Ruan Jiu Jiu was still in the middle of dreaming about being a rich lady when she awoke.

Because……Li Yun’s transfer was actually over 700,000 yuan!

No wonder why the original body’s owner had been able to live on with such reduced circumstances. Having easily handed over her entire net worth to fund Li Yun’s dubious “investment”, even to the point of having to borrow money, not being sold off herself was quite good.

Ruan Jiu Jiu happily calculated the money in her accounts. If this went on, after her divorce she might even have more than enough to even open a small store.

Ruan Jiu Jiu’s dream was to open a book cafe and raise a fat ginger cat. Every day, she’d sit at the door soaking in the sunshine while petting her cat, occasionally making a few drawings at her leisure. Now, her dreams were so close to realization she had already started to let her imagination run wild about what a wonderful life it would be.

Humming a little tune, she finished her bath and rubbed a body lotion with a pleasant scent all over herself. The bathroom’s mirror was fogged over with a layer of mist. The hazy reflection of a beautiful face was visible, the beauty’s face full of emotion, and peeking out of the fog appeared even more tender and lovely.

Ruan Jiu Jiu patted her face with satisfaction and put on a face mask.

Happily pushing open the bathroom door she briskly moved forwards, and the accompanying misfortune also moved quickly to meet her.

Ruan Jiu Jiu wasn’t standing steadily and her foot suddenly slipped out from under her. She screamed in terror but was unable to grab ahold of the door handle, and with a whoosh she kept sliding forwards until her ass landed firmly on the wooden floor.

*Bam!*

She let out a whimper of pain.

*Plunk*

A bottle of Yakult tumbled onto the floor, and rolled over to her foot before stopping. Ruan Jiu Jiu stared, then lifting her head, she met Cheng Jun’s gaze.

The beauty lay weakly on the floor, her elbow propping herself up. The bathrobe came apart slightly, revealing a peak at a beautiful, sexy scenery. Her legs were long and straight, her bountiful chest strained against the tightly wrapped towel, and her slender collar bones were visible. Perhaps because she had just come out of the bathroom, her skin was tinted a tender pink, extremely alluring.

This scene would make a man lose control.

Cheng Jun, “You scared me.”

Ruan Jiu Jiu, “???”

Is this something a person could say?! Please shut up okay?

Under Ruan Jiu Jiu’s stern declaration, there was no soda in the house. Only a variety of milk drinks remained…and Yakult. Ruan Jiu Jiu strongly suspected that Cheng Jun deliberately provoked her because he didn’t have any soda to drink.

Reality confirmed that she had thought too much.

Cheng Jun seemed to have no intention of helping her up, not to mention no signs of a nosebleed or any amorous feelings. Under Ruan Jiu Jiu’s wide-eyed stare, he calmly picked up the bottle of Yakult and left.

Ruan Jiu Jiu, “……” What, just leaving like this?

Unable to suppress her anger, she grabbed a slipper and threw it in Cheng Jun’s direction. The slipper hit his ass, and with a smack, bounced off in a different direction. He finally stopped in his tracks.

Behind him came Ruan Jiu Jiu’s fuming voice, “Help me up.”

It hadn’t been a light fall, and Ruan Jiu Jiu’s elbow was partially bruised. Her whole body drooped with pain. Meanwhile, Cheng Jun behaved as if he was an unrelated bystander. After supporting her onto the sofa he started peeling open a bar of chocolate. Ruan Jiu Jiu, in a fit of anger, retaliated by snatching it and biting off a huge chunk. She gleefully faced him while munching on the chocolate in an act of protest.

Cheng Jun stared silently at her for a long moment.

Being stared at by Cheng Jun felt strange. His eyes were very slender, his pupils a beautiful black color, and the feeling his gaze gave you was mysterious. Ruan Jiu Jiu gradually was unable to laugh any longer.

She swallowed, her throat dry, and put on a strong front, “What are you looking at, I know I’m pretty.”

Cheng Jun continued to stare at her. “Tastes fine?”

Ruan Jiu Jiu, “……Huh?”

Cheng Jun, “Seems like it’s past the expiration date.”

Ruan Jiu Jiu, “……”

She suddenly remembered that when they went to the supermarket, they hadn’t bought any chocolate. So where did Cheng Jun get this piece of chocolate from?

As if he could read Ruan Jiu Jiu’s mind, Cheng Jun slowly dropped a bomb, “I found it in the pocket of a winter coat from last year.”

Ruan Jiu Jiu was so furious that her anger needed an outlet. The chocolate in her mouth hung there, and she didn’t dare chew or swallow any further.

Cheng Jun this bastard!

She gave him a fierce glare and announced, “No more breakfast for you.”

In an attempt to save his recently revived taste buds, Cheng Jun made a quick comeback in what seemed to be an effort at restoring relations between the two.

“I think I have a bag of chocolate that hasn’t expired yet, want some?”

Ruan Jiu Jiu, “……”

Thank you very much.

The distance between the two, though, seemed to have narrowed a teensy bit due to this little episode. But in the end, despite eating at the same table every day and occasionally even exchanging a few words, Ruan Jiu Jiu didn’t have any understanding of what his life was like and what went on behind that door that seemed to be closed 24 hours a day.

Anyway, she didn’t really need to understand too much, right? Ruan Jiu Jiu let out a sigh inside.

Their current style of interaction was already good enough. Two distant friends lending each other an occasional hand—that was their relationship.

“Are you going out today?”

There was a reason why Ruan Jiu Jiu asked this question.

Ordinarily, Cheng Jun pretty much just stayed in his study all the time, occasionally venturing out in either a sweatshirt or sports jacket, meaning that he definitely wasn’t going anywhere important. Hence, in Ruan Jiu Jiu’s mind, she had already firmly equated “Cheng Jun” and “NEET”.

Some people looked normal on the outside, but had who knows how many “materials” saved in their computer. Ruan Jiu Jiu’s imagination had already supplied a vision of a room stuffed to the brim with figurines.

Cheng Jun took a measured look at her, not knowing what Ruan Jiu Jiu was thinking under that strange expression on her face.

“Mhm.”

“Then wait for me a sec, we can go together.” It just so happened that she was planning to pack up a bunch of stuff in her room to toss out, including a few sets of bizarre-looking lingerie.

When women say to wait for a second, it turn into an unfathomably long length of time.

30 minutes passed.

An hour passed.

On the nth time that Cheng Jun took a look at his phone, she came out the door, dragging a big black trash bag and sweating profusely. “Just in time. Help me throw this out downstairs.”

Cheng Jun got up, and without a word of complaint he picked up the bag and went out first.

Holding her purse, Ruan Jiu Jiu followed behind.

Cheng Jun was pretty tall. Ruan Jiu Jiu made a visual assessment and estimated that, without high heels, she would at most come up to his chin. Then the foot that she had slipped on began to ache, and gradually Ruan Jiu Jiu’s steps slowed.

Just then, a figure passed Ruan Jiu Jiu and speedily walked forwards.

After exiting the building, there was still a set of stairs outside. Ruan Jiu Jiu recognized the young schoolgirl who passed her as the daughter of a family who lived above them, who often used the excuse of taking out the trash to loiter around in the hallway. However, instead of coming across Cheng Jun, she often bumped into Ruan Jiu Jiu.

Ruan Jiu Jiu rolled her eyes with some helplessness.

The young girl wore a white dress and a slender pair of high heels, looking for all the world like a graceful lotus flower. She quickly bounced forwards in Cheng Jun’s direction.

Before Ruan Jiu Jiu could make out heads or tails of what this little girl was planning, the other suddenly let out an “Aiya!”, pretended to twist her ankle, and as Ruan Jiu Jiu stared flabbergasted, she aggressively threw herself at Cheng Jun’s back!

Ruan Jiu Jiu was shocked.

How was this a shy little lotus? It was clearly a tiger prowling down the mountain, a ravished wolf pouncing on food, or a miserly man pouncing on a jewelry box. The North, South, East, and West winds may gust and blow but the little bamboo shoot would cling to the mountain face like no other!

She could already foresee what would happen next.

At the moment of life or death, Cheng Jun paused with his trash bag in hand. Just when the white lotus was happily immersed in the excitement of landing a fatal blow, he calmly stepped to the side and the white lotus was left empty-handed. The girl was shocked into dropping her act and let out a howl.

Ruan Jiu Jiu: “……”

Cheng Jun released the trash bag in his hand and it rolled to the ground. The white lotus pounced on the meter-tall soft trash bag, not desperate enough to suffer a bruise on her forehead.

Something awkward then happened.

The bag burst open under her weight. She didn’t even have time to react before her head tumbled into the clothes. She slumped on the trash bag, terrified, suddenly seeming to have realized that this position wasn’t very becoming. She lifted her head and a lacy, red ribbon dangled down.

“……” Looking at this scene, Ruan Jiu Jiu couldn’t help but think of the “What is Fashion?” skit by comedian Miss Lin.

The girl with a sensual bra on her head felt like something was off. Her expression changed. She tremored as she pulled the thin ribbon hanging from her head. When she saw what was on her hands, her face paled.

Cheng Jun stood on the first landing of the stairs. His hand was in his pocket, and he looked at her warmly. He didn’t seem to have any intention of helping her.

The girl couldn’t hold it in anymore and started bawling. She chucked the bra away and ran off.

Ruan Jiu Jiu: “……”

This wasn’t her fault, okay?

Cheng Jun slowly ambled down the stairs and bent down to pick up the bra. He casually tied the bag back up. Ruan Jiu Jiu felt a little weird and embarrassed. Even though she never wore those things, they were still considered her possessions in the end.

She quickly scurried down the stairs. “Wait! Let me take care of…. Ahhh!”

She felt a stab of pain in her ankle and her ankle rolled. Ruan Jiu Jiu almost fell over.

Ruan Jiu Jiu swore that she saw that bastard Cheng Jun dodge!

D.O.D.G.E.!

She quickly reacted and grabbed the hem of Cheng Jun’s shirt. As expected, Cheng Jun wasn’t steady. Like a gust of wind blowing down a tree, he toppled to the ground, and Ruan Jiu Jiu fell into his lap without the least bit of injury.

The maiden in his arms was soft and smelled sweet. Her black hair fell like water, and a red blush surfaced on her clear-skinned face.

She said in meek embarrassment, “You okay?”

Cheng Jun: “……”

They stared at each other.

A giant question floated in Ruan Jiu Jiu’s mind. She clenched her teeth and gave a cold smile. “Is it that I’m too heavy?”

Cheng Jun swallowed the words that were just about to leave his mouth.

“No.”

Ruan Jiu Jiu: “……”

Cheng Jun: “I broke a bone.”

Ruan Jiu JIu: “?!”

She quickly sat up and awkwardly looked at Cheng Jun’s limp left hand. Cheng Jun let out a small sigh and Ruan Jiu Jiu felt even more out of place.

Only

“Sorry, let’s go to the hospital! I’ll pay your medical bills!”

If Ruan Jiu Jiu knew the godly amount Cheng Jun’s hand was insured for, she definitely wouldn’t dare to say those words.

Definitely.
