: “Replying to Your Royal Highness, Young Master Wen has been tired all day and is somewhat drained, so this servant sent him back to rest early.”
Shi Ye was silent for a while, then sneered: “Bengong already saw it, he who usually walks so slowly running faster than a rabbit. People who don’t know will think that Bengong is a man-eating monster.”
Eunuch Zhu was dripping with cold sweat: “Perhaps Young Master Wen is in a hurry to go back to rest…”
Shi Ye said, “Forget it..”
—————–
Wen Chi ran back into the house in one breath.
Ruo Fang and Ruo Tao were both sitting at the table waiting and when they saw Wen Chi running in in a hurry, they thought something had happened and hurriedly got up to welcome him.
Wen Chi took a sip of the tea poured by Ruo Tao, then waved his hands while panting and said, “I’m fine, why are you up so late?”
Ruo Tao said: “This maidservant and Ruo Fang were a little worried when we saw that the young master had not come back because it was getting late and there was no news from Eunuch Zhu.”
Wen Chi smiled: “The Peach Blossom Banquet was quite lively and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince stayed relatively late before coming back.”
Ruo Tao said, “It’s fine as long as Young Master is safe.”
“By the way, Young Master Wen.” Ruo Fang brought a guqin from nowhere and put it lightly on the table in front of Wen Chi, “This is the guqin sent back by the people around His Royal Highness.”
Wen Chi was a little surprised, he thought that Shi Ye had given him a guqin but after taking a closer look, he realized that was not the case.
If he is not mistaken, this guqin should be the guqin that Wen Liang specially brought to the Peach Blossom Banquet and it is also the guqin that General Lin used to play at the Peach Blossom Banquet and it is also a relic of the original owner’s mother.
This guqin..…
It was actually sent by Shi Ye?
T/N – I will post extra chapters this Wednesday as well.
Also, just want to tell you, that Wen Chi’s character is very timid. There is a reason for that. If you read chapter 3 it says “He naturally knew what Shi Ye was talking about, maybe others didn’t but he, who had read the novel three times, knew exactly what he was talking about. Not considering Shi Ye’s eccentric temperament, he has a strange fetish – that is he does not like to kill the timid and weak, especially a cry baby.” So that pretty much answers his timid nature. But also, in the original novel Shi Ye was described as evil and since he wasn’t the protagonist Shi Ye’s personality wasn’t described in detail. So obv Wen Chi doesn’t know that Shi Ye is a softy in the inside (soft only to Wen Chi). So Wen Chi is acting as a cry baby to save his neck. But with the progression of the novel there will be a character development in Wen Chi and also solve some mysteries to the character of Shi Ye.
