Still, Xu Bi Ying wasn’t willing to let go.

She stared at Gu You with tears brimming in her eyes. “You Gege, I just blabbed my mouth stupidly, don’t take what I said to heart. We’ve known each other for so many years now, you know what kind of person I am, right?”

Gu You knitted his brows. “People always change.”

Xu Bi Ying’s little face paled. “What do you mean? Are you saying I’ve changed?”

Gu You sighed again. “Go back.”

Gu You changed so quickly, making it impossible for Xu Bi Ying to believe him no matter how hard she tried. She suddenly thought, could it be that Gu You’s wife from their last lives had appeared?

Xu Bi Ying’s chested heaved as she gasped for breath.

Her voice trembled as she asked, “Did you fall in love with someone?”

At that, even Gu You was stupefied for a moment.

Gu You pressed his lips together. In his mind appeared the shadow of a beautiful woman that was out of his reach. “Maybe.”

This was like a bolt from the blue for Xu Bi Ying. In a flash, she burst into tears and turned to ran away.

Gu You’s gaze remained on her retreating figure, but in the end, he didn’t chase after her.

……

Ruan Jiu Jiu sneezed.

Weird, who was talking about her?

The divorce agreement was only signed but it still hadn’t been notarized. Ruan Jiu Jiu planned to first obtain the certificate of divorce, and then recommence spending her days with Cheng Jun.

“Thunk.”

“Gudunk.”

Even after turning the entire drawer inside-out, Ruan Jiu Jiu still couldn’t find a shadow of the divorce agreement. Finally, at the very bottom, she found it, and then…noticed the area for their signatures…

Was now a big, gaping hole

Ruan Jiu Jiu immediately gave Cheng Jun a call.

He didn’t pick up.

Ruan Jiu Jiu continued calling as she took out the other copy of the agreement. Thankfully, the area for their signatures was untouched. Only, it was on this day that Ruan Jiu Jiu saw clearly what name was signed on it.

Cheng Xiu???

This bastard, actually signed as Cheng Xiu?

Then, she was the goddamn co-founder of the Communist party, Chen Du Xiu!

For a second, Ruan Jiu Jiu was speechless. She was truly defeated by Cheng Jun’s mental circuitry.

Ruan Jiu Jiu dialed once again and Cheng Jun finally picked up.

Ruan Jiu Jiu said viciously, “Come back for a spanking!”

On the other side, Cheng Jun spoke slowly. “You spent all the money?”

Ruan Jiu Jiu: “I didn’t even buy anything, how could it be go-… It’s not that! Look at what you’ve done! Were you the one who ruined the divorce papers?”

Cheng Jun spoke very innocently. “How could that be? It was probably some squirrels.”

Ruan Jiu Jiu: “…”

It was definitely a colossal squirrel by the name of Cheng Jun.

Ruan Jiu Jiu spoke coldly. “Where are you? I’ll come find you.”

Cheng Jun suspiciously grew silent.

“I’m on a business trip.” His voice was light and airy, with no substance to it. One just knew it was a lie.

As soon as Cheng Jun’s words fell, Tu Nan’s large pipes bellowed, “Boss, are you done with your call?”

Ruan Jiu Jiu: “…”

Cheng Jun: “… with Tu Nan.”

Ruan Jiu Jiu: “I’m heading to the company right now. Wait for me.”

That day she practically seemed possessed and forgot what happened. Ruan Jiu Jiu was currently depressed. She couldn’t understand Cheng Jun’s actions.

Ruan Jiu Jiu hung up, got changed, and went to find him.

The office wasn’t very far and Ruan Jiu Jiu soon arrived.

There was no work today and Mr. Meng took a day off, so Ruan Jiu Jiu also took the day off. Who knew that this would happen. Her pace quickened and her heels made a clicking sound. As she turned the corner, she nearly bumped into someone.

She just saw black. Thankfully the other person reacted fast and steadily grabbed a hold of her arm.

“Sorry, sorry.”

Ruan Jiu Jiu looked up frightfully yet saw Gu You.

She was a bit shocked. “Gu You? Why are you here?”

Gu You gave a slight smile. “I have to take care of some business. Are you here for work?”

Ruan Jiu Jiu nodded. “I have to take care of some business, too.”

Gu You: “Then let’s go together?”

“Okay.”

Due to last time’s awkward situation, Ruan Jiu Jiu didn’t take the initiative to ask about his situation, in case he had the wrong idea. The two’s pace quickened. Gu You knowingly kept his distance and spoke with propriety.

After chatting about recent developments, Ruan Jiu jiu saw that he was in a good mood, and was happy for him.

Soon, Gu You and Xu Bi Ying would get married. Xu Bi Ying would soon live a beautiful life.

Ruan Jiu Jiu was currently following Gu You up the staircase when Cheng Jun came out of the office. Ruan Jiu Jiu had her face turned towards Gu You as they were chatting, and she had a smile on her face. Suddenly, Cheng Jun’s shadow appeared. She was so frightened she jumped a few inches and almost sprained her foot.

“Careful!”

Gu You supported Ruan Jiu Jiu. She pulled herself upright in fright and let out a sigh.

The bag she was carrying had fell to the ground and its contents were scattered everywhere. Other than her phone and her makeup sundries, two documents fell out. The words “Divorce Agreement” were written across the page.

Gu You terrifyingly looked at the agreement, and then looked at Ruan Jiu Jiu.

“Ah, sorry, sorry.”

Ruan Jiu Jiu quickly picked it up and crudely stuffed it into her bag.

Gu You looked up and saw Cheng Jun standing there with a hand in his pocket. Cheng Jun took a few quick strides down the steps, brushed past him, and helped Ruan Jiu Jiu up. He tenderly asked, “Are you okay?”

In a huff, Ruan Jiu Jiu gave him a light whack of the fist. Her action was a little intimate.

“It’s all your fault for appearing like a ghost. Let’s go.”

“Mm.”

Ruan Jiu Jiu told Gu You to take care and then was dragged down the stairs by Cheng Jun. Gu You watched as the two left and all he could think of was the divorce agreement. For a moment, he forgot why he had come.

……

Ruan Jiu Jiu and Cheng Jun exited the office and went out on the streets.

She lost the smiling expression she had when she was talking with Gu You. Now, she bore a stern face as if someone owed her money.

The two walked to a coffee shop with tacit understanding. They sat and ordered a table of appetizers. Only after the onion rings, popcorn chicken, taro cake rolls, French fries, and beverages arrive did they begin their talks.

Ruan Jiu Jiu asked, “Why did you ruin the divorce papers?”

Cheng Jun slowly replied, “Why do you want to divorce?”

Ruan Jiu Jiu was a bit dumbstruck. “What do you mean?”

“Do you have someone you like right now?”

“Erm, no.”

“Do you like your current lifestyle?”

“… Yes.”

“So, why don’t you divorce when your decision has changed?”

Ruan Jiu Jiu was taken aback by his words. She felt like his words had a bit of reasoning. She sank into her thought and carefully thought about the reasoning. After thinking about it, there didn’t seem to be anything wrong?

Ruan Jiu Jiu felt even more depressed.

The cause being, she was actually persuaded by Cheng Jun?

She gloomily ate french fries and retorted, “There’ll be someone new.”

Cheng Jun: “Yup.”

Thus, in less than 3 minutes Ruan Jiu Jiu totally forgot the issue of why Cheng Jun wanted to destroy the agreement.

That night.

Their department arranged a group dinner. Mr. Meng didn’t show up, but Ruan Jiu Jiu couldn’t dodge it. Even though she could make use of Tu Nan to refuse, Ruan Jiu Jiu ended up deciding to go in order to fit in better with her coworkers. Forming better connections with coworkers was a good thing.

After so many days at the company, she had actually only hung out with Mr. Meng, Tu Nan and the others. She still wasn’t familiar with the other employees.

When Ruan Jiu Jiu entered the private room at the restaurant, a few youngsters started to get rowdy.

“Yo yo yo, the big beauty has finally showed up today!”

There were some people who didn’t really accept her. It was because even if the game was in development, they couldn’t really see Ruan Jiu Jiu’s true ability and naturally thought of her as a paratrooper, an outsider brought in by management.

Ruan Jiu Jiu politely sat with the women. There were only of them sitting scattered on one side, each with a different expression. Ruan Jiu Jiu felt a little like this was the Red Wedding.

Ruan Jiu Jiu said hello with a smile. Some of them directly snorted.

“Hypocrite.”

She didn’t take it to heart, and calmly took a seat. Everyone had already started to chat, so naturally there were those curious about Ruan Jiu Jiu’s background and peppered her with questions. Ruan Jiu Jiu just said that she was married, and a few of the male employees immediately took a blow and sadly turned tail.

As they chatted, the dishes arrived. Ruan Jiu Jiu focused on eating, and immediately heard a few women sniggering on the side.

“Look at her like that, what a bumpkin.”

“That’s so true, like she’s never seen a banquet before.”

Ruan Jiu Jiu who had been eating, immediately turned her head and stared at the women. When her peach blossom eyes weren’t smiling, their outer edges tilted upwards and had a few extra hints of menace. The women were immediately terrified into shutting their mouths.

In the next second, the menacing pair of peach blossom eyes transformed, curving into a smiling expression.

“Sorry, I let you guys see something funny.”

“No of course not, of course not…”

The women immediately shook their heads.

Ruan Jiu Jiu’s had a beautiful and charming face. One look and you knew not to trifle with her. The women promptly realized that Ruan Jiu Jiu wasn’t the kind of person who was easy to bully and immediately felt a little resentful.

A women sitting next to her said in a low voice, “Don’t pay attention to them. They just like to gang up on people.”

Ruan Jiu Jiu smiled. “Thanks.”

How could they eat without drinking wine? Red wine and white wine were placed in a circle, begging to be drunk. The guys in the division didn’t find it right to ask the girls to drink. The only cheers they did was for Ruan Jiu Jiu. It also counted as welcoming her as a new employee.

Ruan Jiu Jiu couldn’t refuse and could only drink the glass.

She was a lightweight drinker and could get drunk off of red wine. As expected, it wasn’t too long before Ruan Jiu Jiu became a bit intoxicated.

The gathering nearly concluded. A few guy coworkers were overly eager to personally escort her home. Though she was married, it was still good to get closer. When it came to pretty ladies, even getting a second glance would increase one’s lifespan.

Ruan Jiu Jiu was a bit drowsy. She held her head and squinted her eyes, sending a text to Cheng Jun.

[Come pick me up.] She then sent her location.

Meanwhile, her coworkers were all clamoring to send her home. Ruan Jiu Jiu walked out of the private room and rubbed the spot between her brows. She kept waving her hand, rejecting their offers.

Just at this time.

A figure came from the hallway and walked up. He walked very lackadaisically, yet had a very strong presence. The group of noisy coworkers quickly fell into silence. The noisy hallway soon became so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

This man was—

Only

In front of them, a figure blocked out the ceiling light, casting a long shadow.

Ruan Jiu Jiu uncomfortably rubbed her eyes, then lifting her head, saw Cheng Jun standing in front of her. With the light shining behind him, it was a bit difficult to see his expression clearly. It was only possible to see that his eyes were staring at Ruan Jiu Jiu.

She suddenly went forward and enthusiastically hugged Cheng Jun with both arms, and the ends of her words cutely dragged a bit, sugary sweet.

“Jun Gege, you came!”

“!!!”

The coworkers next to them were dumbstruck.
